  1. While playing around with @Mullematsch questions yesterday on "Big Boy Power System Help," I stumbled on a way to create infinite power. A brief search in the forum bug reports did not reveal anything (I'll post a bug report after a discussion). Let's start with pictures. What are you looking at? The 6 small transformers are followed by a battery (smart or regular) that never gets any charge, and then a smart battery switch that disconnects the 1kw line from the 20kw line. The left most 3 transformers take all the power sent to them and push it out to the 1kw line, which cycles back and fills the smart battery switch. Every tick of the game, the power essentially doubles. Read on. The key piece that makes this work is the empty battery between the transformers and the smart battery switch. Remove this battery (which supposedly does nothing as it never charges) and the build responds correctly, with power being consumed. How does it work? Not sure. (Edit: My current hypothesis is explained, with a formula, here.) I am guessing that the transformers try to pull from both the smart battery switching section, as well as the empty battery, and somehow successfully draw full power with half drawn from each. The build above effectively outputs 3kw from the transformers, but only drains 1.5kw (doubling the power in the system). You can use the extra 1.5kw to power whatever you want. Swap out the 6 transformers above for 5 big transformers (20kw of cycling power), and you can power 10kw of whatever you want (already tested it out). All of this can be done before cycle 10. Coal power? Why? Just use a wheel to insert a tiny bit of power into this thing, and then watch the power double rapidly (put the smart battery switch sensor really low to see it expontially fill). Crazy? Yep. Anyone know if this has been seen before? I know other bug reports are out there involving transformers pushing more power than they are supposed to push, but I don't recall them magically creating the power when trying to draw from an empty battery. Who needs infinte power from turbines anymore. Just use transformers and batteries. Haha. Have fun tinkering.
  2. Dear fellow Starvers, development time for the Hamlet DLC is coming to a close, with only 1 1/2 months to go and still a lot of content to be introduced. Looking at the Bug Tracker makes me feel very nervous. Sure, it's absolutely reasonable to focus on fixing frequent crashes and game-breaking stuff first. However, my concern is that once April rolls around, the game will be left in an unpolished state with many of the minor issues and oversights never being adressed (similar to how the Shipwrecked DLC ended up being dropped like a hot potato before the Home Sea Home update beta branch). Also, the Bug Tracker is a mess. It's 60+ pages of bugs reported over and over again since November, all in varying degrees of clarity and reproducibility. A lot of them have been fixed since, but were never marked accordingly. Some of them have quite obvious solutions and require only a single line of code to be fixed, others are described in a very vague way or may be caused by mods. When Shipwrecked was criticized for being unpolished, understandbly the most common response by the developers was: "Please tell us exactly what those bugs are, so we can fix them." So that's my plan for this thread! I'd like to create a comprehensive list of issues still present in the Hamlet DLC, grouped into categories. Each of these issues should be sufficiently reproducible, be described as precise and tight as possible, and have dates, links and credits to their initial reports. No duplicates, only stuff that is clearly not working as intended, no suggestions or personal opinions. If you think, this could be a good idea, please feel free to comment and contribute! I'm hoping to have your support! ________________________ All listed bugs have been tested and reproduced in a completely non-modded game version (Steam Build-ID: 3601636) with verified file integrity. Testing for Build-ID 3661759 is under way! Interiors: Characters: Items: Mobs: Strings: UI: ________________________ Stuff to look into (not tested yet): Stuff that has been fixed, hooray!
  3. I love this game to pieces so I wanted to compile a list of what I believe to be animation bugs. Here's a list of small graphical errors. 1. The lines on a cool vest disappear for one frame while climbing a ladder 2. Duplicants with the Ugly Criers trait incorrectly make the "I'm gonna vomit" face when mounting/dismounting ladders 3. Duplicants with the Ugly Crier Trait repeat their crying animation a few times instead of it looping (I'm unsure if this is intentional or not) Basically, they snap upwards and cry in a way that looks a bit bizarre, the gif starts when Nails runs by. I'm also unsure if them creating and deleting water is intentional or not. 4. Composts simply bubble as a still image instead of using it's green bubbling animation present in earlier builds. I recall there being there in a fairly recent build where the pitchfork was in there. Apologies for using this very old footage on the right. 5. While I cannot find reliable footage of this, I noticed that Bluff Briar used to sway from side to side, but now it's stiff. Was this changed for any reason or is it a bug? 6. Baby Normal Hatchlings play the sleeping animation for stone Hatchlings, I believe that all Hatchlings do this but I cannot get footage of it. . 7. I'm unsure if this can be fixed but gasses render oddly when you move around too fast, you can see the colors change briefly. This isn't really noticeable in normal game-play however. This is my current list, for now, if I come across any more I'll add it as a comment to this post.
  4. * Ro Bin despawn if you leave it in ruins alone * Hound tooth can't be traded * Birch texture not shown in inventory for logs * Work music not play after entering jungle * Half the soundtracks in game not played correctly (listed in bug tracker link provided) * Subsequent divining rod beeps don't happen So many bugs pending, none set to any other status. Klei fixes a lot of bugs, but doesn't keep track of them well enough, so you get this nonesense where bugs reported, but never paid attention to. Remember one time a very well-known bug was talked about and discussed and only until it was mentioned in a hotfix topic with an admin pinged, because apparently they were not aware of the bug at all. And will Skyworthy/Seaworthy issues ever be addressed? There is already bug where going to Shipwrecked world via Skyworthy spawns you at Seaworthy even when Skyworthy is also present in Shipwrecked, and what would happen if you have two Skyworthies in one world because you moved to new world with silly string in Shipwrecked or RoG/Vanilla or have precrafted Skyworthy in those worlds before moving? Their mechanics need changing, may be something like this.
  5. Bugs If i quit and save the game and come back bosses despawn. Joystick You guys should reallyyyyy improve the joystick. It always messes up with inventory while you are moving. You could get it up a bit or add configuration option for players to choose where they want the joystick at. Cloud Save This is for players who wants to play the game at different devices and save the progression. Cloud save is needed for a long time also for pc version. It will be awesome if you add it.
  6. Q.O.L. Bugs

I know there is an official bug tracker but I figured I would list some of the bugs I have been encountering as well as some bugs I have seen other people mention since the Q.O.L. update. I am doing this so I don't have to report each bug individually or have to randomly comment on another thread. My hopes is this will help Klei figure out how to best deal with the bugs and other people may feel free to contribute if I missed anything. Tumbleweeds disappear upon hitting the edge of the map Beefalo can travel to Shipwrecked and through wormholes which causes major issues (I wont include individual bugs that world hopping can cause because that will take forever). Beefalo will not allow player to mount it unless you feed it at least one piece of grass. Making a board as Warbucks can crash the game Some boss music seems to be missing/not working correctly Bundling Chester's eyebone will cause chester to stop following you. Some Shipwrecked clothes items along with the Machete are available to craft in R.O.G. Using the brush on a Beefalo doesn't give you any wool. Making a Hamlet world Large in the world options just generates a never ending loading screen. Peekos can spawn and climb down chopped down Tea Trees Some dark spots appear on the left hand side of the screen when the fog effect occurs during Humid Season. The loading music can sometimes continue into the actual start of the game (it goes away eventually but still annoying). Burning a cocooned tree will leave the webbing on the floor. It'll also have an invisible stump that prevents building of structures and prevents you from walking through it, but can't be dug up. Burchnuts bounce when planted. birds stop spawning after first Zound wave. Working music only plays the first time you craft an item and then never plays again unless you relog. Divining rod only sounds once and then remains quiet while still showing its effects without sound. Jumped to Shipwrecked at the end of lush season in Hamlet, ended up in dry season but without eruptions and Alter was dormant and was not open to sacrifices of any kind. As of last patch the crockpot crashes the game. Hopefully this is helpful, let me know if I missed anything.
  7. Please choose a category *Pick the option that fits the issue the most. Ideally use this in your thread title aswell* [Gameplay] Platform * Pick your platform. For instance, standalone on Mac is also possible.* [*]Steam Do you use mods? yes, but only mods that add new characters and doesn't modify vanilla ones, and I wasn't using a mod character Version Number 83854 Issue title Lucy stuck floating in the ar after Woodie transformation. Steps to reproduce I have a feeling this is just somthing with a chance to happen or that happened due to a coincidence and will be hard to reproduce, but here's what I did. Enter Maxwell's door as Woodie, and transform on the first day. Spend two days as a beaver, and transform back. Return to Lucy. When I did so, she was floating above the floor and I couldn't pick her up. Describe your issue I discovered Maxwell's Door as Woodie. On the first day, I chopped enough tree to transform. I went around the land for a couple of days, gnawing up some resources to collect later. I didn't notice if she was floating when I was transformed. When I transformed back, I went a little bit south back to where I transformed at, to find my items laying about as they should be, and Lucy floating higher than Woodie's head. Clicking on her and holding space near her both just left Woodie's sprite twitching furiously under her. She gave occassional dialogue clips as though she were laying about per usual, (and wow some of those are heartbreaking, especially when you're physically inable to pick her up.)
  8. When I press spacebar while next to a finished crockpot, it does not harvest said crockpot. During combat, my character often starts to pick a bush or sapling instead of swinging my spear at the spider RIGHT BEHIND ME. I don't know how my girlfriend can play the game on her laptop. All these problems AND MORE!!! can be yours if you don't fix the buggy unintuitive control scheme you've established. How in the HECK did Wilson know that GOSH DARN tentacle was there ANYWAY?? HUH? HUH CLAY INTERACTIVE?? TELL ME THAT DANG IT!!Anywayz, Please do not rush into some separate control system for the ps4 right off the bat, fix the PC version's control scheme first so the mouse is more optional and spacebar acts smarter (I don;t care how you figure out ranged target selection without a mouse JUST DO IT). I know I'm not gonna get an overhaul to the control system, but if the interface/controls are better on ps4 I will try to return my game. Not because I plan to switch to the ps4 version, but because pc gamers are always getting the short end of the developer after paying him. We made you the success you are, don't hand a better game to someone who payed you a lot less money just because you've already tapped out the PC market. Don't do my like that klei, don't do me like that.
