  1. I used the Chinese dude's (sorry can't pronounce the name) method of using a feedback loop and a cool chamber to re-cool contaminated oxygen to get liquid oxygen and it seems solid carbon dioxide. Interestingly I ended up with an infinite drop of solid oxygen EVEN WITH THE SYSTEM SWITCHED OFF!, I think someone else has reported this bug before, this is not why I am posting. I did feel it was a really handy exploit though. Unlike other playthroughs I've seen allowing contaminated oxygen all around their base, I've opted for the all destruction dupes and purify the air as much as possible. I have 2 giant battery steam farms that produce steam as well as contaminated oxygen and I have a series of filters that moves the chlorine into the morb farm, the steam into the water tank, the clean oxygen into a separate cooler to go to the plants and the contaminated oxygen goes to the liquifier. Nevertheless I've got a giant lump of clean pure frozen solid oxygen weighing in at just shy of 4 tons. The problem is the solid oxygen won't turn back into liquid even though I dug it out of the machine and landed it on the the roasting hot air conditioner. I apologise in advance if this post sounds similar to my earlier bug report of "liquid oxygen won't evaporate", however I feel this is a separate bug and worth reporting. Please find enclosed a copy of the save file. SolidOxygenBug.sav
  2. Well I don't know what to say, I loaded up the autosave from cycle 141 where the liquid oxygen was there and now its GONE. I'm not lying the screenshot proves there was an actual bug and was worth reporting. Anyway I've spent all the coal in the first save, I don't know if u can hack the save to give me more coal and I can run the experiment again? Or you can load back from cycle 90 on liquidoxbuild.sav finish the build, pump the air out switch off the pump then turn on the super cryogenic cooler and see what happens. I've provided both so you can have a look. Do you have a screenshot of liquid oxygen evaporating? Just a thought.... Oxygen gas only has a liquification point, liquid oxygen seems to also have a solidification point, I seem to have reached the solid temperature and not the liquid temperature, I think this might be the problem if you cool something down so much it solidifies it doesn't know what to do. You should have oxygen gas have both condensation and solidification point. Any news as to why you can't liquify contaminated oxygen? Also one last thing: I miscounted, I had 18 coolers not 16 coolers, sorry my bad. Thanks for getting back to me. herewego Cycle 141.sav liquidoxbuild.sav
  3. I've noticed that too, but I also know a get around if I may. Set the priority of the coal power stations to 9 have like 6 chests nearby set to store consumable ore only and have them set to 9, anything else you want done NOW only ever set priority 8 or else the dupes will do the priority 9 stuff before they refill the coal furnace. It runs out of coal fast and needs a lot of refilling and its handy to have an abundance of ore nearby. Hope that helps
  4. First and foremost, can I give a big shout out to the guys at Klei Entertainment, I played a lot of hours on your previous game "Don't Starve" and I'm thoroughly impressed with your latest creation despite all the bugs. Secondly I was trying to do a playthrough that didn't involve using sand to filter water so naturally I used contaminated water to make 2xh2 and o2 to save my clean drinking water supply and just used the sand early on in the air filters. I'm sure many have alread figured out that sand can ONLY be found in the initial biome and once that resource is depleted there's no other remedy. I was looking for an alterative method of purifying water and also purifying contaminated oxygen after the sand runs out. I read somewhere on one of the forums you could turn dirty water into clean water using the heat from the batteries and I gave it a shot, 5x5 of the big batteries double insulated with the air mesh in between each battery, but the results weren't amazing. a layer of hot water floated on a layer of hot contaminated water and steam would appear briefly then go back to water again despite being 130 degrees, well above the threshold to be classed as steam. You kinda need to use the liquid filter because the steam only stays steam for one tile then goes back to water again. This then gave me an idea which nobody else I think except you devs attempted which was to try and get rid of contaminated oxygen through the process of cryogenics. I pumped air into a daisy chain of 16 thermal couplers and I reahed -221.66 degrees C!!!! I build a double double walled freezer chamber to capture the liquid oxygen but as you can see I spent about 20 tons of coal to produce 31.8g of liquid oxygen. Enormous amounts of power consumed in an attempt to purify such a small amount. The problem is that the liquid oxygen doesn't re-evaporate into clean gaseous oxygen. Also I found the pump the other end was just storing bottled contaminated oxygen. I was kind of hoping I could liquify both and the contaminant had a different liquid/gas temperature than the other. I think pumps storing bottled contaminated oxygen is also a bug on the air filters if you deconstruct them halfway through. I think you guys need to work on this bug, you need a hysteresis function whereby fluids and gases must remain at a certain temperature until a heat threshold has been overcome then it can change from gas to fluid and vice versa. The game's thermodynamics clearly understands the difference between heat and temperature already. Great game so far though! Great Artwork, playing with gases has never been so much fun!
