I posted on another thread about this issue and I think rolling back may have been a factor to my map getting reset. We rolled back inside the caves so frequently I didn't think about if it affected the map or not.

I've been playing on a friend's server, we're nearing day 800 and the pengulls used to spawn but we haven't seen them in a long time.

My cave map also reset after going back into the cave.

So I've been playing in my friend's server for awhile now and we've noticed that for the past 2 winters the pengulls haven't appeared.

I've encountered the same problem with my friend's world, we're over 500 days in and I had the entire surface world explored but after exiting the caves my map was reset.

I've tried again on a different server and was able to enter the caves. I think the other time was an isolated incident.

I still can't enter the caves, every time I try this message will pop up: Server not available. The server you were playing on is currently unavailable. Please try again later. And then it will kick me back to the main menu. The game stopped crashing when attempting to rejoin a game though.
