Back by my insistence, the Speech Modification Template! This file contains all you need to easily make speech file modifications on existing characters, or to make ones completely out of nothing for a custom character. Or even add or change quotes for Lucy or Pigmen! And now, it is fully updated both for the latest version of All's Well That's Maxwell, and the Reign of Giants "Feet of Strength" updates! I am merely continuing the work WrathOf started, but couldn't keep up with as he passed into inactivity. If he comes back one day and asks me to take this down, I will have to, i'm afraid. But until then, here you go. A nice little modder's tool. How to use: Download the proper file. If you're using the DLC, then you want version 1.6. Otherwise, stick with 1.5. Extract the zip file, then open the ExtraEnglish.lua file. Everything you need is there, all the generic describe quotes are alphabetized. Let me know if I missed anything important, or if there are some items missing from the template. -

This mod allows you to slowly regain sanity while you stand next to flowers and potted ferns. Also included are different ways for each character to gain and lose sanity, each special and unique to only that character! Willow: In addition to her already slowly regenerating sanity while standing near fires, she also gains a small boost of sanity every time something catches fire. At a first glance, this may not seem very beneficial but since fires are so willing to spread, this can very easily create a chain reaction that will take you to your max sanity in a very short amount of time, at the cost of burning valuable resources. However, she does not like ashes and she will very quickly lose sanity if she stands near them. Wolfgang: It's no surprise that Wolfgang loves food. I mean, who doesn't? So standing near any food related structures, such as crock pots, farms, or even refrigerators will make him happy and he will slowly regain sanity. However, destroying said structures will strike terror into his heart and lower his sanity. Wendy: Wendy and Abigail have a very strong bond that even death can't stand in between. So things like Abigail's Flower, tombstones and even graves will make Wendy happy and feel like she's not alone anymore, thus raising her sanity. However, the death of her sister's ghost will cause great sorrow and sanity loss. WX-78: WX-78 loves technology so, much like Wolfgang, just hanging around beloved structures and objects, such as Science Machines, Lightening Rods or even toy robots are enough to make him happy and will slowly regenerate his sanity. However, also much like Wolfgang, it pains him to destroy those structures and will lower his sanity. Wickerbottom: Wickerbottom gets two new book recipes, one to completely refill your sanity over time and one to completely deplete it. The sanity refilling book regenerates roughly 150 points of sanity a second for 15 seconds and the sanity depleting book instantly sets your sanity pool to 0. Both books only have two uses each so use them wisely. Woodie: If it's not obvious by now, Woodie suffers from ornithophobia; a fear of birds. So just hanging around them or their feathers will quickly drain his sanity. Also because of his hatred for birds, it makes Woodie feel better to see birds brought to justice. Whether it's trapping them, putting them in cages or even killing them, Woodie will gain sanity boosts from watching them pay for their crimes! Whatever those crimes may be. Lite version: The character mods have been removed so the only thing the Lite version does is give sanity auras to flowers and potted ferns. Changes: -Flowers now grow when it rains. This can be disabled at the top of modmain.lua -Finally got around to rewriting Willow's perks. Burning things should now work much more effectively and consistently. -Wickerbottom's sanity regenerating book now heals over time instead of just instantly maxing it out. It lasts for 15 seconds and regenerates roughly 150 points of sanity a second. While under it's effect, you can tactfully face all sanity draining threats without suffering any of the penalties. -Fire Hounds now boost Willow's sanity. -Added Lite version. -Potted Ferns now produce sanity auras, higher than flower auras. If you have any issues, suggestions or comments, please feel free to leave them. -

For anyone who doesn't know: Wood ashes are very good for your garden and almost all plants can benefit from them. In addition to ashes enriching your soil with the valuable nutrients your plants use to grow big and strong, they're also very good for detouring pests like snails, aphids and cutworms. Coincidentally, the nutritional value plants receive from ashes is the reason the rainforests have been decreasing over the years. The local farmers burn them down to enrich the soil for the next growing season. It's not aerosol sprays or car exhaust, no matter what your teacher told you. But as with everything gardening related, always make sure your plants are compatible with the product in question before you apply it. What that means to this mod: This mod allows you to use ashes as a fertilizer. Click it on anything that needs to be fertilized, the same as you would for manure, rot or guano. Ashfarms have also been added. They grow crops slightly faster than improved farms but need to be fertilized way more often and are instantly destroyed by rain. This took so long to implement because I had to wait for the Six Feet Under update, which fixes many bugs with the ashfarms. Changes: -I want to say I updated it to be compatible with RoG but RoG is now stable enough to support ashfarms on it's own without needing me to change anything.(That's why I didn't bother updating it when RoG was still new.) -Fixed crashes related to specific hud sizes. Thanks to HaZ_MiDNighT for helping me troubleshoot this. -Added ashfarms by request. It doesn't function as requested but I'm the one running the show here. -Fine tuned fertilizer values. -Made wetgoop and fish, both fresh and cooked, valid fertilizers as requested. If you have any issues, suggestions or comments, please feel free to leave them. -

This mod makes all recipes cost nothing, including tech requirements. I also added a godmode submod. By default the P key toggles it on and off. You can change this value at the top of modmain.lua What this modifies: How to install: Changes: Known issues: Thanks to Simplex! WARNING: This may make your game INCREDIBLY boring and make you lose interest in it! Possibly forever! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I'm personally not into that kind of thing but to each their own. New update (Alchemy 4 Dummies) now out, adding many new crafting recipes! Robots are now much harder to craft but they've been made much stronger as well! I'll be doing a comic-kind-of-thing bout William's past. I'll also be adding more to his speech that'll hint to his background. New HD textures for Wil, and has a new, much higher quality piano voice (played horribly by yours truly )! See STATS for info about the Wrenches, Potions, robot, and William himself! Fixed the Blueprints dissappearing without summoning a robot when the player doesn't have enough gears! I love making mods for Don't Starve. Mostly just testing out all the possible perks, stats, etc. So, here's one of my personal favorites! William J. Danninghar was an inventor - much like Wilson. But his interests were more into robots and mechanical stuff. He now finds himself in a strange, unfamiliar place full of creatures beyond his wildest imaginings. STATS: -Slower than most characters by just a small bit. -Is weaker than most characters. +Starts off with 5 gears and a cane Average hunger -Low health +Very high sanity +Already knows the Science machine recipes (like Wickerbottom) +Very slow passive health regen. +Has a 0.1x armour bonus +Enters Nightmare Form when sanity is below 45. Nightmare Form stats (that differ from normal William's) +150 health + Deals more damage +Replaces science bonus with magic bonus (Prestihatilator recipes become available) +Gets a cool new voice -Hunger depletes significantly faster. You need to craft mechanical what-not (a new item) and a shell for the specific robot to creat your robot. These pieces are found in the Refine tab! You can use a hammer or wrench to tell your companion to leave you alone and then feed them a carrot (seeds for reapers) or gears to heal them and make them follow you again! Mechanical Butler: Controlled by a rabbit +High health +Helps mind and chop trees. +Can heal with carrots +The controlling rabbit will run out of the robot when it dies +emits smoke +Acts as a container. -slowish movement speed +Becomes Nightmare Butler when player's sanity is below 100. Mechanical Reaper: Controlled by a crow +Teleports away from combat if attacked +Can heal with gears +The controlling crow will fly out of the robot when it dies +Very fast attack speed -Modertate-low health -Low-med damage Mechanical Brute: Controlled by a rabbit +Very high health +High damage +Can heal with gears +The controlling rabbit will run out of the robot when it dies -Very slow attack speed -Slow movement speed +Becomes Nightmare Brute when player's sanity is below 100. Craftable Wrenches! And special back-pack (which doesn't actually store things, it's armour) Pointy Wrench: Craftabe under science. Requires Alchemy Engine. Deals 51 damage. Has 150 uses. Can be used as mining pick. Nightmare Wrench: Craftable under Magic. Requires Prestihatilator. Deals 65 damage. 150 uses. Can be used as mining pick. Drains sanity when equipped. Regain 2.5 sanity on hit. Mechanic's back-up: Blocks 75 damage 1050 durability Can be activated to turn it into a shield via extending plates to block 100 damage (treeguards still do 1 damage) Has neat effects Potions: Concentrated Nightmare Fuel: Craftable under Magic. Requires Alchemy Engine. Instantly sets sanity to 0, activating William's Nightmare Form. Bottle of Happiness: Craftable under Magic. Requires Alchemy Engine. Regains a large amount of sanity. Elemental Mixererer is required for the De-life-inator (gun) and the Heart of Phlogiston (sword) It can be found in Refine! Guns: The flintlock mechanism can be found in refine. Flintlock pistol requires flintlock mechanism. High damage. Long range 10 uses De-life-inator Requires Elemental mixererer Summons a stationary Terror Claw to fight the target if in-range 50 uses Med range Med damage FIRE SET: Heart of Phlogiston: Requires Elemental Mixererer Slow attack speed ignites targets Deals 72 damage and 77 to burnable targets HotHead's Braincase: High protection Has a chance to ignite attackers Pyromaniac's Evening Wear: High protection Wearer is almost immune to fire Glowy Very, very, very high insulation BRINGY-BACKY-2-LIFE SYSTEM Works like the meat effigy, but takes less health from William. The normal meat effigy will leave William at full health when built, this will leave him with much more. When resurrected, player starts off with less sanity and hunger than the Meat effigy. His speech is currently a slightly modified Wickerbottom speech. This will be changed further in time. -

A quick lesson on the realistic shelf life of honey: Honey, arguably, doesn't spoil. In normal storage conditions, it will only thicken and crystallize. You can return it to it's normal, non-crystallized state by putting it in a glass jar(if it's not already in one) and putting that jar into a pot of boiling water. The heat will cause it to decrystallize and become as good as new! Just don't heat the honey to it's boiling point as that will make it lose some of it's flavor. What that means to this mod: This mod allows you to cook honey over a campfire to get a fresh unit of honey. Also, instead of turning into rot, it will now turn into a new prefab, "crystallized honey", which doesn't spoil and can also be cooked over a fire for a fresh unit of honey. Eating crystallized honey without cooking it first will cause a slight sanity loss and it has a hunger value that's about a third of normal honey. Changes: -Increased honey's spoilage level when cooked over a fire. -Adjusted the shelf life of honey again. -Added a new prefab "crystallized honey". See above for how it works. -Doubled the spoil time of honey. If you have any issues, suggestions or comments, please feel free to leave them. -

This mod allows nitre, stingers, hound teeth, spiderwebs, pigskin, feathers, beefalo horns, tools and bush and spider queen hats to be used as fuel in campfires! All monster meat variants and evil flowers refuel night lights! Allows moggles to accept fireflies, lightbulbs, slurtle slime and other similar fuels! Honey refuels lanterns! Also adds recipes for glow berries and lightbulbs and gives lightbulbs an extremely long shelf life(the same as powdercakes). Changes: -Made traps and bird traps valid campfire fuels. -Moggles now accept fireflies, lightbulbs, slurtle slime and other similar fuels. -Added recipe for glow berries. -Removed fireflies as a valid lantern fuel because using fireflies as fuel for lanterns has become part of the vanilla setup.(Modder victory!) -Made beefalo horns a valid campfire fuel. -Evil flower petals and monster meats(raw, uncooked, jerky and lasagna) now refuel nightlights. -Spider queen hats and bush hats are now a campfire fuel. -Added a new .tex thumbnail, thanks to Simplex's png-tex converter for Linux(and macs too I guess). -Lightbulbs were made perishable again, because of an issue with cave chests, and instead were given a very long perish time. This may change again in the future. -Lightbulbs no longer spoil. -Made pigskin and feathers a valid campfire fuel. -Partial French language translation added; Translated by John2022! Please let me know if there are any issues with the translated version. -Updated for Hunger update. -Retooled the lightbulb recipe. -Made spiderwebs a valid fuel for campfires. -Made hounds teeth and all tools able to be used in campfires. Gold tools burn brighter. -Lowered how much fuel fireflies add to the lantern. -Made honey a valid lantern fuel. -Updated the mod so it no longer overwrites lua files! This will dramatically increase the chance the mod will work after an update. If you were one of the first people who downloaded this mod, redownload the latest version. If you have any issues, suggestions or comments, please feel free to leave a comment. -

Sample mod showing how to add a custom tech branch. In this example, the fire pit is used as the prototyper for a recipe of rocks (in the Magic tab). Due to a game change made to have recipes not requiring a prototyping structure cease to be prototypable (see this), unfortunately it was necessary to override the method Builder:KnowsRecipe() from the Builder component. More generally, the hardcoded logic in the Builder component prevented this implementation from being as clean and simple as I'd like. It is functional, nevertheless. Thanks to Heavenfall for originally looking into this.
