  1. Hello, I would like to build a Character that can craft custom items but only if near an specific character. Has someone an idee how to do it?
  2. There are too many similarities between Wagstaff's buildings and the new building that was revealed. The color palate is the exact same as the thumper, the base of the building looks very similar to the telepad, even the texture is the exact same as the buildings with the bolted metal scheme. Now I don't think this will be a Wagstaff only building but the design seems to be very similar to his style of buildings which could possibly hint at him being added.
  3. you know i want to actualy hear if peopel have ideas for a new character because of klei say a new character comes this year so i want to see if some of you came up whit original ideas and i got some too you know klei says its a "dlc" character and all of them are none humans but i alsol got thinkin that wolfgang is all attack and wigfrid has attack and defense so i was thinkin about a full defense character and came up whit the idea of a knight because they wear like heavy armor but then think again about the none human part that got me the idea that knights hunt dragons and do make it funny have the none human character be a lizard knight and i got alredy looks stats and perk ideas too wonder what your ideas will be
  4. After a long hiatus of 2 years, I started working on my custom-animated character again, and I'm using the example template character from 2 years ago (2019). I don't know if there's a newer one I should be using or not. I know I'm stupid for doing this anyway. But the character is an 8-legged spider, I have to. I was wondering how to implement the character animations I made from Spriter, the one that came with DST's mod tools on steam(or is there a different animation program I should be using?) into the game. How do I get the game to read and play animations when it should? Also, is there a master list of animations I need to re-create(and can I implement custom emotes so my character can preform them with the / command)? I can tell some animations are actually 2 separate animations that play one after the other, and it gets confusing. There's also in game objects characters hold(Like a pickaxe). Does the game place those, or is that another animation? This is Dot, say hi! BTW, I don't know how to code with .lua in any way. help.

  6. i saw some streamers on their dedicated servers that other players who using random character with custom class for example : webber with wendy class i mean webber has abigail and wendy voices... how is this possible?
  7. As the title is, I wanna use character abilities of Reforge on normal DST world. especially Maxwell's shadow attack, healing skill of Warly, and buff of Wigfrid and so on.. There's Forge item pack in workshop, but there's no forge character abilities. I couldn't find about this and If it is possible, I wanna use or make the mode. Can I get an answer from here?   8. Disclaimer: I am aware this topic is referring to subjective opinions at best and to hurtful stereotypes and prejudice relating them at worst, so I am asking you to remain polite. Anything said in this topic will probably be personal opinions, so it's perfectly correct not to agree with them. I hope I'm not doubling this topic, as I don't remember if it has been discussed already. I did a little bit of searching, but I'm quite terrible at it, so I wouldn't be surprised I missed it (or them!). Nevertheless we met a couple of new survivors recently, so I figured we could stir the pot a little bit Please feel free to check a character if you don't like their personality, appearance, their mechanics in game or even players that usually pick them. I found out it's usually a little of it all and sometimes even something special. Wilson, Wolfgang and Webber for me, sorry, not sorry

So i am working in a dupe Mod for dst and i think that i can add more dupe "skins" that's the first option, the second it will be do every character separated and put the same mod but with the other character (very annoying) so if someone know any tutorial or something like that it will be very helpful (my inglish is bad, please don't kill me cx)

I'm probably so close to finishing my character mod but still there is one thing I want to do but don't understand I want evil flowers to be like normal flowers (having same food stats, having same aura and when picking up getting +5 sanity) On the other hand i want normal flowers to be like evil flowers (having food stats like evil flowers, having negative aura, when picking up -5 sanity) So is it even possible that my character would be only affected?

As the title say's I wish to make a wickerbottom like character but for magic, I've seen that wicker uses ; inst.components.builder.science_bonus = 1 And it seems to work on my character as well but this is science, would I need to code this in? if so please nudge me in the right direction.   14. Hello again. sorry for all the questions..! this time Its not Giggabyte I need help with. I'm making a character for my friend, and she wants her character to have a small sanity boost when killing things. not just monsters but even passive creatures like bunnies and birds. I have also copied the code directly from Wathgrithr's(?) .lua but Im not really sure exactly what bits did what I was wanting and/or what i didnt need to copy and I got lost. I thought about copying the code: inst:ListenForEvent("onattackother", function(inst, data) if data.target.prefab == "spider" then inst.components.sanity:DoDelta(TUNING.SANITY_TINY) end end) (from the third link) and just copying this for every creature in the game but that would take forever and would probably cause problems. Ive tried putting code in the masters_postinit spot, above that, under the line "local prefabs = FlattenTree(start_inv, true)" but nothing Im doing is working. I really just need to know what code I need and where I put it. any help is greatly appreciated! thank you in advance!!

  16. Hi! I'm making my first mod because i wanted to add a character i made in the game, i'm not really good at coding so i was wondering if someone could help me with a perk! Basically what i want my character to do is to give a sanity aura (Like a gloomer) to other players around, with a maximum of 2 players near my character (If there's 1 person near he will still give sanity aura) But when there are 3 or more players near my character, he will give an insanity aura instead I know that is it possible to make a character give sanity aura, but i'm not so sure if something this specific can be made Many thanks for the help!

    Link, of The Legend of Zelda fame. Link is a seasoned adventurer, and well equipped for whatever may come his way in the wilderness. His experience has jaded him to the point of sanity being a non-issue. He'll fight a king of nightmare-beasts before breakfast, and not even blink at it. He is used to living off what's available, and has developed a strong stomach. Compared to the average character, Link is faster, stronger, and tougher. However, he has a smaller stomach, and faster hunger rate - running around, and fighting like that burns off the calories much faster! Link is perhaps best played as a hunter - hunt, kill, and eat monsters to stay alive. Or, failing monsters… adorable, harmless little bunnies. You monster. Link brings a number of Hero's Items with him on his adventure. All Hero's Items are unbreakable, and uncraftable. So don't lose them! This has been broken and abandoned for quite some time, but I finally restored it to working order. RoG compatible, Shipwrecked will crash on World Generation sometimes, and always causes issues with the Coconade. It could probably be fixed with a rewrite of the Bomb code, but I think I just have to call it incompatible with Shipwrecked.

  19. So recently, I got back into relearning how to make custom characters using the extended character template. As a good friend of mine wanted me to make two for him. And all was going well until I went to test out my progress in game, only for it to turn up invisible. I searched for some answers and found the animation folder wasn't compiling after deleting it. I've looked through my folder and I can't seem to find the issue. So far I have only changed around the names and mod info and drew all the assets for the character. I'd be very thankful if anyone could help me out. I included a zip of the character folder. szuzu.zip
  20. im trying to make it where the item is only pick up by the character and no one else im also trying to make it where she can only make her crock pot recipe and no one else can make it but can eat it i look in to Lucy the axe but cant find anything that i understand that says only Woodie can use this or pick up and i also look in to Warly because i was told he has crock pot recipes that he can make but ever one else cant angel WIP.rar

So, if anyone knows, Would you be so kind to reply and answer these: How can I make the prototyping sanity gain smaller? How do I animate with Spriter? Is there a way I can make an event happen around my character? (Ex: My character is a set distance from something and one of his mechanics comes into play)

    Based off of Dragon Wolf Leo's Extended Sample Character Kodi for all (DLC)Stats: Health: 150 Hunger: 130 Sanity: 130 Damage increased by 10% Speed is 5% higher. The character has a custom voice. Creates a magic sword, deals 65 damage, slows the character when the sword is in the hands. Restores health at a rate of 5 units per hit, and lowers the sanity of -20 per minute. Kodi don't like night, at night the sanity decreases 10% faster. Has a passive health regeneration of 1 unit in 30 seconds. The transformation of the character is added, you can activate by pressing the button (G). When the character is in shadow form, he has increased speed, increased damage, increased food consumption. Transformation takes away (-15) sanity and (-15) hunger, but when you return to normal, it adds (+5) sanity.   23. Hello everybody, I need some help with modding my first character. I'm new to modding and I looked up some courses but now I have problems with the game's mechanics and the commands it uses. My character is supposed to swim and get bonuses when wet. I tried to look through WX's scripts with his lightning strike bonuses, but it didn't help at all, and I thought of using the hounds' swimming mechanics for the other part, will it break the game or something if I do?
  24. I'm making a custom Character, and trying to figure out how to code the perks I want him to have. They are; -Sanity gain around another custom Character -Night vision -Slowed hunger depletion -Starts with an Axe and a Shovel -Can't be put to sleep by mandrake based items -Speed boost If anyone could help me figure out the coding for this I would greatly appreciate it!
  25. it'd be awesome if i could let my character gain more sanity than average upon picking flowers! flowers give a +5 sanity boost. if i can double this to +10, that'd be perfect! i've looked around in a "making basic character perks" guide and have tried both "Erase/Increase/Decrease an existing sanity regen/damage on an item" on the prefab "flower", and also "Add a sanity aura heal/damage to an item/creature" to the prefab "flower", as well as "petals". none of these approaches have worked, so i'm wondering if anyone else out there has any idea how i can achieve this? ;3; tysm in advance!
