Writers, if you'll direct your attention here for just a moment:

We actually have a Google doc for the explicit purpose of string collaboration. It's been neglected until now, but I decided to refurbish it, and organize it properly.

 

I figure using it will smooth things over quite a bit. Nobody's forcing you to use it though, so carry on as you were, if you prefer. This just makes life easier for the coders, so that we won't have to hunt down strings, copy and paste a ton of lines, or rename things constantly.

Do prefabs have to be in all caps in the file? And do they have to be in alphabetical order? Because i have some experience with speech files and i can put them in the file directly. I can then upload the speech_wolfgang file here if you want. No need for you to copy-paste anything...

They don't have to be caps, no. And while they are going to be in alphabetical order in strings.lua, it's not necessary for them to be so.

So pretty much the code for a new string would be like this( taking my Antlion line as an example):

 

Add.QuotesFor "Antlion" {Waxwell = "Even my Tallbirds were a bigger succes than this one."}

 

Just trying to make sure I'll use the correct way of naming things (and showing I am a coding noob ^^; ) . If it is I could edit my original post with the quotes in this way to make it easier for the coders.

Prefab (including characters) names have free form capitalization. It's good to maintain some internal consistency in the doc for the sake of organization, but that's just it.

 

So pretty much the code for a new string would be like this( taking my Antlion line as an example):

 

Add.QuotesFor "Antlion" {Waxwell = "Even my Tallbirds were a bigger success than this one."}

Yes. Just don't forget a comma after each quote if you're including more than one (even if it's just one, you can optionally put a comma as well).
