  1. Its not rare to see topics about something people dislike in dst, new or old, good or questionable, but what about things you appreciate the most? What exactly makes Dont Starve special for you and not just another one indie game?
  2. I personally think that Wagstaff will be the next character because so far he is the biggest plot hole in the story and will put a lot together if he gets added to Don't Starve Together. I mean, Winona and him were both pulled into the constant only minutes apart.
  3. While. We don't know what Charlie is scheming. There are only three types of ending to any story. A- Happy ending B- Bittersweet ending C- Sad ending For me i am going to rule out option C. because I didn't get any hint that Klei is going to that route (in which the survivors remain on the Constant forever and no one will go back home) And don't starve is a dark game. Not the darkest game I came across but still a very dark game. So a going to rule out option A. that leaves us with only option B. So for a bittersweet ending we just need one Character not able to make it back home while the other Characters able to make it back home. So the Character I choose for that is Maxwell. I will give my reasoning as follows, but first I want to say my favourite Character is Maxwell he is just so intriguing I did not believe the theory that Wendy is Maxwell niece. Because Maxwell messed up enough by dragging himself and Charlie into the Constant. And now he messed up even more by bringing his only niece to the Constant. I mean if Wendy was some random girl Maxwell brought into the Constant that would be a messed up but if said girl is his only niece, then that would be a huge messed up. And I could say that Maxwell did not have any Photo of Wendy, so he did not know that she was his niece when he brought her to the Constant but even then. It is still a very big messed up on Maxwell part. And Maxwell exposure to the Codex Umbra and the Nightmare Throne caused his personality to change like being egomaniac. But he is still aware of his surrounding and what he is doing for example his lines at the end of Adventure Mode. But Charlie seem to have split personality when she grabbed her sister And now let us talk about Charlie. She seemed to care about Maxwell a lot. For example, she spent about 45 minutes in his apartment trying to look for clues about him because she "haven't heard from him in days" and she suggested that they can stay at her family cabin if he wants to stop doing shows. And that very generous offer from a lady in 1906 (so let that sink in) and yes Maxwell also cares about her, he protected her from the Night Hands when she was in his apartment. And some of you may of think of me as a shipper but if anyone me about Maxwell and Charlie relationship I would say it is 50/50. Maybe they are two people that are on good terms with each other. Or that there was a possibility of a relationship to blossom. And I use the word "possibility" because things went downhill for them after the final act. Even if what happened on the final act was not intended by Maxwell. So The aforementioned points about Charlie was just to give a context of how big Maxwell messed up. So for him to sacrifice himself in order for the other Characters to return home. And from him to set things right. And it is also poetic that everything started with him and everything ended with him. I think that kind of ending is very befitting of don't starve. But then again, this is what I think. What do you think ?
  4. Celebrating recent 2021, hopefully everyone have a great holidays! What skin do you like the most in the winter collection? Also tell which skin, if any, you would like to have a bit of visual improvement.
  5. What do you think about rework frequency? Don't forget to write your opinions too! In my opinions I really hate the situation of rework system. Updates just keep coming but we stucked in few characters of game. Reworks changes characters so much (positive) and make them fit game more. I mean I hate Wurt but I played with her for hours just because of she reworked and I really like her playstyle (I hate merms, not anything personal kiddo). But unreworked characters MOSTLY can't get off from the shadow of the reworked ones. Most of them don't have any point to play with them anymore. Webber was a funny character but now he is useless in team bc of Wendy and Woodie. Personally I don't let my friends play with him. WX sound like supercool death machine and he has best skins of entire game. But now he don't have any point except eating all of the gears for tanking. Ah sorry I forgot about his speed when he live like a parasite with Wicker. I kick robocops Or Wilson. Personally I kick them too bc only new starter arsonists pick him lol. We have 7 unreworked characters and we just get 2 rework per year. I mean someone will have to wait for 3 years to play with his favorite character. Probably I'm the one of them bc my buddies are Maxwell and Wilson. See you 1095 days later. Edit tl;dr: I don't want to get one rework per day. I want Klei should finish their reworks first, even if it's gonna be one update per three months. Then they could continue their content updates. Also I think that would be better. If you think they that's not right, go ahead and write the reason. That's why I opened this thread as pool.

  7. I love don't Starve to death and i have around 900 hours between both Singleplayer and Multiplayer. However i can't say that i didn't use guides from the outside to make further progress on my game. After playing with a friend that came in blind, i realized that a decent heap of content from the game was beautifully designed so that new players could figure stuff out on their own by browsing the crafting menus and experimenting with the items and mechanics. However i am somewhat concerned that some stuff isn't really easy to infer blind and vanilla, like the entire fuelweaver questline (namely the shadow pieces, which a player could spend hours oblivious to since it would be kind of rare for a player to hang out around clockwork statues on a new moon) or beefalo taming, which requires top notch knowledge of the mechanics behind it for it to work. Thankfully, DST has an amazing and insightful community, but i think it would be nice if the game threw some bread crumbs so that players get a little pushed into what to do on those instances (sort of like the cookbook streamlined cooking and the farmhat makes the new farm mechanics a bit more clear). For the beefalo problem, a native way to analize how far you're into taming could work, and maybe a hunger widget when you're riding them. for the more cryptic stuff like the shadow pieces, i believe leaving a hint through a rhyme of some sort deep into the ruins could work. Something that hinted at the fuelweaver needing a heart and relating that to clockwork statues. What do you all think? Are there more things that you think could be streamlined without babysitting the players? (My best example of a balance between helpful yet not spoonfeeding is the cookbook).
  8. It's a simple poll. Which do you think is harder to survive, winter or summer? Personally, I think that winter is harder to survive, because the things that you require to survive winter are much harder to acquire than those for summer. So, what do you think?

  10. One day on the forums, I read about a new mob that supposedly hunts the player about the map. The eyelid-raising part of this new creature was that it was hard to kill, not impossible to kill. At this moment, I realized how important options are in a survival game such as Don't Starve- how the possibilities for survival tactics can hinge on whether or not a mob is kill-able.Imagine a spider queen update that featured an invincible spider queen; the update would have made migration necessary and combat less important.My question is this: should all mobs (assuming the grue doesn't count; he's pretty fair right now) that Klei adds be a viable kill target for the sake of freedom of choice?
