    I found an old character I made a while ago that represents the entirety of the idea of creating a character and the process of giving life and character to that being.

    I don't know why but I love distortions and artifacting due to the limitations and setbacks of the medium the work is in. Radio mechanical noise, slight feedback, slightly weathered film, VHS artifacting, dust and scratches on records, the like.

      I think it's because it reminds me of the flaws of creations.

      I think I might also like them - if there's clean parts to contrast with. When the entire track is distorted, it just sounds like low quality and not an actual style (or whatever the musicological word is). A lot of FNAF fan songs do this right, spooky scary skeletons does too.

      I find  that distortions like that (when used outside of a spoopy medium) add a little bit of personality to the work in question. It reminds the viewer/listener that what they are seeing was made by somebody just like them, a person with flaws and imperfections.
