  3. Version 1.0

Improves the information shown in game crashes by displaying information about the entity that triggered it. Disclaimer: This mod is primarily meant for other modders. While its use is simple (since it simply needs to be enabled) and the information it presents might help tracking down the cause of bugs even in vanilla Don't Starve, the discussion below, explaining what the presented information means, assumes some level of familiarity with the inner workings of Don't Starve. Whenever a crash occurs, this mod will attempt to find the entity "responsible" for it and show a set of information about it, in order to help to track down the root cause of the issue. Scenarios where the entity is found include crashes triggered within prefab files, components, stategraphs and brains*. The following information about the entity is shown: Its number (its GUID) and its prefab name; Its variable name, within the function that triggered the crash (this may be an "indirect" variable name, such as self.inst); Whether the entity is valid; Whether the entity is in limbo (i.e., whether it was removed from the scene); Whether it's asleep (in the sense that it is not active); How long it's been alive (i.e., how long it has been since it was spawned, noting that reloading a save respawns all entities); Its position (as world coordinates); Its distance to the player. In the error screen, the entity information is presented on the right of the stack trace (hence dividing the usual text region into two columns). See the attached screenshot for an example (obtained by replicating this bug with the mod enabled). In the same example, the following is printed in log.txt: Note that, unfortunately, usage of this mod causes two "LUA ERROR stack traceback" blocks to be printed per error (the second being a "continuation" of the first). This happens because for the mod to work it needs to catch an error and then rethrow it. * The general condition is the following: the mod takes a look at the first parameter passed to the function that caused the crash (the "self" parameter, if any, counts as the first); if this parameter is an entity, this entity's information is displayed; otherwise, if this parameter is a table with an entity stored in its "inst" field, this entity's information is displayed. This convention is adopted because most (all?) function in the Don't Starve code that operate on an entity either receive that entity as its first argument, or receive a "self" first parameter which stores the entity in self.inst.
  4. Version 1.0

This is a music disc for the Jukebox mod that will let you enjoy the opening tune of Modest Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain". You'll need the Jukebox Mod to listen, however.
  5. Version 1.6.0

Back by my insistence, the Speech Modification Template! This file contains all you need to easily make speech file modifications on existing characters, or to make ones completely out of nothing for a custom character. Or even add or change quotes for Lucy or Pigmen! And now, it is fully updated both for the latest version of All's Well That's Maxwell, and the Reign of Giants "Feet of Strength" updates! I am merely continuing the work WrathOf started, but couldn't keep up with as he passed into inactivity. If he comes back one day and asks me to take this down, I will have to, i'm afraid. But until then, here you go. A nice little modder's tool. How to use: Download the proper file. If you're using the DLC, then you want version 1.6. Otherwise, stick with 1.5. Extract the zip file, then open the ExtraEnglish.lua file. Everything you need is there, all the generic describe quotes are alphabetized. Let me know if I missed anything important, or if there are some items missing from the template.

A while a go I made a lil' video of how I draw. In it, I drew a picture of Maxwell with make-up, and a pal of mine thought it would make a great mod. What it does: Maxwell (NPC and player) wears pink lipstick, purple eye-liner, and blush. My Better Maxwell mod is included free, so he'll look more like the NPC. Shadow Puppets are purple with big, lip-stick smiles and heavy blush. and some eye-liner. Maxwell's bigportrait also has make-up. Maxwell's menu quote, description, and title are changed.

It's a very simple mod revealing the entire map in the game, regardless of the level at which we find ourselves. Despite the simplicity makes it easy modding or just makes the game lot easier. Have a nice use. Steam version:

This is an OP version of the original Equivalent exchange, by Nudel. The credit all goes to him for his fantastic work! His mod was my favourite by far. What this mod does is adds a bigger variety of things to duplicate, which includes foods, which is severely OP. I prefer Nudels work to mine, but i just posted this for those who wanted it. Here is a list: Berries, Carrots, Corn, Dragonfruit, Durian, Eggplant, Fish, Frog Legs, Honey, Koalefant_summer, Koalefant_winter, Fleshy Bulb Meat, Mandrake, Meat, Monster Meat, Morsel, Pomegranate, Pumpkin, Spider Glands, Tall Bird Eggs, Deerclops Eyeball, Honey Poultice, Beard Hair, Butter, Butterfly Wings, Charcoal, Bird Eggs, Rotten Eggs, Guano, Gunpowder, Healing Salve, Heat Stone, Beefalo Horn, Lightbulb, Bunnyman Tail, Big Jerky, Monster Jerky, Small Jerky, Drumsticks, Batwings, The Three Coloured Mushrooms, Normal And Dark Petals, and so much more. You can edit this in the modmain, you can also add items from other mods to the list, and give them a value. Enjoy! REMEMBER: This is NOT my mod, all credit goes to Nudel, the original creator. I just created this mod for people who struggle with this game, as it makes it a lot easier. :
  11. Version 1.1

Based on this thread, I decided to write a version of require() for mods. The use() function works just like require(), but looks for files taking the (root) mod directory as a base and runs them inside the mod environment. Feel free to just drop use.lua into your mods. Below is some documentation on its behaviour, and I attached a simple sample mod ("usage") to show how to use it in practice. Basic usage: Advanced usage: Why "use" and not "modrequire"?

Introduction This is a mod i did as sort of a request from ortorin, he wanted a weapon that was somewhere between the dark sword and the tentacle spike in damage, and sanity loss, and we came up with, the Shadow Spike! here's the rest of the information, enjoy! Stats 58 Damage 100 Durability Small Sanity Loss (Sanity drain from standing near a dark flower) Crafting Recipe 2 Twigs 2 Nightmare fuel 3 Hounds teeth Prestihatitator Credits - Coder and Artist - Blazingice26 Idea - Ortorin
  14. Version 1.0

This mod adds a new item to the game, the friendship wand! whenever you strike a foe with it, they will obey any command (or, yknow just follow you around and kill stuff for you) you give them! Recipe - Friendship Wand 1 Blue gem 1 Yellow gem 5 Nightmare fuel 3 Living logs Turns any creature you attack into a follower (There are a few exceptions like boss monsters and things) Known Bugs - Attacking a beehive with the wand crashes the game (I assume this is the same with spiderdens, houndmounds etc.) Credits- Compatibility - Known not to work with the waverly mod, because they both use the "wand" prefab

Webber- Currently has 150 health 150 sanity 250 hunger One custom string(expect more soon) Spawns with spiderhat Spider brothers don't aggro on him unless they see him take his mother's head off his shoulders. Night vision+grueproofing-note:may ruin your cave experience. Carnivorous dieting-can eat monster meat I have currently discontinued this mod, partly because there is now a Webber character in the Don't Starve RoG DLC.
  16. Version 2.0

Sample mod showing how to add a custom tech branch. In this example, the fire pit is used as the prototyper for a recipe of rocks (in the Magic tab). Due to a game change made to have recipes not requiring a prototyping structure cease to be prototypable (see this), unfortunately it was necessary to override the method Builder:KnowsRecipe() from the Builder component. More generally, the hardcoded logic in the Builder component prevented this implementation from being as clean and simple as I'd like. It is functional, nevertheless. Thanks to Heavenfall for originally looking into this.

I always found it a pain to get and fuel the old lantern. I've only ever had the lucky cave with tons of light bulbs right at the entrance once, really. It all depends on the map you get. This Brass lantern can be obtained without traveling to those confusing caves, and can even be a great way TO explore caves! It uses burnable items as fuel, emits slightly less light, and burns through fuel twice as fast as the normal lantern. I'll also probably fix up the textures sometime soon. Like today. In the next few minutes, possibly. If you're wondering, the character(s) in the screenshots are of my character and deceased cat. Still need to do new textures for my character at some point. Anyways...(ahem) hope you enjoy the mod!

This is my first mod so be kind. Lets you catch Pengulls, Slurtles and Snurtles with the basic traps! Tested and working on all the above. Keep in mind Pengulls only have a 10% loot drop chance, even with this mod. These mobs can be set back down, they must be murdered in the inventory to receive their drop. (Just like rabbits) May make changes to the mod later for added features. The above are now stackable to 10! I fixed a glitch/error where you could just run and pick them up. Thanks to these amazing modders for helping me out! Malacath seronis debugman18 simplex
