  1. I just have to say how much I love this game('s) music. The main menu, the ingame music, the boss music, the trailer music! That darn trailer song. I start the game just to hear the music and watch the trailers just for it. Thank you Klei!
  2. Hello! It's my first feedback on Klei forums. I'll try to be argumentative and organized. Although there are 7 characters in the game that we can select from, each feel slightly different and have different things to say, it seems clear to me that some are MUCH stronger than the others. From the gameplay perspective it reduces the number of optimal characters and pushes you to play them. Of course, a stubborn person will still pick something he or she prefers, but it makes no sense why they should be punished for that. I will go through all the characters and try to give a suggestion on what should be addressed by Klei Entertainment. Wilson - His beard is one of the abilities that can remain useful throughout the game. He is the only character that will be able to build Meat effigy without exploiting or even dropping down his Sanity Willow - She is immune to fire, her fire-starting tendencies can occasionally cause you trouble, but if you're careful it will never happen. Considering that up to half of incoming Hell Hounds are flaming, her immunity will go a long way in helping you through-out the game. Wendy - I her. By far my favorite character, aesthetically. Her ability (Abigail coming at night) is NOT strong enough, as far as I'm concerned. Not only it can potentially kill you if you happen to be very low on health, but also her aggro logic is frustrating. Wendy is as fragile as anybody else and for the ghost of Abigail to attack anything, this anything must hit Wendy first (Needless to say, it is not very useful during fights with creatures like Spider Queens). Wolfgang - If I had to name one character that is blatantly overpowered, it would be Wolfgang. Realistically, he is the only character that has 3 (!!!) positive abilities. He gets +100HP; +75 Stomach Size; +Additional Hitting Power with any item in hand. He is the only character in the game that can kill a basic creature with 3 hits, instead of 4 with an axe (or any other Craftsman tool). As it stands right now, I believe he should be either nerfed or slightly redesigned, because as it stands today he is the most optimal out of all the characters. Alternative would be to buff other characters across the board, but that may make the game's difficulty a little bit too easy. WX78 - His ability to eat spoiling food without any penalty is a good help to the player, as you need to eat regularly anyway. However, as it stands today, the spoiling mechanics are not yet refined and the different stages of spoil are not that hindering to the player.. If you are going to fine-tune them, he may become dramatically more useful or incrementally less useful. Wickerbottom - In my eyes, the weakest character in the game (after Wes). Her ability allows her to access Tier 1 researches without having the Science Machine. IMO when you are committing to build your base, the Alchemy Engine will be built this way or the other soon enough (I don't even start my base without it), so her ability will become obsolete very very quickly. Literally, she WILL NOT have any ability after she gets Alchemy Engine. If I would translate her ability into resource saved it would be 1 Gold Nugget, 4 Logs, 4 Stones. This is not really helpful at all... Wes - I am not going to discuss him, as I understand his role to provide a lot more challenge to the player. TLDR: Some characters are OP and some others are UP. I suggest to nerf Wolfgang; buff Wendy and Wickerbottom; reconsider WX78 and leave Wes, Willow and Wilson alone. Thanks for reading!
  3. We know that the next update will be the Winter update and it sounds like it will be fun and hard. So I was thinking the polar opposite could be the Summer update where it's hot as hell and most things die off. Forest fires have been suggested also I'd love to see a water mechanic added that's only around during summer. New animals and bosses could be introduced and the landscape could change to mostly rocky and beefalo plains with forests and grasslands sprinkled here and there. So what do the rest of you think I'd love to see other people's ideas on this.
  4. I think that Werepig drop items needs nerfs. They always drop 2 meat and pig skin, while I like the 100% chance for pig skin, 2 meat must go away. Maybe change it to 2 monster meat, or 1 normal meat and 1 monster meat, or just monster meat.
  5. Wondering if the Devs might address being able to reuse your game key (Steam in this case) in Chrome an later in the PC version. (If you had a way to verify you where the original purchaser)This will come up as you get more users who want to play, let's say, at home and at work (during lunch of course!).Right now, I'm sitting on the Chrome screen for Account Information and there's a button that says "Get Steam Key". Doesn't do anything because I don't have Steam on this PC, but wondering...

I came up with some pretty knifty character ideas in case the creators were trying to add in more but couldn't think of any (they are in order of description, then name, then ability) Witch Doctor-Wandabu-darts fired do much more damage than when fired by other characters Shaman-Walks With Wolves-dogs are friendly toward this character and instead of attacking, they follow him Pack Rat (huge rat)-Whiskers-the more grave junk he has in his inventory, the higher his health becomes Archer-Whitney-(a bow and arrows would have to be implemented into the game first (bow-3sticks/10webs, arrow-1tooth/1stick/1feather)) she could shoot further than the other characters, and her arrows wouldn't break after hitting the enemy Druid-Ward-if a carrot is nearby you during a full moon it will slowly turn into a mandrake, ware-pigs that hit you turn back into normal pigs, and there is a lower chance for a tree guardian to appear Fancy Man-Winston-the better his outfit the stronger he is (how quaint) Nun-Wisdom-all ghosts near her immediately vanish Train Robber (from cowboy times)-Walker-the less items in his inventory the faster he is (still not that fast though) Warlock-Walid-when attacking he shoots a bolt of lightning that stuns the enemy for 2.5 seconds (there is a 3 minute cooldown between shots, and the lightning bolt has priority over his normal attacks (so it is fired automatically)) Necromancer-Wakefield-on full moons he can sacrifice a mandrake and some gold to summon a ghoul to lend him a hand in battle/etc (the ghoul would be like a pigman but have more health (note: it doesn't have to be a ghoul, i was going to say an undead pigman (because there aren't really any humans around) but an undead pigman is pretty simalar to Minecraft))
  8. I love all the characters, but my favorite is Willow because I can burn all enemies in my path! (as long as i walk 10 feet from my berry bushes). I like Wendy's personality, but I feel that her ability is almost always useless. Abagail never shows up when I need her, and when she does show up she spawns on top of me and almost kills me. I feel that Wolfgang has the exact opposite problem as Wendy. His personality is unbelievably steriotypical, but 200% health and stomach is amazing! Wilson= unlimited lives, enough said. What about everyone else? what do you guys think of the characters? P.S I looked at the "possible" characters that people data mined, and I hope the Spider "Webber" makes it into the game! Not sure what his animations would be like though. A spider wielding a spear seems overpowered...
  9. His nature, well, he is afraid of everything; loves nature (…at least while he is in sane human form…) Demonic form in progress… Isn't that Walter (which is awesome, in my opinion). I'm sorry, MilleniumCount; it was just the first name, that came up in my head, that starts with "W" letter.   10. Name: Wayland The Sociopath. Look: Thinish build, with sharp features rather than handsome. Sinister smile and bags around his eyes. Clothes: White and black Straight-jacket. Hair:medium finger brushed apart hair, hair color grayish white. Special power: Split personality that is the insane part of him, his name is Watende which means revengeful. - change happens randomly (don't know why it didn't update) and he will not change back to you kill something, Watende will make remarks/jest about things he kills. And say his other side is weak. -Wayland is immune to insanity at the cost of his other side being fully insane. If a new update comes out for weapons: Custom knife? That when examined says. Taste of vengeance is sweet. Background: Wayland once lived a happy life with his family. His mum and dad. They thought their son was going insane, talking to himself all the time. He had only one friend he called him Watende. His other side. When he was 10 his parents died horribly through murder, by their uncle because they were wealthy. But he didn't know that Wayland was watching, in his anger a voice inside his head told him that his parents blood must be re-payed so he grabbed a knife from the kitchen draw and.... you can guess what happened next. Wayland was sent to a mental institution he was locked in a room, tortured and in solitude, but he still had his "friend" Watende. He remained their till he was a early man. Going into game/appearance. One night he and Watende had enough and so they broke out. In the dark, in the madness and insanity he blacked out and woke up in a strange new world. He saw a sinister looking man, named Maxwell who told him "Say pal you don't look so good. You better get something to eat before night comes." New Items If a new update comes out with weapon ideas: A nice new sparkling knife! Maybe less appealing than a big spear but what this thing doesn't make up in size it makes up in speed and ferocity! Considered all posts and I am deciding that maybe his change occurs randomly. Suggestions have been thought out, will leave for a Beta. Easiest way is just to create Wayland and leave Watende for later, if the developers would like to make their own powers/perks to him... That's all for now. I hoped you liked it and the story, please be gentle with the comments. But feel free to post anything about it, more ideas or anything really is appreciated! Thank you. Zachary.   11. Hey all this is my first post on the forums , I wanted to ask if anyone knows exactly or roughly how many days I need to survive to unlock each character. I'm currently on my second attempt playing as willow and I've survived to day 50 so far and I want to know how many more days i must go to unlock the next character after willow and any/all characters beyond that. Anyone know?

Describe your issue Haven't been able to open Don't Starve since Wednesday, 11/21. At first I thought it was possibly being updated but I assume it should now be back up but every time I attempt to open the game it instantly tells me that The app is currently unreachable. Any help?
