  1. So my character is almost ready but i want to implement only one last mechanic in order to make it balanced. My character is able to eat the elemental food type (like rocks), I want to make it so that if the character doesn't eat at least one item of the elemental food type its hunger rate doubles until he does, will yall help me figure out how that can be done?... Because I have no idea hehe Thanks in advance
  2. Hello Everyone! Im working on a character that automaticly eats everything he has on him when his hunger gets too low until his hunger is full again. I have everything in place exept for the part where he actually eats any food he has. And i have no idea how to do this to be fair. Would someone be willing to lend me a hand?
  3. Having trouble wrapping my head around tying an announcer after having a character eating a particular object. I grabbed the code from the tallbird egg thinking it would help but sadly I'm getting no outcome. local function OnEaten(inst, eater) if eater.components.talker ~= nil then eater.components.talker:Say(GetString(eater, "ANNOUNCERNAME") ) end end Is there anything else that needs to be defined?

Hey-o so I barely use forums buuuut- I'm trying to make a personal custom modded character for well, myself; and one of his traits is that he can eat basically any food without problems (example- Raw meat, I'd expect raw/cooked Monster meat wouldn't effect him too.) but with the code I've tried nothing seems to give him either health / sanity back from eating the items or at least preventing the loss of health / sanity in the first place. Can anyone help me out? I'm able to post pictures of what I have if that would help too, I tried to modify some code from another mod that allowed the eating thing that would perfectly fit him if it actually worked. Edit: Tried also copied over the code from Webber (strong stomach) but not seeing any difference too.
  5. I currently have a mod that adds in a food item that only wx-78 can eat. I am trying to make it so when he eats it he gets the lightning strike perks (emit light, bonus speed, etc). I can't find how the lightning strike is applied to wx-78. Any attempt to call wx-78's onlightingstrike function gives an error "attempting to call nil value". I can't figure out how the lightning strike triggers wx-78 to overcharge so I can apply it to the prefab I have.
  6. So, a few things that I'm trying to take examples from to apply to whatever I'm working on (Bernie and Willow's Lighter), but I cannot find code for. I want to try things for myself before asking any proper code advice, but for me right now, the biggest problem is finding what is where: 1) Where is it mentioned and what function makes it so that the lureplants can't gobble up the chester eyebone? I tested it, and they don't eat it, but I cannot find a reference for any code anywhere really when looking for it; to my knowledge, it's not in eyeplant.lua, eyebone.lua, digester.lua or eater.lua. 2) Where is it mentioned and what function makes it so that the eyebone drops upon the player exiting? 3) Where is it mentioned and what function makes it so that a Woodie player cannot hold onto more than one Lucy the Axe? 4) Where is it mentioned and what function makes it so that you can light things on fire with Willow's Lighter?

So upon creating and finishing my two characters, For the next update I wanted them to be able to consume and/or gain abilities from specific inorganic objects, Is there such code i can put into one of the lua files to do this? and which file? Also, How do i change his overall speed (not the one that you get when you spawn from a ghost??)
