It is NOT a church thread. Freedom of Meligion is guaranteed. This is a Kingdom of Melon, or Melondom! Here, we will discuss melon affairs and vote on melon issues. I, as stated in the opening post, am the Melonlord, leader of the Melondom. There are two branches of ranks in the High Court of Melondom. First Melonsir Jules is the head of the Melonsir branch of ranks. Melonsirs, and all variations thereupon, take care of the execution of affairs, such as policing, defending the townsfolk, patrolling the streets, seeking out treasures, and other tasks of that manner. Melonscribes, led by High Melonscribe ImDaMisterL, on the other hand, take care of more administrative and literary affairs, such as lawmaking, recording of Melon history, and the composing of Melon Epics and Melon Anthems. All are encouraged to produce Melon Art, as talmatityaho did when he turned the original Melon on a Stick image into this wonderful gif, as Jules did when he created the Official Melon on a Stick mod, or as NoobModder did when he made the image downloadable here.POSITIONS IN THE HIGH COURTI have already appointed leaders of the two branches. They may each recruit two people for the positions directly underneath them on the chart. The recruits may in turn recruit two people each for the positions under them. This continues until the current bottom ranks of Melonsquire and Apprentice Melonscribe. The higher your rank, the greater your recognition in the court. With the consent of all parties involved, rank switches are allowed. In order to rank up, one of two courses of action must be taken. First, you can simply switch with a higher up member, though for reasons of preventing insanity and corruption, you may only move up or down one rank at a time. In order to switch branches, you must switch with somebody of your rank equivalent and have the consent of their superior and yours. In difficult situations, special arrangements may be made. Your second option is to gain my consent and the consent of your superior to ascend in rank. If you are not of a bottom rank, you or your superior must provide a replacement for your position. Should your superior choose somebody different, they will be sided with. When you ascend in rank, you will match your former superior's rank, and take on their superior. Your new superior will now have you as a third recruit. You would gain the ability to recruit your own two members. Should you leave the court when in a position that isn't a bottom rank, you must appoint a replacement, either from the pool of citizens or from your own recruits. The recruit who is appointed must also find their own replacement when they ascend in rank. Otherwise, the duty falls to the recruit left behind, and continues until there are no empty spots with recruits under them. If there are no positions available, a citizen may apply to become a bottom rank member under the wing of a second to bottom rank member. If multiple next-to-bottom-rankers invite you to join their recruits, you have the freedom to choose from their number. If you cannot decide, just go with whoever asked you first. I reserve the right to banish members of the court, but will do so upon request if valid reasons are given, preferably by multiple people. CITIZENSHIP If you want a position in the court, or want to participate in melon affairs without taking a position, you can become a Citizen of Melondom. Anyone can become a citizen. Simply request to become one, and if you don't have a reputation for being a butt, I'll add you to the list. Citizens have no particular structure, and I do not plan to change this. It is simply a means of identifying members of the melon community. When you apply to become a citizen, please state what job you would like to work, such as melonsmith or melonfarmer. You can have any job you like, but if too many people just take the same job, I'll place limits on the number of people per occupation. Rules Stay on topic, whatever the discussion may be. This is an open discussion area. If you have a dispute, be civil, or take it up in a private chat. Nobody wants to be part of that mess. Don't be a butt. I'm not asking you to be friends with everyone, but, again, keep it civil. I'd prefer that only citizens/court members vote in polls, but hey, there's nothing I can do to stop you. All varieties of Melon are welcome as of 9/28/2015 Please don't revolt. PLANS AND THE FUTURE Well, I just want to see if this takes off. I don't think anyone has done this before. There have been churches, but those were different. If this goes big, I'd like to start a DST server once the Melon on a Stick mod comes out works for multiplayer. (Please Jules?)
