      UPDATED - Studio Note & Rhymes with Play Streams Temporarily Canceled.   03/06/2020

      UPDATE (3/19/20): Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online, extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.   That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.  We will let you know as we see how these changes affect our timelines.  Thanks UPDATE (3/10/20):
      The test yesterday went well. We got the whole office (mostly) to work from home without significant issue. As a result, Klei Staff that can work from home have been asked to do so until further notice.  This means that we will have to cancel the Rhymes with Play stream until we are all back in the office. This shouldn't affect anything else at least in the short term, but if things change I will update you all here.  Original Post: Hey everybody,  This Tuesday March 10th, 2020 the entire staff at Klei will be working remotely for 1 day in an effort to prepare the studio to work remotely for a little while if the need arises.  Klei is already set up pretty well to allow for working remotely, however we are going to have a one day "dry run" with the whole studio so that we can identify and avoid any issues or downtime that may arise should choose to implement a work from home policy due to COVID-19 outbreak concerns. Unfortunately this does mean that we will be canceling the “Rhymes with Play” Art stream this coming Tuesday, however unless the situation changes we expect everything at the studio to be back to normal Wednesday and we’ll continue our regular stream schedule Thursday March 12th. If the situation changes at all, we'll let you know. Thanks for your understanding.

  2. New to the forums, I've decided to post my feedback of the game. So far, the game is great. There's just one small detail that literally nips the entire experience in the bud. The hounds. I personally like the idea of hounds coming from nowhere to gank you, but I think there should be limits as to when they spawn. At the moment, I've encountered many Hound spawns that have ended my run as early as Day 2. My personal thinking is to have them only start to spawn after Day 10. I think that new players especially would be turned away from continuing the game if they faced that kind of difficulty so early on. Also, I think players who are hearing impaired would appreciate some sort of visual indication as to when they're going to spawn, like the character saying something like "What's that growling sound..?" Thanks for reading, and I apologize in advance if this feedback is similar to any other thread. I took a glance and a quick search and didn't really find anything talking about this. Edit: I think it would be more fair/balanced if future updates would provide ways to counter or defend from the hounds. At night you have a simple campfire, if they spawn, 9 times out of 10 you're probably going to die without the right defenses. If there was a way to counter them, it would be excruciatingly helpful. Like a house, or better armor/weapons, or maybe something to scare them away from you.

  4. Hello there, One functionality that might be kind of cool is if worlds could be retained after death, even if you make a new world. Just the seed would be saved. The benefit of this is if you play a map you really like and die, you can play a new one if you want but come back to the older one later(maybe after you have forgotten). Usually, I play a new world each time but it sucks to give up a cool world seed forever just because you don't wan't to play in it again right away. Thoughts anyone?
  5. Just updated Don't Starve. Now when I click on Steam to play the game i hear the music and a black screen comes up. Music keeps playing but no buttons or links come up with it. This didn't happen before! Please HELP!
  6. Because I am in trouble since I researched all my amulets a long time ago. I swear I probably gathered like 20 of them and that could have given me 20 lives. I am on day 125 and have a pretty nice set up, should I start a new game when the update comes out or switch back to wilson and make a crap ton of effigies? I only have one made right now because I literally have not come close to dying with my pig army and constant supply of food from my garden and berry bushes. I think that is why they are making it harder in the first place, so it won't be a cake walk. Should I just see how it plays out and try to fight off the dogs off, or just start a new game and collect a bunch of amulets before the update?
  7. Hello everyone. I got into Don't Starve about a week ago, and have enjoyed it so far. I really liked what I saw in the A&L section, so set myself some homework and had a scribble over the weekend. I deviated from the DS style only because I thought it would be interesting. I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, even though it's pretty plain and I've identified a few mistakes since finishing it. You live and learn:wink: (Acrylic on paper)
  8. I experienced a weird thing. I saw big tree, and when i cut them down no noise were made during the chopping. When it was cut down, i got 2 pinecones(normal) 3 logs(normal) and a charcoal (wut?). So i think there is a bug that make burned tree grow back (either when we exit or something or just naturally). On the steam version.
