Something I worked on when the first thread portraits of Wilson, Wendy, and Wolfgang were announced on both Twitter and then eventually the forums. I was shocked by the vast raw aesthetic they contained and went for my influences of Asterix and classic armor to get a warrior aesthetic. Though for my hat, I went for a European kettlehat to emulate my purse-hat. I didn't realize there would be no pig-related in the actual event so despite there being a massive pig theme going on, my weapon is just a invention of pig guard and scythe. Kind of darker than usual content for the game but I had fun. Taking a page from Calvin and Hobbes. Thought it'd be cute to have Wendy and Webber act like kids again. Though the way they're talking through the gingerbread men, it reminds me of those two mice from Loony Toons. Mewthemew, mentioned above, was showing a screencap from Cuphead of a character called Bippo in a bumper car. The pose was too hilarious, I had to put Krampus in the Seaworthy. Probably trying to hitch a ride to the islands. I threw Wilson originally to gawk but changed the expression when I added Maxwell to bother him. Request from my father. "Pied pie-per of Hamlet". He came up with the idea due to hearing the title of the game and asked me to draw this. I was a tad lazy in the drawing process so I copy pasted the bricks and rats 'n reetles to add some more to the drawing, hence why there's shading. Another fruitcake piece. I printed out a piece of the catcoon hissing and thought it'd be fun to have both kitty and Webber hissing at the cursed pastry while Kittykit and lil' spibbah watch on. Skeledork is in the GOH skin since it is a party. Father wanted this piece laminated after I showed him, so it's currently under a laminated press to protect it from certain weather and what not. Reference to the ending of the Hamlet trailer. It looks like a cliff that this joke came to mind. It COULD BE the end of the Constant but who knows. Maybe @KrisRF knows. On the Oxygen Not Included side of the forums and discord, I've heard about the creature called "slickster". So seeing how tiny it was, thought Slickster and Slips could have a puffing contest. In the end, they're both adorable. Drew this one immediately after my first day on Beta. Got a few refs of Pugna from both screencaps of my gameplay and that image with Pugna looking at the viewer with confusion. The banners and flags seemed to be a recurring motif with Pugna in the the textbox and all over the stadium. Note to viewers: I drew this before the trailer. The way Pugna was talking about the portal, this image came into my head. and I highly thank my church for the new scanner/printer so I could get the references in drawing Pugna. One more off the checklist. Wilson interrupting quotes from Dragon Quest 8. I got printouts of these lines while I was playing with my father earlier this year and thought it'd be fun to have the cast feel frustrated. Even though I did technically draw Maxwell as Dhoulmagus. So... Thanks to Jouste's stream, I now know that Oshnu's don't usually have saddles unless it's the part where Chester is sitting on. Father chose Willow to be the particular "victim" of this page. Wanted to get this done today so I can get it out of the way. Six is six, and I intend to either finish this comic either this year or early next. This shouldn't have taken so long. Due to my father's busted dominant left hand, hopefully the therapy he'll be getting with the help of friends, he'll be able to draw with that hand again in the future, he's getting good with his right though. I printed out refs of the two impaled heads out of particular curiosity and went to do a silly doodle of Wickerbottom doing the limbo. This is disturbing yet... Goofy. Winona quotes Invader Zim. Threw Wilson and Willow to reference Dib's head being in the frame when Dib's father shouts the line. Another piece off the checklist: Maxwell singing Tom Waits's "Eyeball Kid" at Wes. Since Wilson is excited for another science enthusist, he wanted to gift his buddy a lab coat. He probably asked Woodie for some tips on sewing. Something about those spools look dangerous. Poor Wilson just wanted to fix his vest. Some Jouste doodles: Boarilla turning WX into a maracca. Jouste was doodling the boarilla the week before last and he had a character trapped in the Boarilla's hand. Wendy forces the infernal staff up the Boarilla's nose in frustration. That's the end of the Jouste doodles I did previously and scanned. Another piece finished off the checklist. Based on the church hymn "Abide with me; 'Tis Eventide". It was played during my mother's funeral and the lyrics felt like a Don't Starve piece. I didn't expect doing a sequel to the recent Hallow Nights art. @Quoth143 theorized that the story Maxwell was telling was just a major projection at his thoughts on Charlie. Like a abusive rebound after being told so many toxic things to him hidden in the game scripts. So Wilson is getting angry at him for basically drawing major attention. Also threw in a lureplant eye for Abigail since it'd be cute. I always considered my cat Cosmic Creepers as a bat so I'm a lil' frustrated there wasn't a bat skin until just recently. Cosmic will stay as a Wyvernling but I thought it'd be funny to have skeledork being horrible and trying to cheat the Thulian system. Probably cheating by having two pets already. When I saw the Xirconium crystal ball among the Hallowed Nights trinkets, thought I'd have a go at my own version of Wickerbottom as Madame Leota(since my father already did). Turned one of the endtable skins upside down for the chandeleer. My first shot at doodling Waverly and the cast kills her. I already had a idea of doing the starvers as Wizard of Oz cast but I wanted a chance to draw Waverly. I really want Klei to revamp Waverly as a official character(like Wallace) since she's only a head for what I've seen so far. Still... I'm sorry Waverly. To describe my choices, I thought since there's already a scarecrow in the game, I gave the role of scarecrow to friendly scarecrow. Woodie has a concept art of him as a wolfman, so I went for that as the concept of a "not-so-cowardly"... Wolf? Since Lucy is important to Woodie, I gave the tinman's axe for Woodie. An' Toto is a vargling. Of course. Last week or so, Jambel and Jarret finally named a dupe "TomWaits" after me constantly asking during the ONI dev streams for one of the dupes to be named that. The devs got a lil' silly starting to just chatter on about their Tom Waits impression. Since Skin Trader reminds me of Tom Waits, thought I'd draw the two in one pic while also referencing the devs constantly going "GRUMBLEGRUMBLEGRUMBLE".
