  1. @Zeklo Looks like your theories about the "moon" may finally come to fruition
  2. My bet is on Maxwell, both for gameplay and lore reasons. Precedent also says Maxwell is always last to get his character powers updated.
  3. Agreed. Crafting multiple bernies is already quite expensive an investment due to the beard hair involved.
  4. Interesting Willow Strats?

Alright, that's a much better number than the one I got in testing, before the hotfix. Glad to hear Willow has her excellent sanity control back.
  5. Interesting Willow Strats?

I'm not sure if this was always the case, but certain mobs lit on fire are incapable of attacking. However, they will panic, making it hard to hit them. Willow can take advantage of this panicked state to land multiple successive hits without being counterattacked. Bosses (including treeguards) are immune to this, sadly. The "blasting off" tactic from single player DS is now executable, sort of. Rope is better than grass, since you'll need to use the flingo after all the dropped items catch fire. You also need a client mod to drop all the items in one place. I don't think it's very viable though and I have no idea how the lag affects other players. I'm very thankful that Klei gave willow some natural heat insulation, actually. It really lets her take advantage of fire immunity for extended periods, which would have been impossible if she overheated quickly.
  6. Remember that the piggyback cannot burn, or be soaked in rain. You can leave it on the ground to serve as a discount scaled chest. Four pig skin is a little expensive, though.
  7. Have you killed this boss?

For some reason, I've never seen the no-eyed deer spawn. Also never sought out to collect skeleton pieces. not that I would fight klaus even if they did heheheh
  8. wilson - plague doctor winona - arbalest wicker - vestal (books!) maxwell - occultist woodie - abomination wes - jester
  9. I agree it ought to have a downside, and I was very much hyped when I saw the poster for diseases and first read a little about them. But what's illogical is how it's currently thwarted by just digging and replanting crops every 20 or so days. This doesn't make sense to me. If the plant could contract a disease while it was planted, then why does digging it up and placing it in the exact same spot make any difference? If replanting resources at all is the thing to be punished and avoided, then I might as well just live in the desert and farm tumbleweeds instead.
  10. On Set Pieces

This might be the case today(?) but I distinctly remember them existing in past versions of DST. The absolute paranoia, agony, and finally morbid acceptance witnessed in the game chat when someone opens that odd ice box in the desert is a truly sight to behold.
  11. If disease actually served some game function, if it was combatable in some logical way like crafting pesticides (that would come perhaps with their own drawbacks), if it didn't mean just counting days and replanting crops which is just busywork and cannot be made faster or more efficient, then I would leave it on. I guess it serves to make Berries a little less useful, which is a needed nerf. But currently disease is just illogical. What really baffles me is that it doesn't affect plants that aren't loaded by a nearby player. I thought the whole point of disease was to add to the deterioration of uninhabited camps in larger servers? No?
  12. and add Warly as a playable character with special crock pots that cook faster
  13. Since the werebeaver has the same kind of hunchback look as pigs, I'd like to see some ported animations that already exist from those mobs, like: - pigman happy dance - bunnyman happy clap - angry face/growl - scared face (pigs around a fire at dusk) - hungry gesture
  14. 45 dedicated servers?? This guy might as well be mining bitcoin with that kind of power, holy smokes.
  15. This would actually be a huge nerf to Wendy currently (was that your intention?), because by stocking up on multiple flowers, she can summon abigail immediately after the ghost dies. Crafting multiple flowers also allows Wendy to create a very strong in/sanity farm using tightly packed evil flowers.
  16. when will klei let us stack logs to 40
  17. The Oasis exists chiefly to get goggles, which really only exist for people living in the oasis... Sandstorms are not a fun mechanic, especially since there's so much RNG involved in acquiring goggles. Antlion is certainly an interesting boss, but it doesn't provide very useful loot. Summer definitely needs more to it to make it worthwhile. As it stands currently, wildfires are just an annoying mechanic that players will probably circumvent anyway with sandstorms/flingos/cave bases, which leads to pretty boring gameplay as it punishes leaving the base. In winter, resources can still be collected outside the base, giving a sort of risk/reward for travelling beyond the fire pit. Resources in summer wilt, and cannot be collected when away from the base. Instead, those planted at your base will continue to grow with flingos. All of this is very boring. Summer absolutely needs some kind of risk/reward event that draws players outside of their bases, onto the world's surface, to collect some awesome loot. And no, desert stones are not awesome loot. We could have unique summer spawns to collect rare or exclusive resources (say, like a clockwork militia, or a hunting party of merms (think boy scouts) that drop special uncraftable gear that provides sandstorm protection, heat insulation, sanity auras, speed buffs etc.) I do really like the idea of seasons becoming harsher during the second year. This needs to either translate to the caves somehow as well or provide another risk/reward so that players actually have an incentive to live on the surface and experience the new, harsher season. sort of related but I really want to see mosquito swarms in the summer. In winter year 2 pengulls could become hostile, making the collection of ice less than a boon.
  18. wilson rework?

I'm in favor of special healing items and tonics, already Wilson adds great sustain to the team via Meat Effigies and his skins (e.g. victorian) seem to imply this "doctor" idea. It would also be nice to have a team healer that can sort of substitute for the DLC character's insane healing abilities.
  19. Rework order

Willow was heavily requested. Woodie has also been heavily requested, but I seriously hope Klei will focus rather on characters that are very boring or bland, like Wilson, Wes, or to a lesser degree Wendy and WX.
  20. First time basing in the oasis. It's kind of far away from the rest of the world, so cobblestones really help. Woodie is amazing as usual.
  21. Hound attacks in a sandstorm. To elaborate, there isn't always enough time to travel from fishing at the oasis to the edge of the desert where hounds can actually be kited. Even with a walking cane, the sandstorm slows the player enough that attacks from hounds cannot be dodged at all. You get stunlocked fast.
  22. Wendy is pretty basic as far as the DST characters go, she gets a unique summon but only one at a time and has no real team presence beyond killing hounds and spiders for meat. I hope they give her some entirely new toy to play with, in addition to better player control of abigail.
  23. On Ranged Weapons

    In the trash
  24. 1. Woodie, because he has arguably the most unique mechanics in the game and requires a lot of thought and planning to play. He's a more robust and complicated Maxwell. The extra health really makes a difference in my experience. 2. Maxwell, great examine quotes and is a harvester like Woodie so less time spent doing chores which is always nice. 3. Willow, because I like her examine quotes/personality 4. Wicker, because tentacles 5. Wendy, because abigail makes hounds/spiders a cakewalk 6. Wilson, has some epic skins 7. Wes same as above 8. WX, I don't play him much because I like a challenge, but his examine quotes are in a league of their own 9. Winona, haven't played much of her but fast craft seems like a godsend, seriously, that perk would really get you out of tight situations (e.g. making a torch/fire while getting chased by hounds) 10. Wolfgang, haven't played much of him 11. Webber, because I value pigs too much and Webber players in public servers are typically jerks/griefers 12. Wigfrid, because I value mushrooms too much and Wigfrid players in public servers are typically thieves or just bad at the game 13. Wortox, because playing him makes you a furry and no, this is not up for debate.
