Meet Wilbur Shott!
(Still working on last name.)
A character suggestion! :D

post-5948-13764590328505_thumb.png

Blurb:

Wilbur is a southern raised man with a thing for animals and machines. His dad, where ever he is now, is a locomotive engineer and a gunsmith from the town they lived in and was fascinated by his father's work. He was being raised as a rancher but he never took the job seriously and often fooled around. He's usually wild and mischievous, but he is really kind.

Specials:

Beefalos don't seem to mind him shaving their fur, but doing it too much will aggravate them.
You can shave 2 beefalos without them getting mad while they are awake, the third time is a risk. You can go for a third with a 50/50 chance of the beefalo getting aggravated. Once done, you cannot shave them while they are awake for 10 days as they will instantly get mad. The 10 day countdown starts as Soon as you shave the first beefalo.

He can milk beefalos with no problem. Unless a calf is near.
Right click with no tool in hand and a bucket in your inventory. Milk can be used to warm yourself via "cooking" it and then consumption. (I don't know how Winter the Devs mentioned will work exactly, but just throwing that in there.)

He is really good with a lasso. (Lasso = 3 Ropes)

post-5948-13764590254911_thumb.png

He can lasso beefalo calves, hounds and spider queens (Will add to the list of creatures if there are more added, suitable to be lassoed.) to temporarily make them immobile. Spider queens can still birth spiders and attack if you stand too close. The hounds can still attack if you are too close also. The rope will pop off the creature after the time of it's use is over (usually 4-5 seconds) or if you kill the creature. The percentage of it used will lower 20%.

Saddle Craft(?) (Not to sure if it'll work well. Same goes for the rest of the ideas)

He can craft a special hat! (Sheriff Hat = 1 Straw Hat + 2 Rope + 1 Gold)

Concept:

Don't ask me how the material changed. Go stare at your miner's hat and smile. c:

I can just kiss Wilbur! x) <3

(Will add/update more another time. I like this character now. <3 SORRY WILSON! You're still second best. e3e)

Extra:

Music:

I was getting into the concept of my character and stumbled upon some possibly appropriate music:

Sample choice, wow look at the price! It's to get the idea. This is the instrumental version: Roaring in the 20's and 30's

From these fine fellows, The Texan Gypsies!

Voice:

If he were to be implemented, in which I highly doubt, but it's fun to go in depth with character development, his voice would be played by a harmonica as Toaster Fu suggested. I originally was thinking a violin/fiddle, but once s/he mentioned harmonica, just yes!

Concerning his name choice:

Also... Before anyone mentions it, I know there is a "Wilbur" supposedly already. But I chose it because of the Wright brothers and I wanted a first name not a surname, meaning I'm not using "Wright" as a name. Why the Wright brothers? Blame my father's hobby & why the heck not? ;)

If you want, you can also call him Wyatt or Wade.
Wilbur Is currently having an identity crisis.

Don't blame me for reading Wilbur's quotes for Honeydew's voice.

Anyway, he looks pretty sweet, he could use some bits of blue/green, he looks like he's wearing Wilson's stuff.

I'm not going to criticize as much right now, but if I had the energy to do it, then I would do it. But not now, so look forward to that.

Yus! :D

I'll update it when I get the chance.

If implemented, the monkey should be called "Wilco". I don't know, it settles well with me.

Omg, Honeydew as in Simon as in the Yogscast? Lmfao! xD Ok?

Also... I was trying to keep the color template of the characters the same. Besides Wendy's hair, they all have pink, salmon, light burgendy... whatever that reddish tone of color is.

Looks awesome! The stubble could use a little work though. Kind of looks like he got a sunburn in the shape of a beard…

He has brown hair though, I didn't know how to do it. I tried with a light shade of gray and looked weird to me.

Edit: Actually, I tried again with the gray. *shot* Will fix it. c:

I think you're asking for criticism, so here I go:

Wilbur looks good. As in "good", I mean, his design is very solid. There's no need for change in his current design. There's a slight issue though, the only feature that truly stands out is his head. Not the biggest problem, but some of his facial features lack any true emotions. Try observing this, you can clearly see his expression, it stands out because he's looks worried and stressed (His hair sticks out, and his skin is folded/pushed). On the other hand, Wilbur looks far too clean to be a tough push-up cowboy, he's kinda too happy, if you ask me. Also, changing the color template isn't going to make him ridiculously original (OC), make him look believable, just make his jacket green, and it'll make him more knowledgeable as a forest/animal specialist.

The character is unique and good-to-look at.

Overall, do some changes, and he'll look fantastic.

The image you gave me... I was observing the in-game posters when you select the characters. Slightly different.

But I understand that, though the slight details I didn't want to mention, He's young, maybe in his 20s, doesn't take anything seriously and is really a whimp when it comes to pain. It slightly conflicts with the "he's wild", but I've known people like that.

I'll see... it's hard to work on these things on the computer with a one hour limit. Seeing things on paper differs from seeing it on screen.

I really didn't want a crit. but ok...

It's a good idea, particularly the lasso. But, if they monster can still attack you when you get close, doesn't that defeat the point? The reason I would want to make a mob immobile was so I could go up and attack it without it hurting me, but if it's going to hurt me anyway then whats the point? It might as well be moving.

Man, I feel like such a butt. I'm sorry if I was too specific/harsh, I just wanted to make him as official as he can.

The current image is fine, but I was only criticizing because I felt that it could have been better.

Not really, animals struggle, don't they? Maybe the attack is less frequent? I really didn't want to get too into detail. It's not like it's/he's gonna get considered to get implemented or anything.

Also I'd think you'd want to keep Hell Hounds from getting to close to things that might burn.

Ohmagawd, this is awesome! I watched you other (fan-arty) thread and its really cool how this developed into a fine-art character. Have you already asked someone of Klei to insert it in the actual game? Would be great to unlock a new character. :D
