  1. Hello! So I have been checking out Don't Starve's current Downloadable Content, in a hype that their newest DLC "Hamlet" is coming up in the near future. As I was checking out the description of each DLC, one of these caught the most attention out of me, that being the page of its Original Soundtrack. It has been a while since I've revisited this place, even more due to myself being more interested in Don't Starve Together nowadays. But in the end of reading its description, I find myself with these words: This may very likely mean that it'll automatically update to have Hamlet's Original Soundtrack added in, and for that I'm all fine. But at what I have been wondering about, is... Will this same kind of treatment apply to Don't Starve Together's music too by porting the music to the single-player game and adding it to the Original Soundtrack album, or will we have to buy another smaller, slightly cheaper version of the game's current soundtrack, such of which will contain their own batch of music from whatever updates come to live (An example possibly being having the A New Reign's bosses music, with the addition of music from the events such as Winter's Feast, or The Forge)?
  2. I made a lot of drawing's based off Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together and I found this art forum not long ago so I wanted to post all my drawing until now here and if I make more I will update this post

Introducing Whisper the Bunny character mod for Don't Starve Together! Whisper is a happy go lucky bunny ready for adventure! Stats Whisper has 150 health, hunger, and sanity. Burrow Whispers unique ability allows her to burrow underground by pressing 'B'. This key is configurable as well. While burrowing Whisper loses enemy aggro and moves 50% faster. She can also pick up items off the ground and pick plants as well. Burrow has an initial cost of 10 hunger and her hunger will drain 2x faster. Fragile Whisper is vulnerable to incoming damage. She takes 25% more damage so be careful. Vegetarian Whisper is a vegetarian, along with this she has a fondness for carrots. Eating carrots will grant her a small hunger bonus. She gains 6 additional hunger if the carrots are fresh, 4 if they're stale, and 2 if they're spoiled. Friendly Whisper is quite friendly and not very threatening, because of this she doesn't scare away creatures if she gets close by. Also any allies she makes on her journey will stay with her for a longer period of time. If you have any questions, comments, or issues please comment below or PM me. I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I do. If you prefer to subscribe through Steam you can use the link below. Thank you and hope you have fun, Red

  6. My take on the the fact how fans are disliking Winona. I think that all she needs is just.. a clockwork MECH! I have implemented different clockworks parts in the design to make it as much in-game looking as possible. If you like the art please like and comment. That will help a lot
  7. Aye! Modders! This is a short guide that points out many differences between DST and DS version. I just decided to create this little tutorial to help some of the modders that would like to translate their DST mod into a DS, which of course can be done inversely. It won't be hard stuff, as I don't know much about coding and started with zero knowledge in Lua. The purpose of these writings is just about sharing and helping. Still, I hope this WILL help. Let's begin. First your should seek for your mod folder and I assume you already know where it should be. We will set every change in the following section : *Modinfo *Modmain *Character *Items/prefabs Modinfo : Modmain : Character : Items/Prefabs : Feel free to be constructive and point out what you know about translating DST to DS. I know this short guide is not complete, but everything has a beginning. D4rkh0bb1T

  11. Version 0.2.1

Grants the player the ability to toggle between enable / disable click to walk functionality in-game. Disabling the click to move will ONLY affect clicks “on the ground” - e.g. when you’re not targeting any entities. You can still click to perform any actions such as mining, picking, attacking, examining, etc. Options: Click to Walk Tells whether click to walk will be working or not by default when joining a game "Yes" or "No" Toggle Key Toggles the functionality in-game. You can chose to disable the ability to toggle if you like. K L ; [ ] or "Disabled" — This mod was inspired by The Forge event when a lot of people seemed interested in this functionality. Although the event is over, it looks like some players don’t like this at all, even on regular DS/DST. Hope this mod can help improving your gameplay experience. As always all feedback is appreciated, enjoy! — Toggle Click to Walk is compatible with Don't Starve / Reign of Giants / Shipwrecked / Don't Starve Together. 13. I've been hooked on this game every since it came out on PS3 and through ROG and Shipwrecked. Wendy and Wigfrid are still my two favorite to play as. So I self indulged and did an art with them together :3 Hope you guys enjoy it! I draw chibi art so often that I decided to do an epic scene instead with a lot going on. If anyone else has done any fanart, please share too! It's always fun to see. Meanwhile, I just died on my best Shipwrecked game to date this morning so I'm gonna go pout now lol Stupid Sealnado.
  14. So I managed to create a custom character using the extended character template, and it's more or less working as I want but one thing I can't figure out is bugging me. While creating his custom starting weapon, despite it functioning mechanically just fine, I wanted to add special "inspect" text to it, and a unique one for wx as well to match his usual "all caps" speak. Now the first two strings for the item name and description in the recipe tab are working in-game just fine, but the two lines of text I added for the "inspect" for all players + wx's special one just won't. The item also does not seem to function with the Food Values+Item tooltips mod properly, as it will either display no text (not even the "equip" option though it can still be equipped normally) or if I hover over another weapon or tool, or any item with stats really, the hover text will match the last item I hovered. This is after hovering over the torch, then hovering the weapon. The strings I'm using for the descriptions and inspect options in my modmain.lua are as follows: STRINGS.NAMES.SHADOWRAPIER = "Shadow Rapier" STRINGS.RECIPE_DESC.SHADOWRAPIER = "Don't poke your eye out." STRINGS.CHARACTERS.GENERIC.DESCRIBE.SHADOWRAPIER = "Dark and pointy." STRINGS.CHARACTERS.WX78.DESCRIBE.SHADOWRAPIER = "EXTREMELY POINTY. USE WITH CAUTION." I pulled these from another character mod called "Wolfe" who has a unique craftable weapon as well. Is there something wrong with these strings? (Well i mean obviously there is, but what...) or is it something in the other files such as the item's .lua file? If needed I will provide the full modmain.lua, item.lua and character.lua files. Thanks in advance!

Steam workshop link: This is my first client-side DST mod - it allows you to enable force-attack on 'f' and set ignored enemies. Ignored enemies won't be attacked by default. With force-attack enabled you can target all enemies with CTRL+'f', without - normal 'f' will target all hostile entities ^_^ Supported ignored enemies: walls ballons birds (except sleeping/frozen birds will be attacked anyway) spider dens Abigail Shadow Puppets Grumble Bees (for easy Bee Queen fight) shadows (for that sweet sweet Ancient Fuelweaver fight) I won't hide it, I got inspired by two great mods: Mod that inspired selective attacking: Improved Force Attack Workshop link: Author: Hrafnár Mod that inspired forced attacks: Reverse Force Attack Workshop link: Authors: Kazaki, star I took a look at their work and added functionalities I needed... no idea if they are ok with that I love their mods - they really did a great job, I just merged, re-organized and expanded it ^_^"
  16. Hello Everyone, my name is Mahmoud, and I'm currently working on Game Design for a mod for DST. before I tell you what I have in mind let me introduce myself. I'm 22 years old and have studied Game Design and Game Art & 3D Animation. During my Studies, I've learned a lot about Games and the Game Industry. I have participated in a few game Jams and I'm currently Pitching a TCG on my own. Let's get to the more important matter. The Mod. DST is one of my favorites Games, regardless if played alone or with friends, Items and more. but i believe there is more that can be done. one of the greatest and most interesting Mods out there in my personal view is the, Multi-World DST which expands the Universe of DST and adds a lot of new Elements, this is What I have in mind too. I would love to collab with the Community of DST and create a Mod that the Community will enjoy to the fullest. What do I have in mind? As mentioned above I would love to create a mod that can come close to the Multi-World mod. Something that will add new Biomes, Items, Recipes and Challenges for the players. now, how do we achieve that? one easy way would be creating new content and throwing it into the game, but let's be honest, that would be boring now wouldn't it? Here is what I have in mind. One of the events that play an important role in DST are the seasons, but with all the new mods that doesn't seem to be much of a challenge anymore, so how about we create four new Biomes! Each biome represents one Season has only that season going on. to give you a better understanding of my thoughts I'll go a little bit more into detail. The four big seasons! Let's give those four seasons a name first, shall we? Evergreen (The Spring Season): Evergreen is the Easiest of the four Biomes and offers a lot of vegetation. Just because it is the Easiest one it doesn't mean it provides no challenge for the player. Providing the players with a huge amount of fruits, vegetables, and Animals it also comes with huge dangers. one of those Enemies would be Treeguards, however, we are not talking about the normal ones that drop Living logs.those tree guards do not drain your insanity as quick and are more of common but stronger foes kinda like a beefalo. I could go deeper into details on what enemies the players could encounter but this is something I haven't set in stone yet. One thing I have decided tho is that each season has it's on Giant. The Giant for the Spring Season could be a Giant Treeguard that could throw giant pine cones that instantly grow to lvl 2 trees. or a Really Giant Pig-king that is the one and only ruler of all the others jumping and creating little earthquakes. the possibilities are endless and I'm sure you get the idea. Sunnyhill (The Summer Season): Sunnyhill is always summer, and much stronger than the usual summer! the Nights are even half as long as the normal summer ones. This is a really hot biome, No grass, dead trees but a lot of stones and fiery enemies. The Biom would have a lot of fire hounds, vultures, magma spots smaller version of the dragonfly giant and other enemies. the Biome would provide a lot of stone and minerals (copper, silver, etc.) Like the Kraken in Shipwrecked, I thought maybe there would be a Fire Kraken that is submerged in a magma pit and throws fireballs that create magma pits where they land and pierce the dry ground with its red-spikey tentacles. Stormboe (The Fall Season): Stormboe represents autumn, a lot of raccoons, Heavy winds, and tornados. New Animals such as Hedgehogs, Deers, and Owls! Stormboe would represent the hunting season as well. players would face heavy winds, move slower or even get pushed back by the wind. Thunderstrikes that will be deadly if you are not careful. now for autumn, there are a lot of Ideas for the Giants that will lurk there, maybe a Giant hedgehog that shackles his needles around you. An owl that creates mini tornados. Whitecliff (The Winter Season): Whitecliff is the last Biome. an Ice-Cold stormy snow biome. all animals that show up during winter are there, even polar bears, OX, and Wolves. this is by far the most challenging biome since it has no daylight. Only evening and night. maybe we even find some Evil snowmen. the player would face heavy colds, snow storms and lots of ice and snow. One of the Giants that could be found here might be a Giant Snowman. A King Penguin or a Yeti. How to get there? Well obviously this is something that can be discussed, what I had in mind was that the player would have to craft a Gate for each Biome. once crafted the player can use it and enter the Biome. there are two ways on how those gates would work that I had in mind. Option 1; Way of Seasons: Each gate can only be used when the representing season is active. for example, i can not enter the Stormboe unless the main world is currently in Autumn. Once entered the players day timer starts to turn backward. let's say autumn only lasts 30 days in the main world then the player has only 30 days in which he can move in-between the worlds. so the days would be a "countdown". does the player remain in the biome once 30 days have passed then a new countdown appears this one shows how long it takes before the Fall Season happens again in the main world. another way of Exit would be killing the Giant of the biome, Killing the Giant could drop an item lets say "Spirit of Fall" which allows the player to power the gate and exit. Option 2; The Giants: The player has the option to craft only 1 Gate and can travel only to Evergreen first. he has to kill the Giant get an item lets call it "Spring orb" and use that Item to open the next biome, etc. now again 2 options here; A: he can travel between opened locations as he pleases. B: he always requires an essence to travel to the next Biome meaning he always has to kill the Giant. This is what I have in mind, and this is where you come in place. if you feel like this something you would like to work on, to honor your skills, kill some free time, provide something for the community and yourself, or just like a challenge then I would be happy to work with you on this project. Feel free to comment, critic or add some ideas to this. Either PM me here or drop me a Steam friendship
  17. Hey! I am working on an Abigail mod, and I want Abigail's Flower to be removed from Wendy's inventory (and have that be enabled or disabled in the config menu), but I'm having trouble achieving this. I will include the zip! All the code for Wendy is in the modmain.lua. Here's the relevant part from the file (the recipe part definitely works, it's the actual inventory item that refuses to leave):
  18. hihi I got too into DST lately so I'll be uploading some art(mostly trad bcos im too laz/tired to digital xo) here from time to time! Might try redraw some of these properly online but in the meantime enjoy this first batch; don't be surprised if most are just unsubtle suggestions ;d
  19. Version 1.0.0

Writing on the Klei forums for the first time, I make my entrance with a custom Don't Starve Together character! Pardon me if my formatting is bad, it seems that "space after paragraph" is a permanent option? Anyway, let's get on with it. I present to you... Welial, The Conservationist! Is a pacifist with anger problems Vegetarian and proud Loves nature, hate-fears the unnatural Welial is a nature lover and was previously part of the conservation movement, however she was removed and barred from most groups due to her “wild nature” and “extremism”. Truthfully, she mauled a group of loggers who began operation on what was to be a federal reserve, although she has no recollection of the event. She was lured and pulled into the Don’t Starve world in one of her “angry spells” when she shouted a desire for the power to extinguish the law-breaking factory owners and loggers who repeatedly destroyed her “beautiful natural landscape”. ----- Health: 150 Sanity: 100 Hunger: 200 Game Information: Her damage by default is 50% less than Wilson (the default). However, as her sanity decreases, her damage increases, 1.5% every -1 Sanity, up to 200% damage (x2 default). To match her background, instead of appearing frightened at low sanity, she appears to be enraged. Insanity aura from monsters is increased by x1.2, and picking evil flowers is twice as detrimental. On the flip side, picking flowers is twice as effective, and planting trees gives 5 sanity. She's a vegetarian, so she can't eat meat of any kind. Get farming! She has a special item, her trust trowel! A shovel that has 200 uses and does the same damage as a spear. The character is, for the most part, done. All that is left is to finish off the dialogue quotes and to create a new look for her special shovel. Probably some gameplay tweaks as well need doing, but so far she plays alright, if a bit difficult. I have a lot of people to thank for the creation of this mod. First, the user Dleowolf for their Extended Character Template, and the tutorial that went along with it. Despite that I ended up not using the set of exported folders, save for a base trace for eyes and general face construction. Second, I'd like to thank TheDanaAddams for her "Artist's Guide..." tutorial; it as well was of great help when I started to use Matt's Tools, who is person number three I shall thank: tehMugwump. Lastly, there are at least a dozen other uses I need to thank, once I can find their user names: scouring the forums for bit pieces of code, mostly for a better understanding of the structure of the lua files, how they play off each other, how to call things, overwrite things, and all that jazz. Countless people who had done all the things I wished to do helped me get this horribly simple character off the ground. Moving on, I do plan on getting all of the dialogue edited to be unique and to match this character's nature-loving, spider smashing, angry conservationist personality. And also get that special shovel some original artwork. And probably tweak her current art, because I think her shoes might not fit right, and there may be some face twitching still.
  20. I saw a DS thread for rp but since this is more DST related I decided to make a thread here?? As this is a bit more advertisement-ish lmao Anywho, I've been craving a DST roleplay for some time now, and have done one with a friend of mine but unfortunately can't really do that anymore. Roleplay is sort of an outlet for me from life, and it relaxes me and gives me something to look forward to. I'm looking for someone who can share that bond with me, and even perhaps become a friend of mine. I prefer roleplay through Skype messages or perhaps Kik, just putting that out there. It's required that you be literate with your roleplays. You don't have to make them insanely lengthy but no "walks around" posts. I like detail and complex stories with correct punctuation, spelling, and behavior. (If you make little mistakes honestly that's fine we all do lol) I use Webber as my main character in roleplay, so if you're okay with that we can further discuss who we would rp as out of all the survivors! Here is an example of how I RP: "The arachnid boy carefully slid his webbed claws around the base of the axe, gazing up at the evergreen tree. Huffing, he lifted the axe to the base of the trunk with his premature arms and began hacking away. He grunted with the effort and until he had a decent array of logs beside him did he stop chopping. He was thankful for the many trees in this area, as winter was approaching quickly and wood would be an extreme necessity. However, he still wished he could get some assistance with hauling the heavy logs. Woodie and Wolfgang were great at carrying heavy burdens, and Webber wondered why one of them couldn't come help him. Shaking tree bark from his fur, he huffed and began picking up the logs. They'll be proud of us for doing so good today! Look at all this wood! All of a sudden, a frightening, familiar scent hit him and he turned his head slowly. His fur bristled and the arachnid legs atop his head twitched worriedly. He heard the distant bellows and felt how the air changed all around him, how suddenly it got so quiet yet the bellows only louder. His mind was filled with grotesque scenes in which everyone was stripped limb from limb, slaughtered by the unforgiving, relentless world. His heart beat quickened and he felt a heavy weight in his stomach as if his heart fell into his gut and began rattling his entire body. Hounds." Feel free to leave one of your rp examples, and let me know if you'd be interested! Thanks!

English Attention! This modification is only for Don't Starve Together! Hello, I'm Zekfad - developer of this mod. I know that the same modification already exists, but it doesn't working now (cuz' it marked as server only mod). In my mod I added configuration menu, where you can choice maximum value of server maximum players. Here a options: 6 - default value, same with original game. 8 10 20 - recommended. 35 - I'm sure that you need more... 50 70 100 - if you is playing on dedicated server, this special for you :D. Warning, if you use this modification it doesn't mean that you game-hosted server been marked as dedicated! The purpose of these mods is to provide some proposals for change in mechanics to the developers, help with balance, take up some part of balancing to allow the Klei developers to focus more on other things, while at the same time letting other players out there test the mechanics of these mods to see how well they like them, as well as get feedback to further improve them. Any mods within this file will stay for so long as a certain mechanic is not in place. Whether any of these mechanics are applied to the game depends entirely on the Klei forum, and of course, the Klei DST developers themselves. You can play-test any mechanics from these mods to give feedback on how well you like its contents to help with the process. The mods within this file are created for Don't Starve Together only, therefore most of them may not be compatible with the single player version. You should take in mind that some of these mods were created while A New Reign sequence of updates was still in beta, so be careful with the installation if you cannot access this content in any shape or form. The content of this mod was created using a DS software tool called Sublime and on Windows 8.1 operating system. Any issues in regards to other platforms and operating systems I may not be able to help with. Mod contents Desirable features that are not in the current build of this mod file WARNING: The methods in which some of these modifications have been created involve creating copies of existing files and then editing them. To my knowledge, these mods are compatible with each other, but may not be compatible with other mods out that that use the respective edited files within these mods. Enable with other mods out there with caution, if you so choose to do. The reason a large part of the code is done this way is to keep it easier to create this type of content and to allow developers to make changes more easily, if they decide to include any of the content provided within these mods. If you encounter any bugs, errors, exploits or overlooks as a result of these mod mechanics, or if any information given here is in any way inaccurate, please let me know. Special thanks goes to @Arkathorn and @Desblat for their help in guidance of mod coding. If you want to contribute to the way the you can post your own mechanic changes seperately. Additionally, any changes that aren't already mentioned here, which you think would do well for the game (in relation to what the mods here already cover, e.g. Willow) are welcome. Also, any constructive feedback is welcome. You can discuss this mod and anything related to it in the comments of this mod file page, or in this topic.

Steam Workshop Version: This mod allows you to instantly send a chat message in just a press of a button. Press 'Ctrl + Shift + F6' to toggle the mod on or off. Edit your chat binds via the 'chatbinds.lua' file of this mod. The file is located in the '...\mods\workshop-921637415' folder. How to make your own chat binds: Go to your Don't Starve Together game directory. It will usually be at '...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Don't Starve Together'. If you have gotten the game during Closed Beta or Early-Access, then your game directory will be '...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Don't Starve Together Beta'. Next, go to the 'mods' folder. Then to the 'workshop-921637415' folder. Then open the 'chatbinds.lua' file. The file will have placeholder chat binds at first, but you can change, remove, and add your own chat binds. You can go ahead and remove all the placeholder chat binds, but you can keep them if you want. Now, onto making your own chat bind. Here's a template: { K, "This is an example of a sentence" ,"print", }, What this this does is make you send the message 'This is an example of a sentence' whenever you press the 'K' key on your keyboard. Now, let's add a second chat bind: { K, "This is an example of a sentence" ,"print", }, { V, "My hunger is <hunger> over <maxhunger>" ,"print","whisper","shift" }, What this does is include your current hunger and max hunger in the message. So if you have 90 current hunger and 150 max hunger, then the chat message you will send is 'My hunger is 90 over 150'. Also, notice that there are two more tags, "whisper" and "shift". The "whisper" tag means that your chat message is only whispered to nearby players instead of everyone on the server. The "shift" tag means that hotkey to send the message becomes 'Shift + V' instead of just 'V'. If you add a "ctrl" tag too, then the hotkey becomes 'Ctrl + Shift + V'. Now, let's add a third chat bind: { K, "This is an example of a sentence" ,"print", }, { V, "My hunger is <hunger> over <maxhunger>" ,"print","whisper","shift" }, { F8, {"I've got heads", "I've got tails", } ,"print", }, What this does is randomly choose which one of the messages will be sent. Upon pressing the 'F8' key, you have a 50% chance to say 'I've got heads' and a 50% chance to say 'I've got tails'. You can put as much messages as you like and they will all have an equal chance of being picked. Now, 'chatbinds.lua' should look like this: Hopefully, those examples are good enough of an explanation for how to make your own chat binds. It's very easy as long as you understand what goes where. A list of available keys is located in the '...\mods\workshop-921637415\keys.lua' file. There are more you can do with this mod though. Here is a list of how you can customise your chat binds: Shortcut Result <health> Your character's current health. <maxhealth> Your character's maximum health. <me> Your current in-game name. <hunger> Your character's current hunger. <maxhunger> Your character's maximum hunger.. <sanity> Your character's current sanity. <maxsanity> Your character's maximum sanity. <wetness> Your character's current moisture. <maxwetness> Your character's maximum moisture. <temperature> Your character's current temperature. <beaverness> Your character's current beaverness. <lasttarget> The name of your most recent combat target. <direction> The direction that your camera is facing. <mouse> The name of the entity that your mouse is over. <mouse_distance> The distance in metres between your character and the entity under your mouse. <nearestplayer> The name of the player nearest to your character. <nearestplayer_distance> The distance between your character and the nearest player. <nearestplayer_direction> The direction of the nearest player from your character.
