Hello Everyone! Im working on a character that automaticly eats everything he has on him when his hunger gets too low until his hunger is full again. I have everything in place exept for the part where he actually eats any food he has. And i have no idea how to do this to be fair. Would someone be willing to lend me a hand?

I was wondering if it would be possible to create a character who only eats nightmare fuel to sustain his hunger, but loses a little sanity every time he eats it. Would this be possible?

Hello! I was wondering if I could get some assistance on a few perks. * How can you consume a normally non-consumable item and get your character to gain health from it such as Dark Petals? * Make it so your character has more/less natural protection due to the more or less hunger they have. i.e if a character was at 130/150 hunger they'd get a 25% buff from damage, but if they were at 15/150 hunger they'd take 30% more damage. * Can you inversely insulate a beard? i.e cools you in summer and winter instead of providing cold protection in winter * Instantly die at 0 hunger. Also I was working on making it so the character has increased damage at night, normal damage at dusk, and less damage in the day but the code I was using doesn't seem to work for DST. I'm creating a character with the following perk: *Eats a lot, but not often. For this, I have doubled the characters max hunger and decreased the hunger rate by 25%. To compensate, I want him to receive 25% less hunger from anything he eats. I've tried the following ways to accomplish this: The 'oneat' function (doesn't affect the actual eating, just fires when performed) Editing the GetHunger function (affected all characters despite the clause) see: http://forums.kleien...etables-values/ Editing the 'Eat' function. I'm not sure how sensible that was in the first place. Looking for advice or tutelage on the subject. More information can be provided if necessary. Thank you! - Dominic

I'm making way too many posts now that I've joined today, but its rather enjoyable and hopefully suggestions people love and would like adding, ahem, anyway read below. A slight problem I currently face in Don't Starve is the Starvation of Captured Animals, particularly Birds, although this also applies to Rabbits and Moleworms somewhat. (Although they can't be kept, they still "rot" in your pockets. Although releasing them into a Pen with no Food Source won't kill them.) I appreciate the change as it makes the game more "correct" and challenging, (as if a Bird could just sit there and never die hey?), however, I have no idea how long the bird can survive without food, so when I take a long trip out exploring or gathering materials, I return with a random feather next my cage and the impression that something is missing. My request is a Hunger Meter for Bird Cages when hovered over with by the mouse. This will allow me to get an understanding of when I need to feed the bird to keep it alive, and how much time I can spend away from camp if I want it to still be there when I return.
