  1. Webber is a bland character ATM, a lot of people agree, you can get spider eggs from spider queens and tier 3 dens, spider hats also from spider queens can be used to allow you to be friendly with spiders (Thought not spider queens unlike webber) and instantly tame up to 10 of them, no monster meat required, considering the surprising ease of killing the spider queen compared to killing the bee queen. Spider dens can be crafted by webber, but are way too expensive, requiring 12 silk, 6 spider glands, and 6 PAPYRUS, not reeds, PAPYRUS. Doing the math, you need 24 reeds to make 1 den. The only useful features of webber right now are his ability to eat monster food without bad effects (not too useful though as why would you eat this anyway?), upgrading spider dens with 5 silk to upgrade to the next stage (which I bet 20% of ppl reading did not know you could even do) and his silky beard, which allows him to collect even more silk, and survive winter easier (though not as easy as wilson). I didn't could exact numbers, but seemingly half of the people who commented on my Rework discussion post all wanted webber, and half of the people who explained why said he was pretty bland. So here are my ideas on some LOOSE ideas for Webbers rework, I do not want to go too in depth and do Klei's homework for them after all, these are just some minor things I want to see in his rework. Webber can use spider dens to sleep: This idea originally came from the Treats For Webber mod on steam. And I'm gonna put a little spin on it. Webber could, if this feature was added, could have the option to sleep in spider dens, I was originally gonna say to use it like tents, but webber is a spider child and spiders typically sleep during the day. So I think he could do it at any time, during dusk or night has same effects as tent, but with infinite durability, and during day, could gain more sanity and health. I don't know if anybody will agree with me, but I also think Webber should not be able to sleep in Tier 1 Dens, but can sleep in 2 or 3 Tier dens, I think this should be the case for 2 reasons: 1: Webber is a big boy and he already has spider friends bunking with him, and 2, it encourages players to utilize his den upgrading ability. Nerf Webber's Spider Den craft: EVERYBODY saw this coming, and if you didn't you have either never played this character, or don't care about this character, if it's the latter, why are you even here? Webber's current Spider den craft is 12 silk, reasonable, 6 spider glands, generous, and let's see here 6 PAPYRUS. Yeah, no thanks. I think if they replaced the papyrus in the craft with monster meat or more silk or glands, it would be much more viable. Spalagmite Craft: I've seen a mod that implements this but I can't remember if it actually spawns spitters and cave spiders. I think spalagmites should be craftable by webber, which makes them able to be renewed only by webber, the craft would likely involve rocks, flint and probably a fossil fragment or 2. I say a fossil fragment because they can drop from spalagmites. Change spider types by feeding them specific items: I saw this idea from somebody but I can't remember who, they suggested we could change normal spiders into shattered variants with moonglass, and I agree with it, I remember they wanted spiders to turn into their cave variants with a batwing, but I disagree, I don't know what they may use for cave spiders, spitters, or dangling depth dwellers. maybe there should also be something to turn them into warrior spiders. I do think this would be cool, and it would allow people to customize what spiders they want without having to spawn shattered spiders in to use them outside of lunar island, and to get cave and spitter spiders without crafting a spalagmite, if they even make it so you can. These are some LOOSE Ideas for Webber's rework, what do you think? Let me know your opinions in the comments. I forgot to add this, but I also want a version of the shamlet mask to be craftable for webber, likely requiring either more beard hair and pigskin, or having a durability that drains while wearing it.

  3. Now my WX Rework was kinda garbage, but I have some ideas for this one actually. Not all these ideas came from me and me alone, some ideas were repurposed from other people, I will give credit where credit is due though. Portable Sci Machine and Alc Engine: Original Concept by @xxXolot As You read, the original concept for this was from @xxXolot and I love it. Wilson would start with a portable science station and can place it down, similarly to Warly's crockpot, it could look slightly different to differentiate it from a normal Sci machine, and can only be used by wilson. It would have an icon on the map, allowing dum dums to find it again if they accidentally leave it somewhere. They could craft a portable alc engine when they wanna take it to the next level requiring a portable sci machine to craft. Wilson is meant to be the starting character to start new players into the world of Don't Starve without confusing them with crazy character perks and downsides, like a ghost sister, being able to only eat certain foods, being a monster, as a wortox main even when I'm not playing Wortox, webber, wurt, and wormwood (is he a monster?), I always feel tense when I go around a pig, ready for it to chase me despite knowing it won't unless I spank it first. Wilson also teaches noobies about season changes, his beard giving you build in insulation for the coming winter, and the beard hair allowing you to create a unique form of resurrection. This should teach newbies how to prototype things. Being able to craft Mad Science Lab year round: I forgot who said this While this seems minor, it's pretty useful, allowing players to create infinite living logs with one experiment, give health, hunger, and sanity over time with another, and turn things into their lunar counterparts with another. This is really useful and Wilson Himself gives off a mad scientist vibe especially since his hallowed nights skin is a mad scientist. Maybe even give Wilson some exclusive experiments using the Mad Science Lab Some Sort of Shadow magic or something like that: Wilson Was on the nightmare throne before the events of DST, and Charlie releases him to take his place, surely his time on the nightmare throne affected him in some way, I mean look at Maxwell's vignette quote: "Maxwell's extended reign on the nightmare throne in ways we have yet to understand..." Now I don't expect him to be able to do things like split his mind or create things out of thin air, he wasn't on there nearly as long as maxwell. Perhaps some unique thing could happen when he goes insane, perhaps like @Mike23Ua suggested, beard hair on screen of an insane wilson player could turn into a beardling, or even a beardlord in the caves, due to beard hair dropping from them frequently. Idk how long Wilson was one the nightmare throne, maybe a couple months to a couple years, but it doesn't make sense that even if he was on there for 2 days he didn't change at all compared to maxwell. Wilson is a pretty basic character, and he should stay that way, most of these changes are either lore relevant or do something to help new and existing players play DST, Wilson's rework shouldn't add much, if it happens at all (I say after suggesting a portable sci and alc station, shadow magic and Mad Sci lab year round). While I don't necessarily think that this is the only way they could do a Wilson rework, far from it, most of my ideas were modified ideas of other people. IF Klei decides to do a rework of Wilson, we have to respect the choices they make and the changes Wilson succumbs to, even though some people's updates were kinda lackluster and could've been better *gestures to Wigfrid's Character Refresh*, I'm fine with what we got for the MOST part, but we can cover my opinion on certain character refreshes in another topic. I hope you like these concepts despite them basically being other peoples' and that you can provide more ideas for what they could do with Wilson in the commments.
  4. Hi everyone! Sorry if it seems like I just want to argue with arguments that don't hold up, Most of my info comes from other people, as I haven't survived longer than 30 days on a fresh server. (Pathetic I know) I know YoTB ended in march but I just started thinking about this stuff now so sorry for being a month late. For people who don't know what these Chinese New Year events are, or don't know what the chinese Zodiacs are, here a fast rundown: An emperor held a race for the animals, the first 12 who finished got a year in the zodiac calendar after them. The Winners are the rat, ox, tiger, bunny, dragon, snake, horse, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. and Since 2016/2017, Klei has been doing a Chinese new year event around Chinese New Year (I Know right?) Based on the current zodiac year. The events so far have been: Year of the Gobbler Year of the Varg Year of The Pig King Year of The Carrat Year of the Beefalo As you can see, Klei's already made about half the zodiac events. I will not cover year of the tiger as I have a post already about that particular event as it could prove to be more interesting. but if you wanna see my thoughts here's the link https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/forum/66-dont-starve-together-general-discussion/?do=add. Here are my predictions for the remaining events: Year of The Bunnyman (I mean come on, it's either this, or Year of the Rabbit.) Year of the Dragonfly (What other mob is there for a dragon?) Year of The Depth Worm (could be, it's snek like, suggested by @SirToastyToes) Year of The Clockwork/Clockwork Knight/Zeb (could be, clockwork knight turns out to be horse-like) Year of the Ewecus/Volt Goat (Some people say it was a sheep, others a goat, the goat is the most popular option I think, so I think it might be more likely YoTVG) Year of the Splumonkey (No other monkey mob in DST, excited to see what they do with splumonkeys with this one if I'm right :P) Year of the Catcoon (I know the cat didn't actually reach the end in the race, but if Klei wants to screw the zodiac calendar after this then go right ahead) The Year of the snek and year of the horse were suggested possibilities for their respective events that I didn't have a clue what they'd be. Hi everyone, Long time no see! this was something I wanted to talk about for the Longest time since, apparently I've never seen anyone else talk about it. and Since My Old PSvita is currently not working I can't really give any actual photo Evidence to my Claims, So this will just be a thing that People will have to take my word on until someone here that has a working Ps-Vita, actually shows photo proof of this, or we can get a confirm from a Dev about this occurrence. Edit: there is a screenshot of Wilson below but Wigfrid is still on the hunt! After watching so many Videos of Don't Starve WAY Back in 2014 I was finally able to get my hands on Don't Starve Exclusively for the PsVita since I was more used to playing console and handheld things rather then Pc, During the Time growing up with The PS-Vita version I noticed the... Model? (or Sprite- I don't really know) was a bit subtly difference then Wilson in normal versions of the game. Now It wasn't A huge Game breaking thing but enough to get your attention, Wilson's Iconic Eye Brows was shaped and given a lighter bold Giving Wilson, a more Concerned/Worried Expression on his face rather then normal, This also, made me usually Draw Wilson with a more Paranoid and cowardish personality back then when I used to Draw Don't Starve stuff. Until I switched to PS4 Don't Starve & Don't Starve Together. (If I can also recall from my memory as well) Wigfrid was also changed a bit too, As Her White Gaping eyes you would normally see on characters like Willow or Wendy had the sort of black dotted eye similar to Winona in her in-game appearance. Do I have any Evidence to prove that this was a thing? Sadly no since my model of the PSvita was the one with that weird Battery glitch so I can't open it long enough to get a screenshot and extract it, and The fact that Youtube videos of PS Edition Are so blurry it;'s hard to notice. But I hope that there are other's who've realised this while playing the Ps-Vita edition since, I felt like I've gone Mad feeling like I was the only person who really known about this. I wanted to Discuss about this With the Forums, or maybe if there's a Dev out there that worked on the PS-Vita edition of Don't Starve, Is there a reason for this small change, Maybe for Space or, not much detail was allowed on the Ps-Vita? Please I really want to talk about this!
  6. Know what would be fun? An official Klei CHALLENGE. I think the devs are super creative and had a lot of enjoyment from creating adventure mode; I've come up with a way to bring that back. This would be in the form of Klei's challenge of the month on the main menu. Custom worlds unlike anything that can be built with the current custom world presets, character restrictions, strange new initial spawn locations, crafting restrictions and a world goal. Perhaps an extra skin roll for your efforts? Well, that's for Klei to decide. Introduction Charlie thinks she can push each character to their limit and break their spirit. She will build a world that exploit each of the survivors weaknesses and shake them to their core. Can they overcome with their own strength? Community How cool would be to brainstorm with each other and proving our mettle as a community? Perhaps a unique skin on extremely hard challenges that make grown men cry? A way to fit in a small amount of content and discussion in between updates. Examples: Do the monster smash- Wurt only World- An enormous swamp biome at the center surrounded by small forests biomes. The swamp is infested with tentacles at every turn. No wild merms, a starting gold axe but there is no flint in the whole world. Goal- Clear the swamp of tentacles before Winter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trapped in the spider's web- Webber only World- Small island resembling a web and a few patches of resources. Hounds spawn daily, in small amounts at first such as 1-2 a day, to eventuality 10 every day. Goal- Reach the main Island which is a far larger spiders web with more resources and spider nests. Survive 10 days on the main island. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gumming up the works- Wx-78 Only World- Spawn in the ruins. There are some resources on some biomes guarded by nightmare lights and clockworks are scarce. Only source of food is gears. Nightmare light activate in the surrounding biomes in a clockwise fashion every few minutes. Every complete cycle (2 days) they all turn on at once. Goal- Survive 12 cycles (24 days) Conclusion Probably a pipe dream since I'm sure there are a lot of limitations that could keep this from happening. The devs might have no interest or time but I still thought it would be cool to share. Although, perhaps it can work if its simple custom worlds like the worlds in the single player adventure mode? And scattered about the area are pieces to a marble Charlie statue (look for right arm, etc). Put the statue together and charlie fills the surrounding area with roses.

A while ago there was a thread discussing a potential animated series: It ultimately ended on a stalemate of "We should not force Klei to spend more time on this than the rest of their projects". Since then they have made the decision to no longer be an indie company in order to not worry about finances as much and to maintain the quality of life of their employees. Hopefully this means that they will be able to work on projects much more freely and efficiently. It's not clear what a potential series would look like, but Klei has said that they have a couple of ideas up their sleeve. I completely trust that they will be able to create something fantastic and worthwhile no matter what they decide on. If Klei are up to the request and most importantly: if working on an animated series is still in interest to them, there is nothing stopping us from reaching out to a big streaming company and potentially achieving the beginning of a DS animated series.

  10. Welcome to the suggestions thread for the "Up And Away" mod! Have an idea for a mob, item etc. that you think would be a good addition to the mob? Then this is the place for you! Be sure to keep suggestions as short and detailed as possible, to prevent clogging and allow for better feedback on the idea. If a long post can't be helped then, please consider using spoiler tags. Also if it does, make sure to explain how your suggestion is affected by the Static mechanic (think Nightmare cycle from ruins). Remember to be nice about others' ideas. If you don't agree with a suggestion please reply with reasons as to why it wouldn't fit the game instead of just writing "This idea sucks!". This will prevent a lot of unneeded hassle. Also be positive towards feedback on your suggestion. If your idea would fit with some tweaks from suggestions, then it's better than it not being implemented at all. Also important : For the sake of people who want to subscribe to this thread, DON'T GO OFF-TOPIC. Keep the posts about the suggestions and feedback, not just reactions. So I've been thinking about how certain Set Pieces fit into DST and I thought I'd make a little place for us to kick around a few ideas concerning the future of Set Pieces and how they fit into DST. Most of the Set Pieces are nice to get but don't make or break a world. Except for the Reed Trap. For most of us the Reed Trap is a necessity, most of us going through world after world searching for a Reed Trap before even considering making something of that map. And in DST time is more precious, if you want to make a proper world with your friends you need to tip-toe your way around all of your schedules to fit in a decent amount of game time, because of this most people don't want to bother world regening for hours trying to get the holy grail that is the Reed Trap. I for one feel like the more important Pieces should either be guaranteed to spawn or have an increased chance to spawn to - at least - speed up the tiresome process of trying to get certain Pieces. So I pose the question to you all, what do you think of how the current system of Set Pieces fits into DST? Should it be changed by Klei and if so how? Or should we simply suck it up and go with the RNG or perhaps even leave it to mods? Whadaya think guise? And if anyone is open to making a mod that does this, you should do that thing mkay.

Bug Submission Please choose a category [Crash] Platform Steam Version Number - Issue title Wont even start to load, crashes immediently Steps to reproduce I click play in steam, and a window comes up like the game was starting, but instead another error message comes up saying that it has stopped working and is looking for a solution and the game never even starts or shows a screen other then it being grey Describe your issue I click play in steam, and a window comes up like the game was starting, but with that an error message comes up saying that it has stopped working and that windows is looking for a solution. The game never even starts to load or show a screen other then just grey. It worked until the update that came out a few days ago, when right after the update it had this problem. I tried re installing twice and it has gone through another update since then and it still doesn't work. I have done nothing to my computer in that time. Pleas Help!
  13. I'm sure you guys get this question asked a lot but will their be a co-op mode? Me and my dad love this game and would love to see it co-op currently he gives it a 3/5 but if you make it co-op he would gladly make it 4/5! ( he has a website for his book where this review is posted ) someone please respond so that I can know!!!
