  1. Art done by yours truly
  2. Based on a song: "I Hope you Die in a Fire" by Grand Commander.
  3. wxwb.mp4 Yeah, I was bored. When you think about it, they both turned inhuman because of Wagstaff, so...
  4. Awhile back i made a theory saying maxwell was william afton and it had literally no flaws at all. But then the wx trailer came out and now it is canon that wx is william afton. They both transfer their soul to an exo skeleton. Plus we also see wagstaff burn wx's yet wx is still around cause he always come back. My final damning piece of evidence is that look at this WX William Xafton with all this evidence it would be foolish to consider that wx is not william afton and i hope i was able to convince you.
  5. I think WX78 must lose his sanity while on a raft. He is afraid of water, and when she is around him, he will definitely be scared. And the music module will become more useful
  6. So WX is basically Deon or Yolandi, since they both got their minds transferred into a mechanical body through a headset device. This has to be based on this movie.
  7. (This is not a theory, just something interesting to imagine, since I'm still hyping after WX-78's rework.
  8. Hello! You know why I'm here, and I know why you're here so let's get down to examining WX-78's lore. So in order to contextualise the short better, we should first look at the Compendium entry since that provides us with a general timeline on what happened. WX-78's Compendium Entry As we can see, the text in it has been manipulated, or isn't found. We can discern that the perfectly coherent ones at the least are from WX's manipulation of the info (RESOUNDING SUCCESS, and A SHORT-SIGHTED FOOL, AFRAID OF PROGRESS). Given the need they had to insert that, we can infer that the experiment regarding WX was likely a failure, and that Wagstaff, seeing the risks, put a stop to further testing. The binary at the end translates to 'TOO LATE TOO LATE TOO LATE', which we'll see the context for as we analyse the short. Now with regards to the short: The first noteworthy things are 1. The initial perspective of these memories are from a human. We see them alongside Robert Wagstaff experimenting on small animals, with a rat being implanted with cybernetics and being extremely irritable or erratic. The human notes this and theorises the organic components are to blame for the behaviour, rather than the cybernetics themselves. It's important to note that as it shows the mentality this person is going into these experiments with. Rather than the surgically implanted cybernetics on the mouse being the cause of erratic behaviour, their theory is the organic parts are to blame for it. Next we see the human looking at blueprints for WX-78, putting on something onto their head and next thing you know, our perspective changes to WX-78, with Wagstaff seeming surprised on the results of the experiment. Something important to note is it LOOKS like their empathy module isn't damaged unlike earlier in the short while Winona is repairing it. It could potentially be an oversight, it could be that it was damaged during the scuffle in the short, or it could be that it was tampered with before the events of the short but after these memories we see. It's important to note that Klei states the empathy module working is what causes the memories to re-emerge in WX and they would have preferred them buried, so it's possible at some point WX deactivated their empathy module as they saw it as a needless organic component to themselves. It's at this point things get a bit messy and we need to take a much closer look at what's going on. We see Wagstaff and WX working on something, which given the design of, we can infer is the portal to the Constant that Wagstaff eventually goes into in Winona's short (shoutouts to Mocha the Hyper on the Dont Starve discord for pointing this out). We see WX looking at their hands while they flash from their now robotic appearance to their formerly organic selves, followed by Wagstaff seeming concerned about WX. It's at this point I think is when Wagstaff sees the risks of the experiment and discontinues it, as WX seems to be somewhat unaware of their nature as an organic or their mind is having trouble being compatible with an inorganic body, perhaps. If this is the point in the Compendium where it's discontinued, then we can infer that next would be that WX, trying to perfect their work, works in secret on themselves until Wagstaff finds out. We see WX destroying notes on themselves and throwing them away, proceeded by Wagstaff confronting them in a room full of other WX-78 models. Based on the Compendium, it would seem that WX was created more models of themselves to try and perfect their model and upon seeing that Wagstaff would find out, attempted to destroy the evidence. Wagstaff confronts them with disapproval and WX throws a machine part at them, possibly in anger, to which Wagstaff returns a displeased expression Lastly in these memories, we see Wagstaff burning the WX-78 models, which likely tie into WX's campfire/firepit line of "IT REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING", showing that again, these memories were buried at some point. Then after seeing WX's reflection flicker between them and their former human appearance, we see Wagstaff looking at them with the same discontent expression as before, this time as WX is being pulled into the Constant. Due to Wagstaff's expression, WX's secret work on themselves and their lashing out at Wagstaff, it could be inferred that the argument ending with Wagstaff pushing WX into the portal in anger as they were deemed dangerous due to how their mannerisms had become. Whether their mannerisms changed due to the empathy module being inert due to WX's interference to try and perfect themselves, or the empathy module was deactivated once they came into the constant so as to forget these memories however, who can say. What matters is who WX once was was no longer who they are now, and that they displayed erratic behaviours themselves, even without organic components. It's at this point WX in the present day rips out their empathy module and destroys it, burying the memories once more and forever more, with the events to them being that Wagstaff couldn't see the potential they had and that they, WX, were in the right the entire time. That about wraps up the analysis and my interpretation of events, I hope you all enjoy the read! Tune in next time when Wickerbottom gets revealed to be 5 cats in a trench coat. EDIT: @-Variant brought one last thing to my attention that WX's voice files are referred to as 'Woodrow' rather than WX, possibly being the engineer/scientist's original name. Now these voice files are ANCIENT and who WX was back then may not be who they are now, so keep in mind this could have been an oversight by Klei. Note: who they once were doesn't mean it's who they are now. So please don't use this as an excuse to refer to WX as he/him. If you do that under the pretense they wouldn't care, you gotta admit referring to WX as such because of who they were as an organic would bother em.
  9. Who made the music for WX's short? It was really good! Probably some of my favorite to come around recently. I'm honestly disappointed the little song at the end of the short wasn't used as a title theme.
  10. I think it would be very interesting lore-wise if Maxwell would lose sanity from the Chorusbox Circuit's ragtime music, because he was listening to this music for a long long long time while suffering on the throne, so it may bring back very bad memories. I don't think it will mess up the balance, since Maxwell doesn't need WX's sanity regen as he has his own, and it would be a nice little detail. What do you think?
  11. I've been thinking about the idea of WX having a little battery for charging on the go for a while now, and another thread I saw inspired me, so here's some things I thought of. I just wanted to get these off of my mind Small Battery WX starts with this recipe available Cost: (I'm pretty bad with costs) 2 gold, 2 nitre, 3 rocks It's sort of like a portable lightning rod. You're able to place it down, and it'll have an antenna that sticks up. It takes priority over normal lightning rods, and holds 2 charges (each charge would give +50% durability, and each drink would take -50%). After it's fully charged, the antenna will go down and it'll no longer serve as a lightning rod. You can pick it up and drink it down for your charge. Super Battery Requires an Alchemy Engine to craft Cost: 1 electrification circuit, 3 small batteries, 1 backpack The super juiced up version of the small battery. It holds 6 charges, and unlike the small battery, will continue to act as a lightning rod even when maxed out, though it will not gain any extra charge. It's able to gain charge through means other than lightning, such as being near one of Winona's generators. Unique to this battery, it can be worn on your back, which will instead use its durability (it's charge durability, meaning it doesn't break at 0) to double the rate of your natural recharge speed. Taking any excess charge (e.g. drinking milk) while wearing this will instead give the charge to the battery's durability.
  12. I'm getting conflicting opinions on what people want from this rework, some people think he needs a better drawback, some think he needs more slots/ better circuits etc. I thought about placing a "both" option but I wanted to see which one people would prefer if given the choice.
  13. While I’m not able to play in the Beta for WX78’s rework I do have a basic understanding of how it’s new circuits work, and there’s one in particular to me that stands out: The Health Regeneration one. Currently people say it sucks, because in order to get it you need Royal Jelly Beans and by that point you could’ve just munched the Jelly Beans themselves & the healing is supposedly too low. However.. what if we instead just made WX78 have health Regeneration built in as a unique passive ability?, making its gameplay unique & unlike any other (closest you’d get is maybe Wigfrids Vampirism) If health passively regenerated we could then be able to just get rid of the circuits that boost its health to higher numbers, (I could live off just 50hp if it passively regenerated.. but a more reasonable value would be 100-150) getting rid of the Health increasing circuit allows lead way for a new more interesting perk, randomly spit balling ideas here: but what about a Power Zapper circuit? An AoE Emp like pulse that steals power from nearby Electronical items and Rejuvenates WX78 power? (examples would be lightning rods, Winona structures, Electric Eels from cave ponds, and Clockwork enemies) This would in turn open WX78 up to being able to have a battery that allows socketed circuit abilities to perform better or worse based on how much charge the battery has, for example when fully juiced up WX’s Moggles circuit works flawlessly, but when it dips down to 40% power or lower it flickers in and out (same way Wendy can stand in complete Darkness and will hear Charlie’s warning sounds but Abigail will fly back to Wendy’s side to restore light right before the attack) and at 0% Battery it obviously stops working until charged up again. When I read reviews & feedback on the current beta: Most people seem to feel the rework doesn’t offer much of anything new for WX’s playstyle (aside from the whole bio data scanning thing) Passive Health Regeneration could also mean being able to take the risk of healing using food and healing items removed from them as a character (increase the passive regeneration speed and you won’t even care about or notice this) This is very similar to Wanda’s rollback clocks.. except this would be passively part of who they are as a character. Maybe Food can be combined with another robot ingredient (like gears, frazzled wires or Oil) To create Bio-Fuel (which speeds up the Passive Health Regeneration) WX78 being a non-humanoid robot survivor opens up huge doorways to take them in a bold new direction, no one wants WX to still do mostly the same stuff it’s always done- we want a new and completely unique experience, While I can’t play Beta.. still most the feedback seems to imply it’s still just not unique enough- and I feel like the above suggestions would certainly go a good way to help in making the robot character even further unique in having its own playstyle. Would people be willing to play a WX that plays like this, Yes or No? If not can you please explain why not.. I think this would be fun, and further separate them from feeling like a human type character.
  14. I did not know rather to post this into the suggestions thread or the beta feedback thread, but since there is a currently active ongoing Beta.. I figured it went here. First off- I’m an Xbox player & therefore can’t participate in Betas, However something just sounds completely “Off” about WX78’s beta rework 600hp regardless of the means to obtain them is pretty high no matter the character your playing as. And I don’t care if old WX was way more broken, it still just sounds a bit much.. Now not too long ago during the Wolfgang rework Klei put a mechanic onto him that When getting hit he would lose Mightiness (a lot of people liked this mechanic but found it unfitting of Wolfgang) the last time we had this happen was Wendy’s Lower HP=Higher Damage which is now on Wanda. I think it would be cool if WX78 had this “Don’t Get Hit” Mechanic, and maybe by being hit it’ll fling gears/robot parts everywhere causing WX78 to lose stats (such as health core) unless the dropped gears are picked back up. Coincidentally.. this also would make even a 600 hp WX78 have a vulnerability in the PVP game mode (yes DST has a PvP mode, & I don’t care that it’s not the main focus of the game.. as long as any type of PvP mode exists then there should be at least a few things balanced for it.) With WX78 having the option between high health, or high speed.. Night Vision & Lowered Aggravation of Clockworks This is the single best character in the game (aside from Wanda) which would encourage a “Dont get hit” Mechanic. I’m not sure how well it would work in actual gameplay: but I mean Come on WX78’s Idle animation is having it’s arm literally falling off its body.. so i think it would be hilarious to see WX get hit and see sparks, gears and electrical wiring bounce out of its chest compartment.
  15. I was thinking about if Wagstaff should have some sort of special interactions and dialogues with WX-78 during the moon storm. Like, being shocked he sees them there, and leaving a little moon/fuse box slots upgrade behind afterwards, as a nice little gift for his creation. I don't think he should just not care about his abandoned experiment being in the Constant. He may even know that they are there, and that's why he doesn't react, but if WX-78 was a cancelled experiment, then I don't think that Wagstaff would care to check his location. That's why I think he doesn't know. A fuse box upgrade/moon circuit from him would be fitting too, as he is researching the moon powers and he created WX.
  16. Hey Champs! Recently I thought of this concept skin of Wx78 and decided to draw it in recent days. Note that this is not an April Fool despite being posted a day before it! What do you think? Feel free to leave suggestions and feedbacks! Skin Portrait: How it looks in-game:
  17. Hello everyone, I require help with making some tweaks with some characters (this is for a personal mod, but I MAY release it...) Wolfgang: When his hunger is: 76% - 100% = From +10% (76%) Up to +40% (100%) Faster mining and chopping speed. 40% - 75% = From 0% (40%) Up to +10% (75%) Normal mining/chopping speed. 39% - 0% = From 0% (39%) Down to -20% Slower mining and chopping speed. When hunger reaches 0 = he loses a lot more health (-5 per 2 seconds) Wes: His balloons give a +0.75 sanity per minute (the more balloons the more sanity gain) The radius is as big as 1 turf. Sanity Loss = Increased Speed: The bigger the sanity loss the bigger Wes' speed is, so: He gains a 5% speed bonus based on the sanity loss of every 10 sanity so if near a spider and he loses -25 sanity per minute that means that he gains 25/10 = 2.5, the 5% of 2.5 = 0.125, so he gains a +0.125 speed (the maximum speed he can get is 1.50 because bearger's sanity loss is 400 and if I made it so he has no speed limit he will gain +2 speed [3.00 speed] which is insanely fast!) Also the night/ dusk/ darkness/ evil flowers sanity loss does not effect the speed gain! WX-78 WX-78 can eat Electrical Doodads for +30 health, he can also eat frazzled wires for +50 health and +20 sanity (perfect for the ruins) Wickerbottom New Book: Space and planets: Costs 2 papyrus 3 moon rock nuggets Spawns 10-15 meteors near the player and has a 5% chance for a moon boulder to appear on every hit. Scrapped cause I can't draw. Webber: Spiders and spider warriors that are Webber's friends will not eat anything from the floor. Wendy: I wanna do something special for Abigail: I want to be able when I Right-Click her to change her status: But if you click Alt or Ctrl it will "remove" (temporarily while you have either one of those buttons pressed) the "Change Status" option and have the normal Examine / Attack / Walk To options. 1. Passive Abigail (She won't attack any creature at all! No matter what happens) 2. Aggressive Abigail (She will attack anything that gets close to her or anything that attack Wendy) 3. Protective Abigail (She will attack anything that hurts Wendy) The status will appear when you hover your cursor over her name, so instead of Abigail it will say: "Examine Aggressive Abigail" "Examine Protective Abigail" "Examine Passive Abigail", etc. Thanks overall. I hope someone can help me.
  18. Somewhere, in a world much like the one in Don't Starve lies characters who resemble the ones from the game we know and love. But past that appearance, almost nothing is the same. There personalities are opposite of the ones we know! (To an extent) Ask these characters a question! The ones you can talk to are: Wilson Willow Wolfgang Wendy WX78 Wickerbottom Woodie Wes Maxwell Sorry! No ROG characters. There will be references to ROG though. In fact, one character heavily relies on ROG logic. Please no direct shipping questions. (No 'Wilson! Go out with Willow' or 'Wolfgang! How is your love life with Wickerbottom', ect.) Relationships are okay though. (Ex. 'Wendy, how is your relationship with Maxwell?)
  19. Wait.. Robots have brains? I never.. oh wait, they don't. Why does WX-78 have sanity? I don't think if they had no emotions they'd start to go insane... Not nagging at the devs to change this, because that would be way to overpowered. So, if WX-78's sanity is removed, you could make it so that as WX-78 loses hp (or in a robot's term, power) the player will do less damage also. This may just all be a waste of time, but I'm just stating this.
  20. any ideas how to fix to run on the game ?
