  1. Who's Who, Who I Missed?

    So I re-found this picture as I was searching for my Kickstarter confirmation email, and I'm trying to figure out who's who. I know Corey is up front, and Kevin is to the left and maybe Joew on the left of Corey, but who's who of the rest of them? I'm thinking Wade is in this picture too....

First, I thought up some ideas for wendy & willow: WILLOW: First off, get rid of the "starts fires in the dark". Useless now. My idea: the "RMB light" prompt should appear on all flammable things and items, all the time. Also, I think attacks should have chances to light the opponent. WENDY: My suggestion is to add a perk (to make her less useless). My idea involves graves; digging graves should have no sanity effect and ghosts should have less chances to spawn. These perks would make me actually want to play as her, because I have a "gravedigger playstyle". WOLFGANG: Needs to get hungrier faster. WICKERBOTTOM: Should still need shadow manip, but should be able to make night fuel from petals with alchemy station. WX78: Needs food to also spoil slower while in inventory. He has a COLD metal body, right? The rest: SHADOW MANIP.: Decrease the nightmare fuel in the recipe to 6-8 (preferably 7). Add one more log to recipe. HOUNDS: Slightly decrease spawn rate & how large packs are. Too overwhelming. MARBLE: Make pillars & trees drop more marble. DEERCLOPS: Should show up for the first time on the second winter. I have never *legitly* experienced one. KOALEPHANT: Needs to change during seasons, should look like when a baby beefalo fully matures. Needs to appear slightly more often earlier, then less later TERRORBEAK: Needs to show up by 15 sanity. Noone really ever makes it to 0 sanity (unintentionally). Should drop more nightmare fuel. CLOTHING DURABILITY: Clothing needs to last much longer. Also, the sewing kit should use stingers & less silk. BUTTERFLY CAKE: Tier two butter muffin. Requires eggs, fruit, and butterfly wings. Made in crockpot WARRIOR SPIDER: Needs to have a some sort of poison effect. Should decrease health and sanity or health and speed, or both. Can be cured with cooked red shrooms. TRAILS/ROADS: Trails need to lead to smaller villages, roads need to connect the largest villages. TO BE CONTINUED

  4. Thank you all for your help with tuning adventure mode! We've incorporated your feedback, and fixed a ton of bugs, and are almost ready to release the final version of the game. Just to make sure that things go as smoothly as possible on release day, we're going get you guys to take a look at the build before we sign off on it. I've updated the adventure test build to be the latest, and enabled the ending. Please take a moment to check out the new build. Play both game modes, and see if you can beat adventure without cheating or skipping anything. If you find any bugs, please post them in this thread. We'd like to make sure that there's nothing too show-stopping left over for launch! Once this build looks stable enough, we're going to push it on to the main branch and shut down the test branch. Unless something goes horribly awry, this should happen tomorrow. Here are the instructions for doing the getting on the branch (in case you haven't already): [*]In your Steam library, right click on Don't Starve and select Properties [*]Click on the Betas tab [*]From the dropdown, select the "adventuretesting" branch [*]type ADVENTUREMODE in the password box and press the "Check Password" button. (DON'T PRESS ENTER! IT WILL CLOSE THE WINDOW) [*]Steam should now say that you have opted into the beta [*]Close the dialog, and play the game! Your version number should be 76334 [*]To switch back, do the previous steps, but select NONE as your beta branch.
  5. Alright, so, in the Insanity trailer thread, Kev mentioned how he "forgot to showcase the lamp that runs on nightmare fuel". After everyone pestered him about it, he mentioned other things he "forgot" to show in the trailer- namey, Beardlings, the dark eyes, and Mr. Skits. Everyone thought he was messing with us.Well, we've found beardlings (They're what becomes of rabbits when you're at full insanity), and the "dark eyes" presumably refer to the very bright, pupil-less eyes that appear near your campfire at 75 sanity or less.So, here's my point- where's Mr. Skits? And what the hell do I look for? Is he a new NPC, akin to Maxwell, or he is an interactive beast, like Otto von Chesterfield?A response from Kevin himself would be appreciated, of course.

  7. this struck me as odd but when i quoted kevin about his cohension comment (meaning beefalo stay in hurds) and i comment saying "with baby beefalo" after that while i was on my page one of the visitors was kevin ? bugtracker comment kevins visit what do you guys think ?
  8. Here is my suggestion on the easy "steam-roll" to success farming problem fix! Here are some possibilities to consider: 1:Crop spoilage 2:Terrain/Biome Factor 3:Trample factor (and possibly fences for that) 4:Cageable beefalo that if put corresponding to a farm(s) will fertalize with no need to interact(after building and placing of course) 5:Hostiles/Enemy's could eat crops(Depending on what they are) 6:Wither with out water...so pretty much irrigation 7:Constant need to be tended to because in real life lots of plants will not grow straight up 7:"birth" defects. Ever gotten a weird/ugly looking fruit/veggie? Exactly 8:Pigs will vacate if many of them go missing I know I won't have much impact but any reader/comment I very much appreciate! Thamks.
