  1. A mysterious island appears out of nowhere bringing new ways to grow bananas, renewable reeds more gears and new AWESOME craftings, but with it comes some big new annoyance. At the start of my "playthrough" I instantly (Like day 1 and really far away from the island) came across a monkey raid and after that I started getting scared: Isn't those monkeys kinda too strong? What if I'm just sailling for some fishes or looking for the lunar island for some Kelp and Stone Fruit early game? From my perspective it looks like a death sentence, and that makes me feel like never going into a boat ever again. But that just the start of my concerns, if I actually manage to kill those damn pirates I automatically get cursed, so I am kinda of obligated to go to this island fight annoying monkeys again, so I can get banana plants, then finally I can uncurse me by feeding the queen or I can just accept that I'm Wilson, but with fur and one less inventory space forever. The dock crafting seems extremelly expensive too, 4 Boards 1 Cut Stone 2 Stingers and a new resource behind a blueprint is really expensive for some premium turf. I guess that is to avoid 'griefers' on public servers but isn't it too harsh to other players? (Unless I'm wrong they are also permanent, so you can't undo your placing mistakes). So, what are you guys thoughts on this update? Do you think something should be changed? Do you feel like its worth it?

So I've seen more and more people over-time suggest a 'Lazy Deserter rework', especially after Wanda was released, this post is both for my idea to which I'll get to soon but also as a hub for klei to pick ideas from to make this forgotten structure used. My idea makes sure that Wanda's backtrek watches would still be a lot better in the long run, but also so people who don't like to play as her and/or play solo can have something similar. So, here's my idea: Lazy Deserters no longer need more than 1 player to function, making them useful in solo play and not wasting other's time in multiplayer. IF there are more than 2 Lazy Deserters in the world (across shards counts) then the structure would teleport the player to the nearest one of the same gem/ or default if no gem is inserted. And last, Lazy Deserters would have the ability to have a gem socketed into them for easier linking, both across locations and across shards, all gemmed and not gemmed LD's would work the same, but couldn't work with other coloured gems/ a gemmed one with a non gemmed one, they just wouldn't work unless there's a LD of the same gem kind/ungemmed. Feel free to correct every single grammatical issue.

Before you start reading: I do know you can weave skins individually, that you can get spools from Klei points and skins from daily and weekly drops; and on top of this that you can buy certain bundles which give more spools than others to amass them (which is what I usually do) but it takes time to unravel all of those items, and I would definitely be more inclined towards buying more skins if I could choose which ones I'd like to get. So I was looking at the shop and saw many item skins that I like, but to get them i would have to pay for the entire bundle. Are there any plans (or has this ever been discussed) to create customizable skin bundles? Would they be profitable? I have no idea, but here's my reasoning. The store could offer different tiers of custom bundles, which offer a specific number of skins or skin sets. In essence, I could buy the first tier of customizable bundles and choose any character skin set + any elegant / 2 spiffy item skins. For example: any Victorian skin set from any character+ a Forge S1 item. The second tier could allow you to pick 2 skin sets + 2 items. And so on... Or they could even let you pick ONLY character's skins sets, or ONLY items. Each tier would cost more depending on how many skins you'd like to get, and they would cost more than buying the entire bundle. For example: The WX deluxe wardrobe bundle with 5 skins sets costs $10.99, but a custom bundle with 5 skins could cost 15-ish or so... I'm sure klei can check what price would give them more revenue, I have no idea and I won't pretend I know about making a game's microtransactions profitable. What I do know is that I'd pay more to get 5 skins that I actually like instead of less for only 2 or 3 skins that I'd use + some spare spools. This is kind of implemented with characters, as you can get the skins individually, but there isn't a way to buy the items, and you don't get any benefit from buying them this way. With custom bundles however, you could get a small discount for buying a bigger bundle (Instead of buying 1 skin, why not 2 + an item with an X% discount?) The starter packs (which offer skins from different skinlines + a few items) and the "X's deluxe wardrobes" (which include all of the reworked character's skins) are a great way to add diversity, but you still don't get too much variety: Starter packs are great for newcomers, but the problem with them is that, even though you get the new item skins, you may get a repeated skin. For example: I got the 2019 starter pack, but I already had some of those skins. And the deluxe wardrobes are great for people who always wanted to have the tradeable skins but wouldn't want to pay the steam market price's. But again, they don't solve this problem of getting more varied skins, as you only get skins for 1 character. (In a custom bundle you could get 1 skin per character, all from different skinlines, Example: GoH WX-78 + Survivor Wendy + Triumphant Willow and perhaps a few items) TLDR and in case it wasn't clear, what the bundles would allow you to buy is: -Any ITEM skins + character's skin sets (As I stated: Any Victorian skin set from x character + a Forge S1 item) -Multiple ITEMS skins from different sets (IE a Forge S1 item + a Hallowed Night item skin) -Multiple characters skin sets from different sets (GoH WX-78 + Survivor Wendy + Triumphant Willow) All of these chosen by the player AND with increasing costs (and discounts) the bigger the bundle is. What the custom bundles would NOT allow you to do is: -Mix and match character skin sets (You can't buy a Wickerbottom set with a Victorian head + a forge outfit) -Buy a character's head with any other character's outfit. (Any Wickerbottom head + any of Woodie's outfits) Anyways, I just wanted to know if this was ever discussed, what is your opinion on it, and all that... If you'll excuse me I have to go back to unravelling forge repeated skins from back when the bundle was on sale
  4. What types do you think they would mainly use? I got curious about this after playing alot of Pokemon HeartGold randomizer as of late(As a means of overcoming childhood trauma). If the survivors of the constant were pokemon trainers, what types do you think they'd use the most? This is what came to mind for me, I couldn't think of any for some of the survivors. Wilson: Normal types Willow: Fire types Wolfgang: Fighting types Wendy: Ghost types WX78: Steel types? Wickerbottom: Psychic types? Maxwell: Dark types Winona: Electric types(Was thinking Electric/Steel, like Magnemite for example) Wurt: Water types? Webber: Bug types? Discuss!
  5. Something I find especially interesting to think about when it comes to Don't Starve and it's lore is how the organisms in the constant work and what secrets may be hidden behind them. Something I've noticed in particular is that there are a lot of critters that are fusions of different animals found in the normal world, like catcoons, moosegoose, etc. And for a while I thought that was just a silly fun gimmick, but when Webber's animated short came out I couldn't help but wonder if there was maybe some sort of dark force that was taking overworld organisms and fusing them with one another to make entirely new species. Because while before his short Webber was implied to just straight up be eaten by the spider, but when you take a closer look it seems more like they fused. Which honestly makes more sense in the grand scheme of things. So what if Webber just met the same fate that other creature's like the catcoon met? And what about the other fauna and flora that aren't necessarily fusions? I think that the constant has been sucking in all kinds of things long before Maxwell was even like, born, and all those critters adapted into the constant, often into weird monsters because of magic being like, a part of it's ecosystem. I know that was a lot of rambling and likely didn't make much sense but does anyone have any thoughts about this idea they want to share?

  8. Welcome to the suggestions thread for the "Up And Away" mod! Have an idea for a mob, item etc. that you think would be a good addition to the mob? Then this is the place for you! Be sure to keep suggestions as short and detailed as possible, to prevent clogging and allow for better feedback on the idea. If a long post can't be helped then, please consider using spoiler tags. Also if it does, make sure to explain how your suggestion is affected by the Static mechanic (think Nightmare cycle from ruins). Remember to be nice about others' ideas. If you don't agree with a suggestion please reply with reasons as to why it wouldn't fit the game instead of just writing "This idea sucks!". This will prevent a lot of unneeded hassle. Also be positive towards feedback on your suggestion. If your idea would fit with some tweaks from suggestions, then it's better than it not being implemented at all. So I've been thinking about how certain Set Pieces fit into DST and I thought I'd make a little place for us to kick around a few ideas concerning the future of Set Pieces and how they fit into DST. Most of the Set Pieces are nice to get but don't make or break a world. Except for the Reed Trap. For most of us the Reed Trap is a necessity, most of us going through world after world searching for a Reed Trap before even considering making something of that map. And in DST time is more precious, if you want to make a proper world with your friends you need to tip-toe your way around all of your schedules to fit in a decent amount of game time, because of this most people don't want to bother world regening for hours trying to get the holy grail that is the Reed Trap. I for one feel like the more important Pieces should either be guaranteed to spawn or have an increased chance to spawn to - at least - speed up the tiresome process of trying to get certain Pieces. So I pose the question to you all, what do you think of how the current system of Set Pieces fits into DST? Should it be changed by Klei and if so how? Or should we simply suck it up and go with the RNG or perhaps even leave it to mods? Whadaya think guise? And if anyone is open to making a mod that does this, you should do that thing mkay.

Bug Submission Please choose a category [Crash] Platform Steam Version Number - Issue title Wont even start to load, crashes immediently Steps to reproduce I click play in steam, and a window comes up like the game was starting, but instead another error message comes up saying that it has stopped working and is looking for a solution and the game never even starts or shows a screen other then it being grey Describe your issue I click play in steam, and a window comes up like the game was starting, but with that an error message comes up saying that it has stopped working and that windows is looking for a solution. The game never even starts to load or show a screen other then just grey. It worked until the update that came out a few days ago, when right after the update it had this problem. I tried re installing twice and it has gone through another update since then and it still doesn't work. I have done nothing to my computer in that time. Pleas Help!
  11. I'm sure you guys get this question asked a lot but will their be a co-op mode? Me and my dad love this game and would love to see it co-op currently he gives it a 3/5 but if you make it co-op he would gladly make it 4/5! ( he has a website for his book where this review is posted ) someone please respond so that I can know!!!
