Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me get the following issues resolved; I have been trying to complete these last few attributes to get the character completely play testable. *extra nightmare fuel and less sanity back on kill from nightmare kills *insanity aura for nearby players only *Sanity regen at night, no sanity loss at dusk, sanity loss during day *Damage scaling on the lower sanity Any help given on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I started working on my mod and I cannot get it to work... I looked into the logs then discovered that it did not compile correctly, and I can't get it to compile at all! It compiles the ghost but not the rest of my character can someone please help me?

  4. Suppose there's a mod on the Steam Workshop that I really like, and a game update causes the mod to stop working. The mod hasn't been updated in several months, and the mod creator doesn't seem to notice anyone's comments about offering to help fix it. Would I be out of line to fix the mod myself and re-publish it to the Steam Workshop? I would obviously give credit to the original author. What else would I need to do to not be perceived as a thieving jerk?
  5. As title says, I'm currently making another character mod that also has a ghostly companion like Wendy. I basically made use of the same codes as Wendy does but I'd want her ghostly companion to be spawned without waiting for her item's charge time and instead of offering a sacrifice, I'd prefer her companion to be spawned by giving it a telltale heart. How should I go about with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Hi there! So I've been working on my mod for a while now and have most of the art done so I decided to test it. It shows up in the mod select screen but NOT in the character select screen.   7. (I have no idea where to put this, but I think this category should be alright) Ladies and Gentlemen, consider this a cry for help. My mind has been haunted recently, by an idea that simply won't be silenced by such petty things as reason and logic. I see before me, a character mod. Not any character mod, no. A mod of Gilgamesh, the dimension-hopping, weapon-collecting self-proclaimed master swordsman from the Final Fantasy universe. How such a glorious character is not already an existing mod is beyond me, especially when that wimpy blond potatocup of the same name from that Fate thing is available. Alas, the tragic part – having absolutely zero experience with game modding (aside from editing the occasional .ini file to get rid of fov-induced headaches) and also being completely artistically inept, I find myself completely unable to create this mod on my own. So, I beseech you, fellow admirers of Gilgamesh, because I know you're out there! If you find yourself smitten by his gloriousness, and also are the slighest bit talented at creating character mods for Don't Starve or Don't Starve Together, please... do me and the whole of humanity a service! I'll even write all the custom quotes, since talking bollocks is the only thing I was ever capable of. Here are some ideas of how the character might play. Stats: Health: 200 Hunger: 150 Sanity: 120 These are just baselines, of course, but since Gilgamesh is all about battle, at least his health should be reasonably high. He usually carries a set of Genji armour in the games; this armour is often times among the best sets in the games it appears in, almost always providing immunity to status effects. Alas, status effects aren't really a thing in DS outside of the poison in Shipwrecked and arguably sleep darts/mandrakes. The armour could be included as an expensive craftable; no idea what the recipe should be yet, but due to matching colour and status, I think it should involve thulecite. Maybe call it „Genshi Armour“ or somehting like that to link in with Gilgy's fake weapon gimmick Now, the most interesting aspect that also would be the hardest to implement – Gilgamesh can 'morph' his physical appearance; usually from a smaller 2-armed form into a big, bulky 8-armed form. So how about, using a similar technique as for Woodie and his Werebeaver form, if certain conditions are met, Gilgy can burst out his extra arms and go wild? For example, he could have a bar similar to the log meter that slowly fills the more he hits enemies, and when it's full, he transforms. In his morphed form, getting hit doesn't hurt him but lowers his morph meter (which obviously also goes down passively), and when it empties he reverts back to his normal form, but with filled health and an almost empty stomach. Obviously I'm just spitballing ideas here, and for all I know that morphing mechanic might be downright impossible to implement. But I ask you this – would it not be cool? Because I think it would be. Rise, Fellow Fans of Final Fantasy's Fantastic Character! If we all work together, we can make 'Wilgamesh' a reality!

When I manually transfer the mod to the mod directory on Don't Starve Together game the mod works great and as intended, but after removing all mods and restoring the directories back to normal and I upload the MOD to steam and subscribe to it, I can launch the game fine towards the game's main menu, but as soon as I hit "Host Server" or "Mods" my game crashes with no error code. Windows just says there was an error in the application. Can somebody help me, pretty please? I added the whole MOD to the attached files as well as the error message.   9. Hey guys I am working on a sanity aura and all i have is inst:AddComponent("sanityaura") inst.components.sanityaura.aura = TUNING.SANITYAURA_MED But i dont know how to go about changing the strength of the aura or the effect radius of the aura any help would be appreciated.
  10. As some might know, I've been working on a cave boss theme for DS/DST for a bit (took two full days to do this) and I've made two attempts. Although, I never got it to sound quite like DS/DST soundtracks. The samples I've been given don't sound exactly like some of the instruments in DS/DST soundtracks and even tweaking an instrument sample would be difficult or perhaps even impossible to get just about a recreation of a sample from DS/DST tracks. And I think that's the biggest reason why we don't have that many sound/music related mods out there; we're given code, art, animation etc. to mess around with, but not sounds or soundtracks and that's really a bummer. I don't know why Klei has not let us do some modding with the existing tracks, but it would be great if they did; think of the potential this could provide for modders; creating your own tracks that sound like and just as good as some of the DS/DST originals. If we're given the soundtracks and the ability to edit their samples, I would have a much better time of getting my version of a DS/DST caves boss theme. And whilst some may say "it's good enough" or "it's excellent" when I present what I've done so far, for me it certainly isn't good enough; because it's not at the standard of the real tracks. This is also the reason why I personally do not like the dusk/night music mod soundtracks, whilst everyone else just adores it. And you've gotta remember; I've tried to make my track via Reason 8, which is a pretty good sound/music editing software and yet I still couldn't get things at a good enough standard where I think "Yes, I love this! It's as if Vince de Vera and Jason Garner themselves made it!"
  11. Hey, DST modding community! I'm Reagle, a sorta-new member to the DS + DST fan train, as well as a writer who desperately needs a new project. So, if you need someone to write tons of quotes for your new character or items, comment! Before you do, here are a couple of things I think I should say before we team up: 1. No profanity. Don't Starve, while heavy and dark at times, is overall a classy and funny game. If I ever saw Wicker drop the F-Bomb, something would definitely seem off. However, simple words that refer to something else are allowed, such as damn and Hell. We're in the 1900s people, let's keep that in mind. 2. Original ideas only. While I love all ideas and ingenuity, characters made in other media belong in other media. 3. Be open to new ideas. Restricting yourself is no way to go. The reverse is true as well- be willing to put your foot down when you want to keep the idea of a character intact. 4. Be serious about the Mod. I'd rather not work like crazy and then see that you aren't really interested getting it off the ground.   12. I really hope somebody can help me with this... So I'm having problems coding with my character... For example I want my character to lose sanity when it hits a butterfly so I wrote this code inst:ListenForEvent("onattackother", function(inst, data) if victim.prefab == "butterfly" then inst.components.talker:Say(GetString(inst, "ANNOUNCE_HIT")) inst.components.sanity:DoDelta(-TUNING.SANITY_HUGE) end) but it just keeps crashing and I have no idea of what to do ... Can someone please enlighten me on what would be the correct way to go about this because I have no idea what's wrong... I'll be so thankful if someone can help me ! But creating content like this takes a huge amount of time and effort. So I figured maybe I could make some money with my hard work if I offered commissioned Don't Starve characters for those who were interested. Thus, I decided to offer Don't Starve character commissions on my website, which can be found here- http://www.sageoflegend.com/commissions/ This initially seemed like a pretty harmless endeavor to me. Offering custom characters for people who A) want them and B) can afford to pay for my time and expertise (I wouldn't fall into that latter category myself). I'd seen some other mods on the DS workshop that were clearly commissioned before, so I figured why not? What I overlooked were the conflicts with the Steam Workshop Subscriber Agreement, which commenters swiftly brought to my attention. Since I can't technically use the developer tools or workshop for commercial purposes, I figured I'd still be fine to sell people assets outside of Steam for use in creating their own mods. I can sell images and code to whoever I want on my own website, right? That seems reasonable to me, but one gate remains: I would like to know how Klei feels about commissioned content like this. While I believe that my time and skills are worth paying for and that I'm bringing quality content to the workshop (which in turn brings value to the game), at the end of the day I would be making money off of Klei's game. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for this company, so if Klei takes issue with commissioned assets like this I will simply pull the plug on it. Hello everybody, just a quick heads up on some of the changes that recently went in with the modding tools: Mod Uploader: - Fixed a crash when uploading to the workshop: files and directories with names starting with a "." should not be uploaded. - Added an "Upload Redundant Files" option. After being compiled certain files don't need to be uploaded. The redundant file formats are: "png", "jpg", "jpeg", "gif", "bmp", "fla", "scml", "mp3", "wav", make sure this option is checked if you still want to upload these files. Autocompiler: - Whenever a mod failed to compile the autocompiler would stop working and not go through the remaining mods on the list. That has been fixed and the change should be included in the GitHub repository in the next few days. If anyone has any questions or concerns, just let me know.

So I've had this idea for awhile and thought there was something in the works but figured I just post this suggestion in case there isn't or that anyone in our awesome modder community hasn't attempted this or even thought of it. Me personally am an idiot when it comes to computers and stuff so there is no way I could make this mod. So here goes nothin: Some sort of Team play mod. What do you mean by this? Isn't the whole idea of Together to work as a Team? While yes DST is meant to be played as a one whole collaborative team game it rarely is. In fact on most public server you find a slew of bases all over the place and very few of them are populated by more than 2 people. Also there are plenty of private servers where the idea is everyone works together and build one collaborative base. But here's the thing. In the single base mode we are all winners. Who is the loser? No one because there is no competition. What I propose is a mod that splits a map into 2 or more teams. Upon joining the world you can either choose or are assigned a team. These maps would of course be PvP and members of your own team are flagged as friends and therefore safe from you while the other team is of course flagged as foe and not safe from you. This in turn would open the game up to another style of play and more importantly other modes of play. The key aspect of this is splitting the players and creating a way of distinguishing who is on your side and who is on the other side. Imagine a world where 2 teams fight for control of parts of the world, secure specific resources found only in their secured corner, and where 2 teams work with their respected others to create bases and defeat the others. And most importantly we have a game that has what all games sometimes need and most often have, winners and losers( xP ). Most importantly this would allow us to create a capture the flag mode(alternately you could just make a capture the flag mod but splitting the map into two teams is still necessary). And of course we already have our 2 flags: chester and glommer. No way to hide the flag in your inventory cause the flag hops or flys behind you (you would need to make it so neither one of them can be killed most importantly for glommer otherwise how do you respawn your flag? Wait for full moon? NOPE too OP and every team with glommer would kill him instantly to keep thier flag unattainable). So this is my idea. I dunno if anyone has thought of it as well or is already working on it but just in case I figured I would put it out in the ether and hope this becomes a reality.

  19. I have tried reinstalling game, deleting all the contents manually before it, forcing to load mods as described in .lua file. None of this is working. (Subscribed to mods via steam workshop. All mods are loaded in mods folder correctly, but no mods in game, only links to download at right column) [Linux]

For some reason I can't upload any pictures or change my avatar, when I try to change my avatar it linked me to a page saying this: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@forums.kleientertainment.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Also, when I try to post a pic, it will make an error pop up or not do anything at all, just taking away the add picture gui with no pic on the post.
