  1. Winona's catapults have utility similar to a Fling-o-Matic (they do aoe damage that is of similar value to a Fling-o's aoe freeze effect in combat) and while they are fairly expensive, I don't think they are nearly as expensive as they ought to be. Adding 2 gears means that you really have to commit to putting one down, because you'll only get one gear back from hammering it or letting an enemy kill it. Note how it has immediately been put to use as a boss cheese technique, in a similar manner to how Fling-o's have been used with a perpetually-smoldering Dwarf Star. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWFN2hosF5w&t= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f7dwPjp-7U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfZRytNWVMQ
  2. How to kill the tree guard!

Well it seems alot of new players have trouble with the easy tree guard well fret no longer for SirMentlegen is here to save the day with a handy video guide! http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViSY9mNNdbU&feature=youtu.be EDIT: I am using this mod!
  3. Tweaking yes!I think the most important balancing thing we can add is maybe marginally decreasing returns to eating the same food over and over.Example, you eat Cooked or Regular carrots exclusively and eventually it reaches the point where the carrots do not give you anything at all in terms of hunger replenishment. This has an invisible counter that slowly returns the food back to its original power only after a long period of time where the character does not eat it. This makes it so players cannot: - Horde one food, Morsels or Monster meat and Candy.- Make players eat variety regularly meaning more food could possibly spoil and require better management.- Causes the food spoilage mechanic to actually affect the players more dynamically.I imagine early game players are eating Carrots, Berries and Morsels in rotation. Once those has run out of its marginal benefit, players will have to shift towards crock pot recipes, farm plots for different foods and rotate between those varieties OR just be forced to go out and stock up way more. This makes space more precious, makes the player have more things to do and puts the starve back in DONT STARVE!
  4. So I was thinking of a new way to deal damage, as said in the tittle, what if you could throw spears and rocks?A thrown spear deals 75 damage (same as a tentacle spike) when it strikes an enemy, Moves in a perfectly straight line going a debatable distance, Upon hitting an enemy it loses 10% durabilityA throw rock is destroyed on impact and would do the same damage as punching something (I do not know the exact damage, I think it is somewhere around 10?) I am not good at modding things, so if there is anyone who could possibly pull this off feel free to. I think it would be nice to get things like gobblers early with out using a pan flute or dart, or for finishing off an enemy you are to afraid to go near to.
  5. I was thinking of a few ideas and I just thought I would mention them in case,- How about a comet? It could be a rare event and when it lands you could hear a loud thump regardless of how far away you are. It could explode on impact and yield 5 - 15 rocks and some rare items(?)- This one might not be so good but what about having multiple games at a time? I'm not so sure about it myself but I can see the pros and cons in it, I have had family members wanting to play but they would kill me in under a day and I do like testing stuff out, but to be fairly honest I can live without this.- Rivers? You could having them for fishing and maybe as water jugs for the crock pot or something? It could put out accidental fires? Thanks for reading
  6. I'm just curious, if I give Miner Hat to my Pig amigo - will it work on Pig forever or not?
  7. Boulders are typically not plentiful, making rocks a frustratingly rare resource. It's frustrating because a rock is something you'd think would be plentiful. The obvious and easiest solution is to just add more boulders around the game, but I also have some slightly more creative ideas 1. Add the ability to chisel a Rock into Flint with another rock (combine 2x Rock for 1x Flint) 2. Add in an obtainable form of sand and a machine to compress it into rocks... a machine of this sort would fit in perfectly with the game's theme. 3. Add a "Rock Farm" that uses Pebbles as seeds. Pebbles should be a refined material like Cut Stone made out of rocks. 4. Chiselable mountains. 5. Add in a Rock Golem/Rock Monster that can be defeated for large quantities of rocks, flint, and potentially other minerals like gold. Addendum: Another issue is that rocks are a finite resource. Suggestion 3 and 5 in that list could make it a renewable resource.
  8. So I was playing the game and realized: There is a limited number of rocks to mine. My suggestion is that every couple days (maybe 20) there is a meteor shower, it causes the ground to shake when it hits earth and drops 7-10 rocks from it. It also scorches the ground and leaves hostile aliens in the area. Just something I thought about.
  9. From what I've noticed rocks (the big ones you smash with the pick) are finite on the island(s) you're on, after exhausting my last rock trying to find that one piece of gold to craft a miners helmet I noticed once it was used up I'd never be able to build one again, so I suggest some sort of tremor or earthquake system to produce ruptures in the ground causing more rocks to appear, and maybe even go so far as to completely restructure the islands tearing them apart or forcing them together, and maybe even and end game item or building that will allow you control them. Your thoughts?
