  1. What if for the webber rework (whenever it comes out no rush, the wes one is pretty funny) webber could get a whistle item from which he would call his tamed spiders back, sorta like how it works on pikmin, however in this case you have to tame the spiders beforehand, the whistle item could be held in webbers hand and it would work like a staff from the forge, as in it spawns a circle and the spiders go there, that would make attacking with spiders easier, and also it would avoid spiders getting sidetracked making the spiders more manageable, it would be similar to the way we saw webber use his spiders on the halloween short where wurt got introduced. Now this may be farfetched and could make the charater a bit op, but what if the spiders could carry items back to the spider egg they came from, which would help webber with getting resources (this is probably not balanced however i think i would be funny)
  2. Know what would be fun? An official Klei CHALLENGE. I think the devs are super creative and had a lot of enjoyment from creating adventure mode; I've come up with a way to bring that back. This would be in the form of Klei's challenge of the month on the main menu. Custom worlds unlike anything that can be built with the current custom world presets, character restrictions, strange new initial spawn locations, crafting restrictions and a world goal. Perhaps an extra skin roll for your efforts? Well, that's for Klei to decide. Introduction Charlie thinks she can push each character to their limit and break their spirit. She will build a world that exploit each of the survivors weaknesses and shake them to their core. Can they overcome with their own strength? Community How cool would be to brainstorm with each other and proving our mettle as a community? Perhaps a unique skin on extremely hard challenges that make grown men cry? A way to fit in a small amount of content and discussion in between updates. Examples: Do the monster smash- Wurt only World- An enormous swamp biome at the center surrounded by small forests biomes. The swamp is infested with tentacles at every turn. No wild merms, a starting gold axe but there is no flint in the whole world. Goal- Clear the swamp of tentacles before Winter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trapped in the spider's web- Webber only World- Small island resembling a web and a few patches of resources. Hounds spawn daily, in small amounts at first such as 1-2 a day, to eventuality 10 every day. Goal- Reach the main Island which is a far larger spiders web with more resources and spider nests. Survive 10 days on the main island. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gumming up the works- Wx-78 Only World- Spawn in the ruins. There are some resources on some biomes guarded by nightmare lights and clockworks are scarce. Only source of food is gears. Nightmare light activate in the surrounding biomes in a clockwise fashion every few minutes. Every complete cycle (2 days) they all turn on at once. Goal- Survive 12 cycles (24 days) Conclusion Probably a pipe dream since I'm sure there are a lot of limitations that could keep this from happening. The devs might have no interest or time but I still thought it would be cool to share. Although, perhaps it can work if its simple custom worlds like the worlds in the single player adventure mode? And scattered about the area are pieces to a marble Charlie statue (look for right arm, etc). Put the statue together and charlie fills the surrounding area with roses.
  3. I believe Wormwood to be almost perfect save for two things: 1. Lack of unique plant interactions 2. Lack of an advantage in battle My idea to merge both has resulted in the form of MUSHY GNOMES. Please note: This is more or less a rough idea of how Wormwood can benefit from a minion related perk. I want the "Lonesome" to be less... lonesome. I hope you enjoy my silly idea and how Wormwood can be opened up to all sorts of wonderfully unique perks. MUSHY GNOMES: After trading with the mush gnome (one living log) Wormwood will obtain a mushroom "growth". Wormwood can then plant this in a mushroom planter before any spores are applied (only works on spores). Once the spore has grown, Wormwood will notice tiny blinking eyes from the fungi-party, which is of course full of fun-guys. Once picked the little mushes will jump out and cling onto Wormwood where only 6 can occupy his body at one time. Unsure if other survivers should benefit. Small non-cannon lore: The "growth" is a small flesh growth that later separates and becomes another mush gnome (when attached to a mush gnome). RED MUSHY GNOMES: Whenever Wormwood attacks an enemy in close proximity (after some time) one of these will jump from Wormwood onto the enemy and explode. Since wormwood can "reload" from nearby planters the damage will be reasonable. BLUE MUSHY GNOMES: Whenever Wormwood takes damage they absorb a small flat amount which results in them falling off and perishing. GREEN MUSHY GNOMES: Whenever Wormwood stops moving they will climb off, form a circle around Wormwood, and begin singing as they spin around him. Providing Wormwood does not move they will slowly increase his sanity. If the player moves they will jump right back onto of him. If Wormwood moves too fast they will be unable to jump on him and instead give a frantic chase. Some green mushy gnomes will trip and die. In an attempt to keep this short in regards to "why" a combat perk should be given to character like Wormwood, I will say this: Every character deserves a small role in every field, a philosophy that has so far been reflected in-game. IMO there are two major roles in this game, which are combat and exploration. So far in every rework characters have, to some degree, benefited with some perks to both categories. Warly broke the mold first and Id like for Wormwood to follow.
  4. The original idea was to spawn some pets per each world (Lunar, Caves, Forest) while doing something in it, for example one (only once) a pet squirrel like critter randomly appears (with rare chance) while cutting Birchnut Trees, a pet similar to Saladmander found around Lunar ponds, or a special kind of Bunnyman found in a different kind of Hutch, separate from crowded Bunnyman village! The first ideas would also have some game affecting features, one of the pets giving a faint glow of light in small radius, one preventing sanity drop at Dusk, and such, but I couldn't balance those things out so I came up with the ideas bellow, introducing purely cosmetic Critters that encourage exploration of far regions at DST world: The Lunar Critter It is a Carrat, looks different than normal ones. (Leaving the artwork for Klei ofc.) Randomly generates inside ground at a Lunar Island at start of Map, will be surprised then follow the player after being harvested. Disguised as other Carrats, meaning the tail is extremely similar to normal ones, yet a bit different so it's difficult to find it. The Cave Critter It is a Snurtle, looking different than normal ones. Randomly generates at Cave/underground at start of Map, and will follow the player after examined up-close. Disguised as other Snurtles, the shell of it looks similar yet is different, while inside it's completely unique. This two pets will have these in common: Can be unbounded after discovery. Will become available at "Rock Den" if they are unbounded, for free. Can be found during any Season. Are unique, meaning they don't spawn more than once per world. Are cosmetic.
  5. Hej Love the game keep up the wonderful work sorry for poor english and bad grammar. i think it could be cool to have like a packing machine. the purpose would be wrapping of materials example bleach stone and oxylite making them stop off gassing. the machine should have the feature that u could control how much would be in each package. and would use plastic as wrapping material. the idea is to make it easier to calculate how much u would need for example on a space ride between asteroids. the wrapping of food would make the spoil timer go down and keep food fresh for longer and again to calculate how much would be needed to colonize other asteroids or space rides. like a lunchbox package or make a survival meal by combing different food in one package/lunchbox. it could be nice with a butchers table or some machine that could "convert" critters into meat the Con of wrapping things in plastic and making lunchboxes would be trash. when a dupe unwrap the thing for use. trash would bring down decor heavily in the area around it and if enough trash is accumulating around then it starts to smell and making dupes vomit if they have the new bad trait "sensitive nose". i dont remember what the trait is called when a dupe is sensitive to floral scent but it should kinda the same thing.
  6. It is quite obvious that soil in the Constant is filled with minerals. We can see this when earthquakes occur, when we dig up Moleworms' burrows, when we use Garden Rigamajig, when Tillweeds overgrow our farms bringing Garden Detritus to the surface, when Stone Fruit Bushes fruit or when Evergreens Petrify (I consider it happens when they suck too much minerals from soil). Now, similarly to new nutrients, what if there was a factor of the minerals in soil, probably dependent on the biome? It could slowly grow over time as water rinses out demineralized soil and the amount of it would affect (lowering said factor when the event occurs): regrow rate of Stone Fruit Bushes Forest Petrification tempo loot from digging up Moleworms' Burrows frequency of Tillweeds spawning Garden Detritus the amount of Garden Detritus spawned when using Garden Rigamajig My way of thinking was to, for example, use Stone Fruit Bushes near a larger forest one plants for an immigrant Bearger to chop to avoid it turning into an all-stone-no-wood scenario. On the other hand there could be something similar to Collected Dust to manually add some minerals if one wishes to Petrify some trees for fast Rocks and Nitre. Besides, in Reap What You Sow part of updates Stone Fruit Bushes received a significant nerf on their fructation cycle, so perhaps this change could bring previous cycle back provided that soil is well-mineralized, which means players would have to replant them every now and then or add minerals manually if they want Stone Fruits frequently. What do you think about that? Is it an interesting idea or a superfluous hindrance in a complex enough game?
  7. I have this idea for a mod, but I don't have the expertise to code it at all. I searched for an existing mod that could possibly already have this idea I have implemented, but I couldn't find it on Steam. So... I figured I'd share my idea, maybe someone peeks interest and makes it. I've noticed that, even though the game is called Don't Starve Together, players will spend most of their time doing their own thing in far away places. They'll usually interact on big tasks, like giants, hound waves, raid bosses, etc. I thought it'd be a cool idea to have a mod that forces the players' camera position to be a shared one, like in other games such as Castle Crashers. The camera would be centered in a intermediate position between players, and it could zoom in and/or out depending on the distance between players like on Super Smash Bros. Wandering too far from each other could have whatever consequence, such as not being able to see yourself, losing sanity, losing health... Just go creative on that if anyone wants to put their work on this idea. Since I don't quite understand the game's code, I don't even know if this would need to be a server mod, client mod, both, or how difficult it'd be to code it. But I think this would make a nice challenge mod, with some interesting outcomes for people using voice chat or streaming the game. Edit: If a mod such as I described already exists, I'll just hide the thread.
  8. This is a mod that I wanted for a really long time! I would love to have a Wilson/Percy character to play as! The idea was made a few years back, yet no one made it yet If you don't know what I'm talking about, there is plenty art and such online :3 I would make it myself but I don't know how :/ Thanks a lot ~Faelove (p.s. plz tell me if someone already made it, and that I just didn't see it yet :3)
  9. There have been mods for things like this for DS, but not DST Maybe I want my character to relax with a cup a tea after a day of hard work :3, or some chocolate as a reward of sorts Wouldn't that be nice? There could be tea leaves to pick, and some coffee/cocoa bean plants around as well Then you could make other stuff like chocolate milk and coffee cake!!! Please make it happen! ~Faelove (tell me what you guys think!)
  10. Hello Don Staav Modders, I have recently had an idea for a character mod. (for DST, no one downloads vanilla DS mods anymore D:) All in all, the character is a pigman. I have a few ideas for the character, such as; - He can chop down trees with his bare hands.... er, hooves I mean (for crafting purposes he will also be able to mine rocks) - His handslot doesn't exist (he can't hold anything because of his darn hooves!) - His bodyslot doesn't exist either (his body is really big) (he would probably have like a 50% free damage resistance because of this) (he will still be able to wear head items, though, because normal pigmen can. Duh.) - Pigs are automatically 'following' him. (kind of like Wilbur and the monkeys) - He can locate pigs and pig villages easily - He can talk with the Pig King (this feature wouldn't provide any pros or cons, just kind of a funny side thing) - On the full moon, he turns into a dreaded WerePig - and finally, he poops when he eats fruit However, the main reason I made this topic is because of the first worry; the animations. I wanted this character to not use the wilson build, (the one that all the characters use) but rather the pigman one. So okay. Easy right? Well, no because the pig build doesn't include an item pick up animation, or a 'fiddle' animation (fiddle as in the one that plays when you upgrade walls, build things and pick grass/twigs/berries etc) So how would I go about creating these new animations and applying the pig build to the character? [Also, because I'm lazy, I'd just use the original pigman art for this mod.] Thanks if you can help!
  11. Webber is an upcoming character to Don't Starve in the Reign of Giants dlc. Add suggestions on what abilities He should have.
  12. I have some ideas for Monsters and Animals, pls don't flaim me k? dey r onleh ideas ;c.Now let's begin...Animals:Boars (Neutral)Health: 175Damage: 22.5Drop: Ribs, TusksSpawns: Pig VillagesThe Boar is basicly a Buffed up vers/ion of pigs, but only stronger. They are tamable by using any kind of meat, also they can't be Wereboars unlike their ancestors, aka The Pig.Their Tusks are meant for Weapons to craft, no ideas what use they can be though :l.Boars will stay even longer if the meat was cooked and not raw.7 Cooked meat = 12 1 Half daysTurtle (Neutral)Health: 285 + 50(Shell) = 335Damage: 50Drop: Shell, Soggy MeatSpawns: SwampsTurtles have the most advanced system of all time, Walking slowly... Turtles will try to attack you if you manage to find Turtle Eggs by Pitchforking the ground. If you managed to kill one congratulations, because their shells are meant to be craftable armor. They can also be made into Terrapene Soup with the Crock Pot. (aka Turtle Soup) which restores 75 Hunger.Magical Stool (Passive)Health: 125Damage: 0Drop: BoardsSpawns: Anywhere randomlyGoat (Neutral)Health: 150Damage: 44Drop: Horns, Goat Skin, and LambchopsSpawns: Forest BiomeGoats are rideable, but must be tamed by giving them 3 Carrots and Berries, they will accept cooked. If you ride them before you tamed them, they'll Double kick you onto the ground, doing 44 damage. They go around in packs, so don't you think 44 damage will be easy. Goat skins are meant to farm them by creating Grass Areas. Horns are also used to make the Demon Rant's Hat for the middle of it.The Magical Stool spawns random non-rare items, they can be in stacks or single item. They will never drop Rare objects, such as Amulets. Most Stools are rare to find, 2 stools cannot be together in 1 area, they must be seperated in another biome.Monsters:Blue Tentacle (Hostile)Health: 575Damage: 55.55Drop: Ice Spike (Weapon), Blue Skin, Monster Meat.Spawns: Winter Update might probably add a Snow/Tundra/Taiga Biome much? pls? At least? The Tentacle's brother, Blue Tentacle. The Blue Tentacle is a Rare Monster that can be spawned naturally. Since the Winter Update will be coming soon, It would decrease your warmth slowly when you are around it. It will also throw Ice/Snow at you if you are not near it, but eventually it'll come back into it's Hidey Hole. It's Ice Spike allows you to freeze your opponents, It has a durability when you use it in your Tool slot when you are near fire, and will decrease like the Spiderhat. The Crackler (Hostile)Health: 250Damage: 33.55Drop: Bone, William's SkullThe Crackler is a Wooden Skeleton near Graveyards, they came above ground for revenge and WILL kill you, Most are nearby spiders which form a deadly league. They can also be falsely reported as Meat Effigy, which are fake. Their Bones are meant to craft Tortoise Armor. William's Skull is a Headgear that was meant to be a Spoiler of William Shakespeare's Skull, It'll make all Hostile, exception of Sanity Mobs, Friendly to you but, Neutral Mobs hostile to you. Durability like Spiderhat. The KappaHealth: 275Damage: It'll do 20, 25, 30 and then 45 each hit you took from itSpawns: Swamp BiomeDrop: Froglegs, Gravedigger items, Red GemThe Kappa is a ancient mythical creature that resembles a frog and alligator that had babies, The Kappa will take the first hit and then it'll stop until it restores health, It'll repeat itself until you die, fair enough?Bosses:I didn't mention this, but I think Don't Starve needs more than 2 Bosses, don't you agree?Cerberus (Hostile, Never sleeps.)Health: 1350Damage: 100(Bite) 70(Ice) 85(Fire)Drop: Monster Meat, Ceberus's Tooth, Hell's EyeSpawns: When 101 Hounds are killed, spawns around the area near the playerCerberus is a Hard Boss, 3 Heads 3x the damage, each Bite from each head costs 100, making them the most hard to defeat boss, they run faster than the player, suggesting their big size and matter they'll probably ram you into the ocean and make you drown, Since of Winter Update they'll have a Ice Attack which 1 of the heads casts it. They won't stop to eat any meat so traps aren't suggestive. They are immune to any Fire damage. They'll drop Ceberus's Tooth and Hell's Eye to create the Devil's Rant Hat which is 1 half the durability as Nightmare Armor and 1 half the defensive counter part, but sanity will be lost.Characters (Wilson,Willow,Wendy,Wolfgang,WX-78,Wickerbottom,Wes)Health: 100Damage: Depending on what toolDrop: Whatever in their inventorySpawns: When Maxwell has been defeatedThe Characters can befriended by giving them things they can use to survive, like you. If your character is Wilson, Wilson can't be spawned, but the other characters can. The Characters will follow you until you hit your shack/shelter, they'll work to survive and trying to "Not Starve". If you help them for 7 days, they'll go survive for themselves, working as a team won't do it. Maxwell won't like it either...Sanity:BansheeHealth: 600Damage: 55Drop: Pandora's Box, Nightmare Fuel, Devilish LampSpawns: Sanity <13 13% of spawning though. When your Sanity is <13, consider yourself, "I'm gonna die! ;_;". because the Banshee will scream when spawned, infact, the Banshee will scream everytime you see it on the map, thus making you loose Sanity MORE than ever. If you defeat this Screaming Horror, you might get the Rare Pandora's Box. If you use it, it'll spawn a random Hostile mob right next to you. Be warned, this will spawn Bosses and Buffed up mobs.Faded ShadeHealth: ?Damage: ?Drop: Nightmare Fuel, Beard Hair(If Wilson), Torch(If Willow), etc.Spawns: Sanity <7 4% chances of spawning. The Faded Shadow is the Character's imprisoned shadow from the Real World, When you find your Faded Shadow, their name will be ??? and take the look of the Character you are playing. When the Player encounter these, the Shadow will have the Same Health and damage done, and it'll follow you once you get your sanity up, and also drain your sanity to negative -1 The Shadow will copy your movements. if you simply attack it, you attack yourself. It'll not assist you in fights, You'll also get weaker... and weaker......X_X.Once Proper AI is added, the followers will follow you more properly and efficiently, Chester doesn't get stuck in one corner and keeps moving forward and touching the ocean barrier... RIGHT? RIGHT?!?!Man this is pretty long, I hope you like the idea, if you have anything else to say or any MISTAKES and RAGES at me, pls comment. kthx.
  13. It would be great if Klei added multiplayer in an update after the launch, so they don't have to worry about finishing the single-player. Kinda like how Mojang is focusing more on the multiplayer after the release of Minecraft on updates like the upcoming redstone update.
  14. All the current peoplein don't starve should get like a short video on them like some kind of animation and thing about them lore wise more lore for the lore junkies!
  15. I think it would be cool to be able to change the location of a wormhole with an item like this. You have to cook 2 in crock pots. One of the Worm baits have to be placed on the wormhole you want to move and it will eat it. Next you place down a second Worm Bait and after a few seconds, the wormhole will appear where you placed the second Worm Bait and eat it so it will then be at that location! I find this helps people with there maps, though they can't get it to early because they may need monster meat and something else to cook it on the crock pot. :applause:Obviously if anyone actually reads this and it is a possibility to the game, the guys at Klei can just change anything they want about this idea.
  16. I wish i could have a final fight with Maxwell in an other dimension (maybe shadow or hell dimension) once reached the portal (the wooden thing that now allows us to change world), and after defeated him, i wish to see Max transforming into Grue, for a new and more difficult boss fight (perhaps in more phases). In this way we should direct all our efforts to preapir this final battle. And so that portal would be good for something else ;)After we have defeated also Grue we could choose to remain in our world (maybe with some advantages, for example: nights not completely dark, the absence of the monster that kills us in the dark (actually grue xD), and cetera), or choose to leave and return to the world we belong to (with an ending movie perhaps).I hope that my suggestion will be considered.
  17. When a treeguard appeared... T_T, i was at day 7 or 6 i think, nothing to defend myself...
  18. Thanks!I opened a poll for it... How does this make the game easier?.. except for the marbles the item effects are quiet "low powered".
  19. I am not amazing at this game, usually i average to day 15 or so.... Id really like to see this to where i start again, however my level stays the same. I dont have anything again, but my Camp and Body would remain! maybe its noob thinking but i'd like that
  20. Hi, I know... many persons added similar ideas. These are my examples of crafting and pictures:
  21. So I wanted to know if the naughty points counting against you go down over time? And if so, how many days does it take to go back to zero? I really do not want to deal with krampus, I have enough trouble running gobblers out of my camp without having some psycho looting all my stuff. Since the Krampus update I've killed maybe 5 rabbits, 1 redbird, 1 beefalo. So I am scared he'll be appearing Soon, though I havent heard any sort of noise when I killed these things, maybe it is because my map is still from before the krampus update? Is he not able to come until I've died and restarted again?
  22. Meet Wilbur Shott! (Still working on last name.) A character suggestion! Blurb: Wilbur is a southern raised man with a thing for animals and machines. His dad, where ever he is now, is a locomotive engineer and a gunsmith from the town they lived in and was fascinated by his father's work. He was being raised as a rancher but he never took the job seriously and often fooled around. He's usually wild and mischievous, but he is really kind. Specials: Beefalos don't seem to mind him shaving their fur, but doing it too much will aggravate them. You can shave 2 beefalos without them getting mad while they are awake, the third time is a risk. You can go for a third with a 50/50 chance of the beefalo getting aggravated. Once done, you cannot shave them while they are awake for 10 days as they will instantly get mad. The 10 day countdown starts as Soon as you shave the first beefalo. He can milk beefalos with no problem. Unless a calf is near. Right click with no tool in hand and a bucket in your inventory. Milk can be used to warm yourself via "cooking" it and then consumption. (I don't know how Winter the Devs mentioned will work exactly, but just throwing that in there.) He is really good with a lasso. (Lasso = 3 Ropes) He can lasso beefalo calves, hounds and spider queens (Will add to the list of creatures if there are more added, suitable to be lassoed.) to temporarily make them immobile. Spider queens can still birth spiders and attack if you stand too close. The hounds can still attack if you are too close also. The rope will pop off the creature after the time of it's use is over (usually 4-5 seconds) or if you kill the creature. The percentage of it used will lower 20%. Saddle Craft(?) (Not to sure if it'll work well. Same goes for the rest of the ideas) He can craft a special hat! (Sheriff Hat = 1 Straw Hat + 2 Rope + 1 Gold) Concept: Don't ask me how the material changed. Go stare at your miner's hat and smile. c: I can just kiss Wilbur! x) <3 (Will add/update more another time. I like this character now. <3 SORRY WILSON! You're still second best. e3e) Extra: Music: I was getting into the concept of my character and stumbled upon some possibly appropriate music: Sample choice, wow look at the price! It's to get the idea. This is the instrumental version: Roaring in the 20's and 30's From these fine fellows, The Texan Gypsies! Voice: If he were to be implemented, in which I highly doubt, but it's fun to go in depth with character development, his voice would be played by a harmonica as Toaster Fu suggested. I originally was thinking a violin/fiddle, but once s/he mentioned harmonica, just yes! Concerning his name choice: Also... Before anyone mentions it, I know there is a "Wilbur" supposedly already. But I chose it because of the Wright brothers and I wanted a first name not a surname, meaning I'm not using "Wright" as a name. Why the Wright brothers? Blame my father's hobby & why the heck not? If you want, you can also call him Wyatt or Wade. Wilbur Is currently having an identity crisis.
