  1. Something about torches has been mentioned some time ago , and in this thread i got the idea (or more like, i refined it) about Tikitorches. Making a new thread for the specific idea. Tikitorches. Built by: 1 torch + 1 log (or 2-3 sticks?) + 1 grass (because it lasts longer) + 1 rope It would be a big torch (duh) you stick into the ground. You can't pick it up again, but you can hammer it, like a structure. It would emit light equivalent of a level 1 or maybe a level 2 campfire, double as long as a normal torch. You should NOT be able to cook stuff on it. About the fueling, here are kind of 3 things i had in mind: Option A: You can turn it on and off (maybe a flint in the recipe for that?) until it burns out. After that, it despawns. Option B: The same as A, but you can refuel it with a torch. When it's burnt out, it leaves the "stick" in the ground. Option C: It's like a firepit. When burnt out, you have to throw fuel into it and it gets reignited. Uses far less fuel than the campfire, because it's smaller. Discuss! Vote at the poll!
  2. hm... I seem to have found some bugs. 1) I can't find it in the game (Its in there, right? right?!?!?!)and 2) I can't vote moarz!

It may sound redundant, but I kinda wish we could craft a simple road sign (the shape of a plank with < on one side), as sometimes I don't want to switch to the map view to check which way to go next, it kinda breaks the enjoyment when I have to do that.- craftable from logs and rope (1 log, 1 rope)- a no-research-necessary buildable - Maybe able to give it short notes that would show up when it's examined? (I just picture myself writing "DEATH" on a sign pointing towards a marsh)that's all.
  4. As i have too much free time and some people liked my idea of a coal pencil, here is another suggestion. The coal pencil. [*] It's crafted by one charcoal and a stick (why would you need more...). [*] You could draw on the map with it. [*] Should have durability, since it is just coal. And easy to craft. [*] Would add more usage for charcoal (currently i only get 6 or 12 for the crockpot(s)) [*] Would finally add a solution to the wormhole confusion problem. [*] You could mark self-made wood farming tree spots, for example, or mark a spot with much bunnies. The possibilities are endless! [*] Would make more sense than any other drawing material in the world of DS [*] The style of it fits the game. Vote YES if you want to scribble stuff on your map with a charcoal! Vote NO if you.. don't like it i guess.
  5. Shank 2: more survival maps?

    Dear Klei, Shank 2 survival mode is one of the best purchases I ever had on Steam, from 200+ games I have on my account. If you could add more maps to it, it would be amazingly good. It could be a DLC of some kind. I believe it will not require much resources to make a couple maps. Perhaps one with turrets that have unlimited ammo but overheat. 3 maps that are already there are great and very challenging, but a bit more variety will make this game even better. I hope you would at least consider that if you are not planning Shank 3 Good luck with new games, Mark of the Ninja was also awesome, but I guess you know that
  6. No, not those World of Warcraft kind of raids. People say this game is too easy. People say the hounds are easy to juke and with a treeguard, beefalos or traps easy to fool. People say those foolish spiders are no match for the spears and logsuits of them. My idea: Make a random set of mobs, either hounds, spiders, mixxed or a bunch of treeguards spawn at some corner in the map, walking towards the player, leaving nothing than havoc. more detailed: After day - let's say - 100, the mobs you killed the most (or random) spawn at an end of the map in a group. No, i am not talking about 3 hounds, or 5 spiders. I am talking about 20 hounds, or 25 spiders, 5 treeguards, those kind of things. At day 100 you WILL have a base and you WILL be able to beat almost everything. I don't know about the warning, tough. just some floating text would be too dull, and no warning at all would be too unfair. Imagine you, building a base in peace, when 30 spider warriors approach you. EDIT: Of course this would only be smart once you can build fences, buildings.. a base of some sort. And ideas? Discuss. PS: Sorry if my idea is dumb, just thinking about some ways to improve lategame difficulty.

  8. Now first of all, i know diseases were already suggested pretty frequent. So i will skip the whole disease-part and get right to the medicine/potion-part. Something came to my mind by the f-ing old game "Rogue". For those who know that game (well), you can skip everything here except the crafting part. It works just like in that game. While i only had medicine on mind originally, it seems to make more sense on potions Crafting: You craft it by combining stuff, of course. Honey + flowers, flowers + butterfly wings, and so on. That would create a potion. Use: No, it's not a "Healing potion", a "Speed potion" or whatever. It would create a potion which you only know the color about, just like it would irl. (except irl you would know the smell, too) So, you have that "Red Potion" there in your inventory. But what does it do? ... Exactly. That's the tricky part. You need to find out what it does. Consume it, and it tells you what it did, and it is permanently renamed to the effect it does, like "Healing Potion" until the character dies. Maybe also harmful potions? Maybe you can feed it to a trusty companion first to find out the results? Oh, you mean you can just try every potion and you know what it does forever? No, it would change every time you start a new game. Or else it would be far too easy. Like, a red potion can be a healing potion in one game, but a poison in the next one. The thing what i expect here, is that you have to experiment with it first to make something you really want to have. A more hardcore way would be that you have different recipes too, each time you start a new game. But i think that lacks the ammount of resources available atm.
