  1. You know there's this sort of thing you simply can't resist to check after an update, if it works you're all , if not And well I just had one of these today : I wasn't just trying to trap them to help during the event, even tho if that would be some sort of emergency saver (and yes I got event on the Moon Island if anyone is wondering if it's possible)... but wanted to check if we could capture them. Please, these birds are legit way too cool, lemme have those in the Bird Cage even if feeding them is a thing or not... actually I can imagine non-starving bird or mutant eggs but it's super optional to me, I mostly just want those birds at home

I completely get that we're supposed to build the machine on the Mysterious Energy and all but as far I know, there is no way to move the altars once this is activated (using Hammer doesn't work anymore, it hurts you), yet this was my first attempt so I completely ignored that : So yeah basically it is completely stuck, that would be nice if the machine has uncaring of blockers cause it might just happen for players that got some similar placements.

Ok so just wanted to apologies about the recent meme if it was too borderline @JoeW, I expected it to go smoothly and was mostly convinced some people would either not see anything sus or just get a little chuckle without dropping context, but I can totally understand it wasn't my smartest shot here. My bad.

  6. Have you even considered that you do it the wrong way maybe ? If you haven't survived to winter yet it's probably because you simply explore too much or look for the wrong elements, simply find a location matching your needs, you will change your requirements later as you gain with experience : is there easy food ? what are the accessible resources around ? if I need anything, how far I have to go for it ? That is basically what a beginner should care about so far. I myself just look for a nice location I know about (because all worlds share the same basic biome set, but with a bunch of optional ones so you don't get too many variation from one to another), and if I know it'll be nice by looking around, well let's just base here, so I don't waste all my autumn just exploring and prepare better for what's next, plus if you play multiplayer maybe someone gets the time to do a lot of exploration early instead of exploring too much yourself and accomplishing very little outside of discovering world. Try that, might just be the change you need.

  9. I remind having that map bug quite often and the first steps aren't required sometimes, it happened that I just get that on a new created world without cave or death antecedents.
  10. I got some game crash at some point when I was walking around with a Beefalo Bell under my cursor and wasn't sure what happened exactly, so I looked and it seems to be whenever I hover some entities, just like underground moles :

  12. Ha, so that's why cave entrances were so... quiet. I barely noticed.

This just cannot be fair for everyone sadly while I wish it was, but because there is no drop enabled on someone's channel doesn't necessarily have to put an end to someone streaming career or just for that game if you, your family and loyal viewers enjoy that content. Plus, if you look at what @JoeW have just said, maybe it means you'll get back in the list for another time so don't loose hope.
  14. Think I should show it there too, so it's finally here, Cherry Trees have been upgraded after 4 years of being quite unfitting in the game art style, it's now much dapper and pleasing to come across them !

    We worked on that for a bunch of time now with @Notecja on assets and Claire as always for sketching to make the tree season interactive, kinda like deciduous trees but some seasons even have multiple stages. :)

      The new designs have a natural look to them. The flower petals have a paper-fan like quality.

      IMO evergreens looks really ugly in this biome. I never used your mod but as I see from winter and spring pics, it looks out of style.

      I'm looking to do some worldgen improvements before the 1.6 update so I'll keep that in mind, just need to make the biome background filled with enough natural structures and not just spamming one type of tree. :)

You have option to disable the shaders they have so it's okay, and I don't remind having a clearly noticeable FPS drop even on locations with tons of shaders on like gold nuggets after mass trading with Pig King, looks like it's fairly harmless. But on topic, yeah, the more option we have the better.

Thing is, the Celestial Altars are directly pumping the fuel from the moon ground to put it into objects (moon shard), unlike Nightmare fuel as the ruin altars aren't plug to anything apparently and so players have to insert the fuel manually within the objects (thulecite, gems) to get it to work. So gathering the moon juice would not do a lot of changes. Well, that's how I picture it at least.
  17. I drop this out of nowhere but, hey, wouldn't this be some sort of portal to a new world, and more precisely, to the moon ? The Celestial Orb (which I believe is not a random decision, the moon is a sphere too) is inside of it, over a pad that quite seems to be pushing some energy toward the orb, which is itself surrounded by an aura, so maybe to suggest there's an atmosphere around and not just empty space. I don't immediately see other things you could do with a pad but step on it and see what happen. I would not be surprised if we also have to carry the mysterious energy at the center to activate it btw. So are we getting a new world ? That sound like a possibility to me but feel free to comment on your other speculations about that... thing.

I just make sure my ruins will be as big as they can from edited world gen, there's mods to do it so I would recommand you to not try risky gambles with default ruins generation or worldgen in general especially if you plan to play for a long time, better to have near all the odds on your side so you can have fun. Since I've been doing that I never got bad ruins, well except that one time they were completely empty but that's another story (and yet I don't think this bug is fixed cause I got something similar with archives recently)

I sadly have no sympathy for the fighter type when it comes to characters like Wigfrid and Wolfgang, I'm not interested into bigger damages or armor, what would actually interest me is characters that have unique fight moves, that's what I wished Klei would dig in for Wigfrid rework. I'd be interested into somebody like Walter that can use a Slingshot more than someone that hits harder or tank more with sanity interactions in-between because characters build only around stat-affecting perks (hello, Wolfgang) are bland imo.
