  1. Bug Submission Please choose a category [Gameplay] Platform Steam Version Number - Issue title Tallbirds spawning in the ocean Steps to reproduce 1. Load game 2. Run to edge of islands to see if tallbird has spawned there Describe your issue When I load the game Tallbirds spawn off the edge of the islands, or in the water between two cracks. I've tried it several times on the same map and the birds spawn in the same place every time. They can't get onto the island, and I can't get close enough to reach the nest. If they come to the rim and so do I, they can attack me and deal damage (and vice versa) but they wander around on the ocean until then.
  2. With LLQ patch the only usefull recipe if worthless now. And I mean 2 Monster Meat + 2 Honey of course. Now raw ingredients give 54 hunger and 30 health and they stack, while cooked in crock pot they give 42 hunger and 5 health, which is just pathetic. What you guys use your crock pots for? Any good recipes? Or you preffer to eat raw food too?
  3. I'd like to buy the game, but before I do I'm just wondering how well it works on linux with Wine?
  4. iv found that only one of the farm plots is needed to be fertalised and was thinking 'surely it makes more sense for them all to have to be fertalised.' i understand maybe speedy and turbo should require longer before they have to be fertalised but iv used the turbo and speedy plots alot and have not had to fertalise them once...
  5. As food may be scarce for some people (Especially meats,) Some might not want to employ the help of a "Pig," or find it too risky to capture bees for a "Bee Mine." So why not consider a third defense option? Walls. So, maybe, with a few boards (or a vast number of stones in this case,) we could create a wall of some kind to defend our camps from the evil boars/spiders/tallbirds of the night. I have a few bad experiences with board charging into my camp and killing me out of nowhere in the middle of the night, and scaring the living daylights out of me. So I hope that you fine fellows may consider my ideas. Your drone, MM
  6. I found a cool way to get infinite meat and tallbird eggs. First, find a tallbird nest. Make sure the Tallbird is dead, because it will be easier to do things later (tallbirds do respawn at there nests). Then spawn in an optimus pine. Lead him over to the nest, then run away leaving him at the nest (if you get far away enough he'll unaggro so even if its by your camp you should be okay). Wait a little while, and periodically check on the nest. The tallbird will attack anything near its nest and the optimus pine is near invincible while doing tons of damage. It kills the tallbird leaving the meat and egg for you to collect (like I said earlier the optimus pine unaggros on you as long as you dont chop down any trees in his vicinity, so you dont have to worry about him while collecting). Just visit the nest every once in a while, because the mobs will only fight eachother if you can see them. That is all and happy farming!
  7. Has ANYONE see a rabbit just hopping along on the ocean O.o!?!??!?!??!? I found 2.
  8. naturally, food is the most important resorce in this game. Because of that, i think there should be many more food recipies added to the game before release. Here are my ideas... New Base Foods... Milk- By crafting a bucket, you can milk certain animals. Milk is always the same, reguardless of what animal it comes from, however it dosn't stay fresh for long. Cheese- After about a day, milk will culture into cheese. Cheese has less food value than fresh milk, but it also has more recipies it can be used in. Tomatos- Another food you can grow on your farms. Rarer than corn, but more common than carrots. New Crock Pot Recipies... Pork Tacos- 2 morsels 2 corn. Fruit Salad- 2 carrots 2 any fruit. Chili Con Carne- 2 any meat 2 tomato Pizza- 1 any meat 2 cheese 1 tomato Fondue- 3 cheese 1 Twig Spegetti & Meatballs- 1 any meat 2 tomatos 1 cheese what ideas do you have for new foods.
  9. A craftable bikini which could only be placed on a Pigman. If the candle is added to the game aswell, You could always have that wonderfully romantic dinner you always desired on Don't Starve.( Hope it isn't just me and Toasty ) Once the bikini is placed on, The pigman would show lovehearts, And would take the character you're playing as into it's home, Where you sleep the night over. You gain increased health and your stomach is filled. I couldn't think of any disadvantages, Other then getting an illness of some sorts. ( There's no illness in the game at the moment though, So I didn't think too much of it.)
  10. I was thinking that certain foods would cause effects to the character. Something like Carrots give a boost to the light given from something (Fire reaches farther out), or berries being occasionally poisonous, which would be purified when cooked. Any additional ideas are welcome.
  11. Yup, we need some nuts in this game. I like finding carrots out in the field randomly, wouldn't it be cool to find some peanut plants while you're out and about too? Also, provided they add in some non-piney trees in the future, chopping down a deciduous tree could randomly provide a walnut. Maybe the hammer could gain another use with the introduction of walnuts... and going along with the mysterious/magical nature of this world... maybe you crack open a walnut and find a gold nugget or amulet or some other random rare treasure/resource? (If the trees walk in this world, who's to say they don't grow/collect treasure?) Nuts could go along with some of the squirrel/chipmunk suggestions I've seen too, meaning using nuts as bait, or the squirrels running up and stealing your nuts off the ground (maybe out of your boxes when you're gone from camp?). These nut ideas could differentiate themselves from berries a bit by being inedible when fresh, but once you've roasted them on a fire, finally become edible. Also, they could open up more recipes in the crock pot. Can anyone think of some other good ideas to do with nuts, or just some more nuts that would be easy to find?
  12. I have 1 steam and 2 chrome keys available. I am willing to trade or sell via Paypal. PM me with any offer must include any games you have available and are willing to trade. NO Dota 2's already have 3 keys to try and get rid of for that game also.
  13. Hi! I found that morsel meat and cooked morsel restores less hunger than berries, making traps way more demanding in time and resources. Still, you can use ground traps with seeds to catch birds, so why the trouble of building a bird one? Well, that's what I thought while playing last time anyways. Thanks!
  14. Harvesting and collecting I have been playing this game for a little while now and find it quite enjoyable but one thing that seems to be getting old fast when you reach late game is the time it takes to gather and pick up resources. Though I think it is important for it to take a little bit of time to acquire things, I would love to be able to research something like a magnet hat that picks up stuff around me or a scythe for slaying that grass in a hurry. I guess I just want to spend more time on hunting and less time gathering
  15. I have noticed that when you make a stew using monster meat, you don't lose any health from the stew. In my opinion monster meat stew should definitely have a downside because otherwise it's an endless food supply if you have about 10 spidernests nearby.
  16. Hi, i really like the game, i know there were some discussions about achivment, quests, and such. I have a suggestion that we could be presented like "This is a 1000th tree you cut down", when you actualy cut it down. I'm not sayin we should have counter for everything/page with statistics, but i would like to be supprised at some point and hear about stuff like that. What do You think?
  17. Once you have discovered every single animals and monsters, what's left ? There is nothing else to discover. I dont know why i am on this island, and no clue to discover. I dont know why there is a guy three times as tall as i am. Who is he ? Is he a god ? I want him to have a castle that i could destroy to get my revenge. Maybe each world could have a unique item that needs to be discovered to learn more about our host. The only recipes that are usefull are golden tools and improved farms. Everything else is not cost worthy. I dont want to create a consumable hat that has the same purpose than a regular toch and costs much more. I dont think that creating more recipes will fill the lack of content. The game needs more stuff to do. I want to be able to create advanced traps which can hurt monsters. I want to be able to breed animals. I want the monsters to learn from what i do. Big birds should know that i'll steal their egg, and attack me on sight, once i've done it once. Pigs should become naturally hostile since i kill them everyday. Spiders and pigs could create an alliance to protect themselves versus me. What about an underworld ? What about diving into the ocean ? The game is fun, but once you have understood how the world works, there is no challenge left.
