[MORE DETAILED AND UPDATED INFORMATION IS HERE] About a month ago, when I was looking at a wiki page about cut content, and was very interested in what the game was like in 2012. Strangely enough, but I managed to get a lot of information: First of all, in the archives І found many early Steam game builds, although it took more than three weeks to find them, and it was worth it. So let's get started with them: (I will describe only November 13/14/18/27/30 and December 11 game builds, I won't touch on the subsequent ones, because it will take a lot of time, and getting information about them is much easier compared to the above) First Steam Version Builds (13 Nov 2012 - 11 Dec 2012) 11 December Build (Naughty and Nice) 27 November Build (The Birds and the Bees & Dogs That Want to Kill You) and 30 November Hotfix 13 November Build (Enter the Gobbler!) and 14/30 November Hotfixes Differences from the latest versions that I noticed: The camera can only be rotated on four sides. When you press the spacebar, the character not only collects resources near him, he also attacks the enemies. Attack on the F key does not work. Yeah, it's incredibly difficult for me to keep my army of smallbirds alive with the hounds. I can't just place a bunch of bee mines and let them kill the hounds, because my smallbirds trigger them.

100 Days! I finally beat my record. (Which was 60 Days.) But now, i've gotten much farther than i expected... 100 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem, so i decided to kill myself on Day 101. (Kinda regret that, but whatever.) So i officially survived 100 Days. And i thought to myself... "If I'm gonna beat that... I'm gonna have to have a good character..." So i thought and thought and thought... Until i decided to look to you guys. So, what do you guys think? Which character should i go with? Which one next? Tell me! Don't be shy! I have been playing on Chrome since I bought Don't Starve, but am sick of playing it within a browser and want to activate it on Steam, but when I try to generate a Steam key, it says I can only do it by buying the game on the Chrome store??Where did I buy it from if I didn't buy it through Chrome (I only installed Chrome so I could get this game)??Also, I only have the 1 Chrome key - is this correct?Thanks in advance

I bought the game through Steam and wish to also play in Chrome but it won't take my key. Please don't tell me I have to buy the game twice!Should perhaps be a verification question so you can use both.

Hey folks, I have a dont starve key for chrome, and I just wanted to trade with someone for dont starve on steam. Any takers? Would be grateful.

I don't think there should be a mulitplayer but a nice dual survival co-op would be nice and not LAN either cause I dont live close enough to people to play it with them so I believe that there should be a co-op dual survival aspect to the game where you can just invite your friend and start a game together.

I purchased this game about a month ago, pleased to see it had a Chrome version (since the Steam version doesn't work on Mac). I got about 7 or 8 very awesome gameplay hours in before getting hit with the Nacl crashes (http://forums.kleientertainment.com/showthread.php?457-quot-Error-Module-load-error-quot-MASTER-THREAD). I've waited patiently and will continue to do so, however the lack of apparent progress on this problem has gotten me worried. Will this game ever work again on my system? I wouldn't be surprised if I had any programming skills to speak of, that I could get it running again. However this is not the case and I haven't been able to play this wonderful game, that I payed for, and I haven't seen anything here on the forums to assure me that it will in fact ever work again. Now before you go ahead and lock this thread down, I'm not going to ask for technical support but rather this: Can I expect a refund? I'd rather have the game and play it (obviously), so I guess what I'm looking for is some sort of guarantee that either A) I should just be patient and wait for a fix (and a working Steam version would be just dandy) or B) In the case of a fix not happening, receive a full refund. I hate to be asking this but as a consumer I can't help but feel outrage at the current state of my product. Thank you.

Bug Submission Please choose a category [Graphics] Platform SteamVersion Number 71378 Issue title All Display Options Grayed Out Steps to reproduce With the exception of bloom, all display options in the settings area are grayed out. Describe your issue I'm playing the game on a Bootcamped iMac with Windows XP and current video drivers installed (256mb ATI Radeon card). I can enabled and disable Bloom, but all other display options including Fullscreen, Display, Resolution, and Refresh Rate are grayed out with no ability to change or toggle. The result of this is that the windowed mode is an awkward size on the screen. I can maximize the window, but if I do, the mouse hitbox moves far left of cursor.

Hey everyone, a quick question : would it be possible (ever?) to play the game on Chrome even though I bought the game on Steam? This would be an advantage (for me at least) and would enable players to enjoy the game wherever they may travel (away from their main Steam machine, most of the time a desktop computer). Bug Submission Please choose a category [Gameplay] Platform [*]Steam Version Number 70828 Issue title Bee Mine serious bug Steps to reproduce Bee mines doesn't deplete while kept in backpack they swarm out kill almost everything so free loot, unless you misclick a bee with a weapon equipped Describe your issue I built 10 bee mines and kept them in my backpack and in my normal inventory in order to unleash them all on 3 spider queens. While going to the battlefield i stopped near pigmen to recruit them as cannon fodder. While approaching the first pigmen (while giving him meat) bees started to swarm out in increasing number and wiped out all the village My bee mines didn't get depleted from that and kept spawning bees I rushed straight to the spider queens and with the same tecnique (going very close to them) i spawned something like 300-400 bees. all attacking spiders and everything that come close to me,neutral creeps and spiders alike. Seems that this bug can affect the difficulty of killing almost anything, nothing can stand against a swarm of bees that size without the effort of gathering them one by one.

A little broke ATM and am a bit tired of restarting every 16 minutes. Anyone got a spare key to give away?

Hardcore challenge with Willow I was also very interested in trying to play the game in a hardcore way. I didn't want to craft any item and see how far I could go, and therefore I chose Willow who is the only character (to my knowledge) that allows to survive without crafting anything. What I don't like with crafting a torch is that it can be used as a weapon. Without it you either have to fight with your fists (ctrl + click) or to find a tentacle (quite challenging!). I had never used the new map generator before and I had to kill my previous character to do so :'( Here is my world after 21 days of survival After 12-13 days I had pretty much discovered all the map following the coast. But it felt still too easy so I went back and tried to discover the inside parts as well. As you can see I managed it except for the highly dangerous swamps. I didn't feel like doing an extra trip inside, just to discover... more swamps. The path was linear except for two bridges between zones 3 and 4. I didn't realized it was that linear before I got the whole picture! As in potatoe's map the beefalos' area was at the very end and I think it would have been very hard to play it in a "regular" way. If I think of a newbie player it must be very frustrating to see items that require manure and not being able to find it. I think at least 10 days of intensive search would be required to find the beefalo area. As you can see there is a tiny island with no bridge. Here is a picture of myself after 21 days In this picture I also wanted to show that it is actually possible to hunt birds with only one's fists. You have to bait them with seeds, then attack them (ctrl + click) at the right timing as you would do with another weapon. Three hits are required to kill it but it's not especially difficult since the bird is stunned after the first hit (like when you free a bird from a bird trap). It may not appear very important but this source of meat made my survival much easier for several reasons: - Meat allows to "hire" pigs, that can fight many monsters (giving out more meat or just protecting yourself) - Meat can bait hounds and many other monsters to win time during a fight - Meat has a quite good health / food ratio (I ate like 200 flowers beside that XD) Bugs / Comments - No pig king (assuming that it's not on the last island, which I don't believe) - No mandrake - I was able to fight a tallbird with my fists while it wasn't fighting back (I don't know the reason) - Many many many spiders, in almost every areas. - "only" five bee hives or so. The numerous graves This is a little something appart from the hardcore challenge. I am not a big fan of graves myself. I keep wondering: "why would there be so many grave on a otherwise inhabited island?". Does Maxwell dig them each time he leaves somebody on the island?? I have no clue of that. It might as well be on purpose. Anyway, I think that digging graves (which I haven't done in this challenge of course) shouldn't give anything else than......... bones! Bones could perfectly be included in the meat effigy's recipy btw. I don't find any interest in the items you dig from the graves and the amount of gold you can get from them (imagine with the 100 graves of this map...) ridiculous! Overall I likes the way the islands were splitted. It added difficulty and gathering ressources from an island to another must be much more rewarding.

As far as I know, this is already missing: In the Chrome version of the game it would be very comfortable (if it's possible at all from the point of view of a developer) to restore the 'F11' - the fullscreen button by default in Chrome - for toggle the browser between normal and fullscreen mode(s) while playing.

I don't use Steam. (I'm not looking to start another "why steam is good/bad conversation, nobody needs that; I just don't use it.) I'd gotten the impression I could download Don't Starve and play it by itself. After I bought it I was surprised to learn, when looking for a version I could download and just play, that there is not one available. I either have to go through Google or Steam, I can't just play it from my computer. If I'd known this, I probably would not have bought the game. I'm requesting a standalone version that I can download once, and play from my computer without needing to connect to Google's app store (or start up Steam, or anything else where the game is shackled to another service). I really, really dislike having games I have paid for being chained to other programs/services. I'm tempted to ask for a refund and revocation of my license, especially since I'm also trying to get away from Google's services. So yeah, my suggestion/request is a standalone version of the game. For some reason when I try to install the game on steam it says "DOn't starve is not available on your current platform" (I have a mac book pro version 10.8.1), so I just play on chrome. I was hesitating to start all over again from the beginning to get the december updates, but since I'm on day 262 I was a bit reluctant... Is there a way to get all the updates (tallbirds, bird cages, football helmets, spider queens, etc) without starting all over and making a new world? Just wondering, cus some people suggested I "download" them on my current game instead but I had no idea how. (

I'm having some trouble unlocking it within Chrome, I go to the App Store and it starts to download but gets stuck on common.zip then never progresses.

Hello everybody. I was really succesfull in finding a good camp quite close. Able to go the semi vegetarian(I guess monster meat is still meat) I have a about 12 farms, 30 grass plants, 30 twig plants, 5 bee houses. I am not too good with cooking but I have noted that monster meat is really easy to come by, as there are several egg nest near the swamp. Combined with the honey I now have 1.5 boxes full with honeyd ham and enough supplies to probally make 2-3 more boxes full. I am growing mostly Eggplants as I heard its second best food to make but I often get rattatoeie(sp?) or other useless stuff. My place is right above a relative large buffaloo area, able to get 20 poo every " respawn". About 1 hour to the north I can harvest Meat and Silk for sick amount. about 50 each run of each. West is the pig King if I need some gold, however I don't want to invoke the wrath of goat - I gave him my left overs of digged up graves. Bit further is a huge stone field if I need stones/gold. However I have now everything in abundance (lowest amount would be a handfull of fireflies which I am activaly using to create paths in the darkness). I have used the mining helmet to speed up the progress so I could work at night too, but I'm kinda at a dead point thanks to my accident. I have layed an entire mine field around my camp, about 40 bee mines and placed monster meat at each of them to lure the dogs in. As expected the mines exploded, what didn't go as expected is that actually live bees came out of it and that the dogs ate all the meat, and thus triggering all the mines before the bee's killed them. Now I have my professional army consisting of roughly 200 bee's in and around my camp kinda decimating anything that looks threatfull(except me luckily). Anyways back to my question: What should I do now? I have enough food income to last for ages, enough tentacles and log armor to withstand anything that might break through 200 bee's. Everything is in abundant and I switched to wilson to grow a beard - but is there anything that I " should" be doing? As stated I try not to hurt wildlife because I dont wantto invoke the goat. It's just getting on my nerves now! haha I got killed by bees; I got killed by wolfs; then I got killed by spiders; I got killed by tree-guard; after I got killed by tentacles; I got killed by pig-monsters; just now I got killed by unfortunate bee-mine experiment... MAXIMUM DAYS SURVIVED SO FAR: 21 (!) (with all the latest patches) I guess I just like to get myself into trouble; after playing 5 days I tend to think I'm Chuck Norris - don't know why?
