[WiP] Don't Starve SuperMod!

This mod aims to justify it's name as a SuperMod. We hope to cover, not just a specific area, but add to the Gameplay experience as a whole. We aim to please the community, taking popular suggestions and interesting ideas.

We hope to add all new items, mobs, food, clothing and much more. The first downloadable mod with content will arrive soonish. Sit tight, we'll be with ya real soon.

Also, as this is a group effort, may I ask that everyone please comment your code! This is important, and your fellow coders/future self will thank you!

Also don't be afraid to break things. Half of development is breaking things, and then trying to figure out how to make them not break (or at least hide them well enough from the end user that it doesn't matter :U).

YES! Bears should be in don't starve. I can't help with coding or anything, but I can make a suggestion:They should appear to steal honey from bee boxes. Don't know how you'd do it, but it would be cool.

Ok so i took a screenshot and edited it to give a base look for the Art team to look at[ATTACH]7894[/ATTACH]It dosen't have to be called Screagfix i just needed a fill nameAI: It swims around the maps shore trying to get as close to the player as possible it goes the speed of a spiderit eats any meat on the ground or any birds on the shore frogs pigs anything that gets in its way gets eatenAttack: 1. It spawns 1 Tentacle under the player it does this once per 5 Attacks2. Swings its tentacle arm down at you doing a line of 35 damage3. Spits up once eaten meal looks like a spider thats green and gooey the spider does 15 damage4. On death it brings down 3 tentacle arms on a small spot on the shore doing 40 damage eachDrops:1 Tentacle Spike 100% 50% for 26 Monster meat 90% 10% for 5 MM2 Tentacle spots 100%When it eats pigs or bunnymen it has a chance to spit out Pig:25% Pig skin25% Meat50% NothingBunnymen25% Bunny Butt25% 2 Carrots50% nothingThats all for now i need some rest its late

The Screagfix is certainly a possibility... however to make things easier, I think making use of the preexisting animations of the tentacles to have the beast have his tentacles seemingly coming up from out of the water rather than protruding from it above water would be nice[-er for somebody to implement :p]

I probably didn't explain the whole tentacle thing very well... so here's a picture (don't mind the weird ugly face thing, It's just my spin on your idea :p)

EDIT - I just realized... I don't think you can attack over the barrier that separates the water from the land... no matter; that just means reworking how battles work (ie. your classic 'monster comes to land edge allowing you to attack it briefly before it retreats' scenario :p

Hm... Wouldn't that actually be a good idea? We could add the Pelontrix as a puny weak monster or a very rare easter egg in the mod just for the lols.

So, I've been thinking about the bear, and this is what I came up with:

Behavior: Neutral. Tries to keep its distance. Turns agressive if Wilson comes too close. (Similar to Tallbirds).

Combat Behavior: Has three attacks: Bite, Claw Swipe and Ram. Check spoiler for details.

Walking Speed: 1.5 (same as Beefalo)

Running Speed: 6.5 (.5 lower than Beefalo's)

Naturally aggressive towards: Beefalo.

Habitat: Forests.

Diet: Meat; Monster Meat; Honey

Drops: 1 Bear Tooth (100% / 45% for 2 / 25% for 3); 1 Bear Pelt (70%); 1 Bear Claw (40%)

Bite: Similar to Hound's. Bites the player.

Attack Period: 2

Attack Range: 3

Damage: 40

Claw Swipe: Swipes it's claws twice on Wilson. Similar to Tentacle.

Attack Period: 2.5

Attack Range 4

Damage: 25 per swipe.

Ram: Rams into Wilson. Similar to Beefalo's.

Attack Period: 4

Attack Range: 4

Damage: 45

New items related to the Bear:

Bear Dart: Bigger version of the Blow Dart with a bigger projectile.

Recipe: 5 Reeds; 2 Snowbird Feathers; 1 Bear Tooth

Science Tier: 3 (Shadow Manipulator) -- Not lore-friendly but for obvious purposes.

Crafting Tab: Fight

Uses: 1

Stackable: to 20

Damage: 150

Additional Effects: After blowing one, Wilson can't attack for 2 seconds.

Heavy Cane: Heavier, stronger version of the Walking Cane.

Recipe: 8 Twigs; 4 Gold Nuggets; 1 Bear Claw

Science Tier: 3 (Shadow Manipulator) -- Not lore-friendly but for obvious purposes

Crafting Tab: Fight

Uses: 65

Stackable: No

Damage: 60 (26 higher than Spear; 9 higher than Tentacle Spike; 8 lower than Dark Sword)

Additional Effects: Cuts Wilson's movement speed by 15% while held.

Fancy Vest: More durable version of the Puffy Vest.

Recipe: 1 Bear Pelt; 12 Silk; 5 Beefalo Wool

Science Tier: 3 (Shadow Manipulator) -- Not lore-friendly but for obvious purposes

Crafting Tab: Dress

Insulation Factor: 240

Sanity Restoration Rate: +3/min (1 point higher than Puffy Vest)

Durability: 25 days. (10 days higher than Puffy Vest)

Sewing Kit Repair Rate: 20% (13.3% lower than Puffy Vest)

Ok, we're starting to get some Coders, so really all we now require to get started is a decent artist.

So much great ideas. I'll try and take a note on this, we'll pick and easy one to get started and if we can get a few more players, we can probably make a start on said easy one.

How about a craftable pair of claws to wear for faster attacks, berseker style? It does less damage than a spear but is faster and has stun chance. Some custom attack animation would be neat.

The Logan (If you don't get it, just... Get it.)

Recipe: 4 Bear Claws; 2 Rope

Science Tier: Shadow Manipulator

Crafting Tab: Fight

Uses: 100

Stackable: No

Damage: 30 (4 points lower than Spear)

Additional Effects: 20% chance of stunlocking an enemy after each hit. The effect stacks and resets on the 6th hit (guaranteed stunlock hit).

Maybe [MENTION=2754]Raven Crow[/MENTION] or [MENTION=7327]Mad Potatoes[/MENTION]?And I guess Bear or Screagfix first. Leave the Logan to be added after the Bear, so the crafting items can be acquireable.

[MENTION=24606]chromiumboy[/MENTION], has code for mobs to walk around grabbing Honey and such. I asked him to PM it to me, so if I pass that onto [MENTION=43228]milson[/MENTION] and [MENTION=13556]eLe[/MENTION], and we get some roughs drawn, the Bear could be a reality.

I have an idea to make the full moon more significant.At full moon you can see in the dark and ghosts will come out from their graves and skeletons. (they like to throw parties at full moon!)I'm aiming for a creepy factor for full moons, like shadows and whispers (not so often). Maybe even creepy and elusive mobs!
