      UPDATED - Studio Note & Rhymes with Play Streams Temporarily Canceled.   03/06/2020

      UPDATE (3/19/20): Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online, extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.   That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.  We will let you know as we see how these changes affect our timelines.  Thanks UPDATE (3/10/20):
      The test yesterday went well. We got the whole office (mostly) to work from home without significant issue. As a result, Klei Staff that can work from home have been asked to do so until further notice.  This means that we will have to cancel the Rhymes with Play stream until we are all back in the office. This shouldn't affect anything else at least in the short term, but if things change I will update you all here.  Original Post: Hey everybody,  This Tuesday March 10th, 2020 the entire staff at Klei will be working remotely for 1 day in an effort to prepare the studio to work remotely for a little while if the need arises.  Klei is already set up pretty well to allow for working remotely, however we are going to have a one day "dry run" with the whole studio so that we can identify and avoid any issues or downtime that may arise should choose to implement a work from home policy due to COVID-19 outbreak concerns. Unfortunately this does mean that we will be canceling the “Rhymes with Play” Art stream this coming Tuesday, however unless the situation changes we expect everything at the studio to be back to normal Wednesday and we’ll continue our regular stream schedule Thursday March 12th. If the situation changes at all, we'll let you know. Thanks for your understanding.

  1. Hi everyone, I just tried the beta last Dec. 14 and I found some things that I think needs to be improved to added. Oh... by the way, sorry if my english could turn up bad or something, english isn't my first language so...yeah. 1.) The inventory box needs numbers. I sometimes get lost to what number I should press as the inventory box doesn't have any numbers. 2.)A "SORT" button could be a big plus to organize the items in the inventory, or you can just separate the box for food, tools, raw materials, etc. for easier accessibility and also to lessen confusion. 3.) The overworld "stuffs" are sometimes hard to click, specially if I'm NOT playing it in fullscreen. If pointer is pointed to it it won't highlight, yet if my pointer is more to its southern end without exactly entering the "stuff" that's the time it will highlight. hmm.. 4.) It is still dark even with fire during the night. I don't if it's just me but I think a more "REDDISH GLOW" is more appropriate with the fire rather than the "LIGHTER DARK GLOW" around it. Ofcourse I'm only talking about the area around the fire, the darkness of the wilderness away from the fire is I think ..natural?.. 5.) Auto-"Attacking" is I think a good addition as well, It's quite tiring to repeatedly click the mouse (not to mention is decreases the mouse life drastically). Perhaps a Single Click to the object then not releasing the mouse will perform an auto-attack? hmmm ... I think that's all for now. Cheers to the developer though for creating a unique, fun and challenging game. I hope you read this and incorporate some of this stuffs ..
  2. So people complain about the game beeing to "easy"... I just came up with the following idea ... maybe already suggested it and I didn't know about it that could be true aswell... Obesity So, people say "well I can just stay in my camp with my farms dont have to move much way to easy at night Willow just starts a fire way to easy" Maybe you could implement something like, if you dont move on regular basis a certain amount x --> (which you dont tell us) you are getting obese and if you don't run then you are getting even fatter. I imagine four stats you start at number 2. 1. You don't eat enough you are constantly under x% (30?) you are losing muscle mass, character appears skinny -> you move abit faster but your max Health drops by let say 50%, food meter drops slower 2.Normal like you start the game, you move a certain amount on a daily basis and food meter is kept above 50% -> Stats as we are used to. 3. Obese you eat to much (75%) or move to less. -> getting slower than normal but gain 25%Health you can escape slower monsters(spideres,pigs,treants etc) fast .......monsters catch you or atleast hit you from time to time(Tallbird,Beefalo,Hound etc) 4. Fat Your Food meter is above 90% or you move nearly nothing at all from the crock pot to the farm to the chest ....and back. -> you get 50% more HP but everymonster catches you, one could argue that food meter drops faster and something like Log armor needs more logs. you would need to work on you and it would take 3 days to switch between a state. AlSoone could implement to fatty food if you always eat meat with honey you get very fat. I think you could implement it simply like this. o = 100; // start everystep taken o - 0.25 //or something like that food intake o + x // x differs about every food 1.) o = 40 ? 2.) o = 100 3.) o = 150? 4.) o = 200? Thirst additional to the foodmeter there could be one for "liquids" which should be kept high because if you drop to low you could get "hallucinations?". The diffrent kinds of food give a diffrent amount of water, while fruits give a high amount other give less or could even substract some if its very dry.
  3. Hi, I find the new map to be a lot better than the old one when it comes to "readability". I am a bit surprised about the choice in color though. Now I know you have probably made the choice for the reason I like and posted first but I also find it looks a bit weird. It looks weird because it is kind of bright in places, which doesn't suit the darker theme of the game so well. Maybe you could consider toning those brights down a bit. May just be a question of taste though. TL;DR: - the new map is more readable/better - the color is too bright - maybe it's just my taste Thanks for taking the time to read this
  4. I think all male characters should grow beard i know wolfgang would be pretty op if he could grow beard and also have 200 food and stomach but if he also grow beard as wilson it would take more time.
  5. hey me and a few friends where thinking how awesome this game would be if it had co-op... i dont think it would be so hard to do...just make a 4th char and there u go 4 player co-op well i dono if its hard to make or not but this is just 1 pece of feed back that i wanted to leave here -Xx
  6. This is just my personal feedback to the game, and story of my first time playing. Feel free not to read if you're not interested. I like this game, the art style is unique in my opinion, and I find it very fun! If you're not interested in hearing feedback from me, feel free not to read. Thanks! --- I first found out about this game from a group of people called "The Yogscast", which is a group of minecraft players who have their own youtube. (I can imagine that some people may know them, lol.) It looked like an interesting game, full of laughs to be had and I decided to buy it from steam, with actual high expectations for the game. I wasn't disappointed at all... Though no, I did not survive my first time playing! I survived exactly 10 days, then the unfortunate happened. I died. I had JUST made the second-level of science-y'ness in the game, hoping to make some cool stuff. I had honed my killing skills of the rabbits and gathering of the materials. In fact, I had made my own forest full of 20+ tree's. This is where I went wrong! I had just set down my level 2 science machine, then noticed that the tree's were dieing. I wanted them to grow as big as possible so I could get as much as I could from them, because wood does go fast! I walked away from my science machine, and started to chop down one of the tree's from my home-grown forest... Then I nearly jumped out of my chair... The tree came to life and punted me.... Yes. I died from a kick to the face by my own tree. I wanted to FLIP MY DESK! But I couldn't help but smile because I wasn't disappointed! I hope this game goes far! I'm expecting this game to be great, I want to put many many hours of playtime into it! -reguards, Xzile40

  8. Dear Devs, Please add an auto-pause feature to 'Don't Starve' when you tab out or switch windows. There have been a number of occasions where I just switch over to change a song, and when I switch back, I'm dead. Not fun. I'm sure this would be a positive addition to a single-player game, as it makes playing and checking something online a lot easier. Thanks! Loving the game by the way! Rylenn
