  1. Hey, two friends of mine, and I, put together some videos of us playing Don't Starve together. We've produced two so far, and are looking for feedback. I am aware of the background noise, we know who that's from, and we're going to try and resolve that issue. Some advice is appreciated for editing as well as this was the first time I ever edited with premiere pro. Episode 1: Episode 2: A big thank you to anyone who bothers to watch and leave feedback.
  2. Hi there! BigWelshMike here. I've been loving Don't Starve (vanilla and RoG) for months and fancied trying out Don't Starve Together with my girlfriend. It's a pretty light-hearted game and we've managed to get the caves mod working so venture into that in latter parts (which I'm in the middle editing). I've had oodles of friends (over the years) tell me to do something like this so am finally getting around to some gaming videos for YouTube. The ol' daytime job takes up a decent amount of time but I'm committing more and more to this simply because I'm really enjoying it. See what you think and I hope you like it. Part #2 has also just gone live. Language gets a little colourful at times so please don't watch it if you're easily offended. Here's part #1!
  3. Wes?

So... how exactly Wes communicate with other players? I'm sure we're all aware of Wes's particular... *ahem* ...style of communication. Anyway, since chat has the player's text appear above their head, will Wes just not talk or something?
  4. They have always been together. Sometimes fighting, but mostly getting along together. In times of fear, they feel more secure when side by side. This is a co-op idea [YES, I KNOW, NO MULTIPLAYER, I GET IT.] about how two boys, who are both weak in their own rights, much strive to thrive together alone. VINCENT G. WRIGHT Science, computers, art. If it wasn't for his social issues, his learning disability, his laziness and his mediocre wealth, then he would he off on his own easily. He thinks he's too smart for most of the people in school, but is on equal, if not less, intelligent to his friends. It's a modest ego. He loves science, computers, and animals. Wanting to become a veterinarian, he has an aggressive side to people, but a passive side for all else. Studying and doodling about this mythical creatures called "TallBirds", and their young, which folk lore calls "SmallBirds". His more close with his brother than anyone else, and problems aside, he always says sorry in the end [and not just because he's Canadian]. His stomach, though... is a huge pit. Vincent is a slob, barely can run and snacks way to often. Vincent, however, CAN ration on no food for a while, after a meal, but still needs sustenance often. He also is quite unbalanced with his mind. He can crack fairly easily out of anger, and go insane, but when he has time to himself, he can quickly regain his thoughts. Overall, he's quite... different. TRENT T. Still quite young. He goes outside to play with the neighbours. He doesn't make friends at school easily, but his social needs are always kept in check. For being unfit, he sure goes out a lot to play! When he's not playing, he's on the computer, usually playing Mineblocks or Jerry's Mod. He doesn't seems to like new clothes, he doesn't realize that none of his shirts goes beyond his belt. At school, he's usually good, but tends to avoid doing homework. When hurt, he can be unpredictable, such as when his brother scares him [which he does constantly], Trent's fast reactions are quite noticeable. Trent also eats out of boredom. It keeps him amused, just snacking on what there is. From junk food to fruits and vegetables. When around his brother, he can't help but share his amazing day with him! Sometimes, he talks a little too much, but it's good to know that he's content and feels secure around his older brother. Overall, he's too young to really rely on one personality trait. Such as with Vincent, he's always changing. --- Co-op If this was implemented into Don't Starve [shut up, I already know that there is no multiplayer and never will be], if would be the "co-op mode". One player would have to play Wright, while the other would play Trent. They both are weaker, have less health, have less hunger and have less sanity, so both players would need to stick by each other for survival! If only a single brother loses sanity, hallucinations will only attack that single brother. If one of the brothers dies, the other will depressingly give themselves up as well. This gamemode would make for some interesting times.
  5. Well, sorry for necro posting, but Id like to state my side in this dead argument..if you're any sort of respectable coder your desktop will look like a piece of trash.
  6. It would be great if Klei added multiplayer in an update after the launch, so they don't have to worry about finishing the single-player. Kinda like how Mojang is focusing more on the multiplayer after the release of Minecraft on updates like the upcoming redstone update.
  7. HiI have the same issue here on Linux Mint. There is a new version since the 4th of January and I will try with it tonight.
  8. This Is My Way Of Conquering a Spider Den hope its helpful
  9. Awesome, awesome, awesome game. I won't gush about how great it is because I'm sure it's been done a million times. I love the game, but I do have a few small suggestions. 1. I think rabbits should respawn in their holes a few days after they're caught. As far as I can tell once they're caught they're gone for good. It seems implausible that one person should be able to completely destroy an entire ecosystem. Furthermore, what's the point of keeping the holes around if the rabbits are gone? And all your traps end up dead weight. 2. Along similar lines, spider nests are gone forever when destroyed as far as I've noticed, and I feel like they should reappear, otherwise it becomes completely impossible to craft items that require silk (especially bird traps). 3. The long legged bird monsters that protect their eggs are easy to kill but difficulty targeting them makes for some cheap damage taken and even undeserved deaths. 4. On my game, currently I can only receive experience for playthroughs with Wilson. This seems like a bug. Is it intentional? 5. More options for animal domestication would be cool in the future. Breeding rabbits, perhaps? Butterfly farms? Problem with that is right now butterflies are pretty useless. 6. Unlocking characters is a bit tedious at the moment. By the time I've played enough to unlock them all I'll certainly be burned out. Making it a bit easier would help pacing and keep people playing longer rather than getting completely tired of the game. Just my opinion. Once again, I love the game. It's super awesome, like a Harvest Moon type of game with a focus on wilderness survival and splash Tim Burton paint. Very beautiful and fun. Thanks for making this game, the game I never knew I wanted!
  10. Hey all, let me start by saying i love this game! That being said i feel i would love this game even more if i could link up with one or two of my friends from steam. Now i understand its a survival game, and i get that. Its part of the reason i love this game. I just feel that it would be a fun experience watching a friend tragically get eaten alive by spiders, or burned to cinders in a forest fire. Haha, but in all seriousness i feel that the chance to play with friends does make a lot of sense. Working together to forage for items that are made scarce from the addition to your group mates, or taking down big monsters also made stronger by the addition of new members. It just seems like it would make the game-play more diverse with the addition of co-op game-play. So i was I'm posting this thread to see what other people think/feel about the concept of having co-op as a part of the game. Feel free to post your thoughts, and opinions. And remember, stay hungry my friends.
  11. I'm too terrified to experiment. The darn hounds always call me off-guard and I always end up dying. I can't carry the bagpack and wear armor at the same time which is pretty lame and rather inconvenient.
  12. I was still exploring the map and just making temporary bases camps along the way. And one night, I was just pressing the space bar to chop down trees and all of a sudden I saw something on the ground moving. A small walking thing. A mandrake!!!! At that point I didn't know it was friendly and I had low health so I ran around my camp fire trying to stay alive lol Until day time, it just sort of planted itself to the ground! Oh how silly I was.
  13. Okay, as i have been playing the game, i have found a few things that would possibly make it one of the better games i have played.... adding a co-op mode to this game would, make it more interesting, you could work together to get to a high day count, or work against each other, to steal the other players riches, not only would it make the game more excitable, but harder as well... Suggestions on Co-op: 1, i personally feel the map would be to small for a large group of people, hence why i named this thread "Co-op" and not "Multiplayer" so i'd suggest a max of 4 people.. 2, Starting each player at random locations across the map.. that way if they do choose to work together they're going to have to find each other. 3, Night lasts longer, just to make it that slightest bit harder.. other suggestions: 1, Being able to make different/Stronger Armour. 2, Being able to make a range of weapons, (i.e sword, does high damage, and hits multiple targets but doesn't stun the monster. Bow, does less damage, but you can hit from a distance. Dagger, damage is high speed high, but doesn't stun.) 3, the ability to build more... (i.e, street lights, glass, mode of transport, a house) 4, being able to make a family... (not sure about that one, just thought of it then) 5, a story line, i was given the game by a friend, and i don't know how the person got there, why they're there, who the guy is at the start... in my opinion the game just needs more to do.. i found myself bored at my base a lot, with nothing to do.. so i wandered and died in stupid ways, (i.e trying to feed a tallbird) i'm not sure if it's just me, but i found the game to lag a lot, and my person ends up running into a bush for about 30 seconds before actually harvesting anything.. the glitch i have found, you can research things without the alchemy engine, as long as you have the right amount of research points, just go up to your science machine and double click.. these are just my opinions, and suggestions.... have your say..
  14. Bug Submission Please choose a category [Graphics] Platform Chrome Version Number 70399 Issue title Graphics tiled and rainbow static Steps to reproduce launch game in chrome Describe your issue It just looks like this when I start the game: http://i.imgur.com/vRDuu.png The game runs fine except for the interface is the same. I think I need a new graphic card driver or something, but I want to make sure with you guys before I do that. I looked into some settings with my graphics control panel thing and the settings are "balanced". Should I lean them more to performance or quality to fix this glitch? Thanks for reading.
  15. Before I get all the heat comments saying co-op is not happening what if there was say a kickstarter for co-op? How much would be needed for co-op out of curiosity? Not sure how rewards would work I suppose if they can it would be like making an item to the game like Guardian Angel necklace that generates light and lets you run around at night but takes the next three nights to recharge. I suppose that might be a bit op though Anyway thought that might be a somewhat possible idea for co-op interested on other suggestions.
  16. i believe that don't starve should have a multi-player game mode similar to minecraft that way people could enjoy it more and i also think it should have an ISO and Android app thanks and BTW AWESOME GAME!!!!!!
  17. I have 2 Chrome Don't Starve keys and will take Steam game keys depending on if you have something I want. Message me if interested. Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/GameFreak398/
  18. Hello! First I love the game! I think a few new cool features in don't starve would first be adding a bow, quiver, and arrows. then the second thing i think would be cool would be deer. it would be awsome if they could be more available than turkey's but less than rabits. and another cool one would be co-op up to 2 or maby even 4 people. if you think this is cool please try and add one of them please! Thanks!
  19. 20. Co- op

I'm sure you guys get this question asked a lot but will their be a co-op mode? Me and my dad love this game and would love to see it co-op currently he gives it a 3/5 but if you make it co-op he would gladly make it 4/5! ( he has a website for his book where this review is posted ) someone please respond so that I can know!!!
  21. I experienced a weird thing. I saw big tree, and when i cut them down no noise were made during the chopping. When it was cut down, i got 2 pinecones(normal) 3 logs(normal) and a charcoal (wut?). So i think there is a bug that make burned tree grow back (either when we exit or something or just naturally). On the steam version.
