  1. its dead?! Oh noes! I'm sorry for your loss...We must take the body to the hospital and revive it!
  2. put them near a fire. If they sweat, move them away, if they shiver, put them closer. Soon enough you shall have a FUZZY BIRD!!!!!
  3. Well, here's me, working on my Game writing with some don't starve fan art.The Black Chronicles Of Maxwell's ArchipelagoCHAPTER 1The Wizard's apprentice half-heartedly drew a summoning circle onto the cobblestone of the highest tower on the castle. Five mourning stars, A demon's sun in the middle. It had all been done before... But most of the ones who had tried had actually managed to conjure something. The wizards apprentice lit his candle and placed it in the center. He knew nothing would happen. As he entered the circle, he spoke a couple words. He threw an urn down, and a small flash of light burst from the center. This was exciting, he had never done that before. "It doesn't have to be this way, Rook." A voice sounded from behind the apprentice. The apprentice whirled around. A tall man with a hitler-style haircut, an extremely dapper vest, and a cheery smile walked out of the shadows behind the apprentice. "How do you know my name? Are you a demon?" the apprentice said, his voice trembling with am odd mix of fear and excitement. "I prefer not to be called by a 'demon', it brings back to much malice from the times of the Egyptians." the dapper man said, an edge to his voice. His smile hardened a bit. He blinked, and it turned back into the normal cheery grin. "W-why are you here?" asked Rook, the apprentice. The man's grin widened. "Because, I was imprisoned in that urn you smashed. You freed me. Now I will grant your wishes." "G-grant my wishes?" Rook's eyes widened, "What do you mean?" Maxwell extended an arm to the borders set by the summoning circle, where arcane energies prevented his long arm from moving forward anymore. "You want power. Power in magic. You want spells to work. You want things to do what you want them to. Step out of the circle and all this will become true..."CHAPTER 2The dapper demon stood in front of me, his arms outstretched, about to give me all I had ever wanted. All I had to do was leave the summoning circle... All I had to do... I stepped out of the circle. Nothing happened. The dapper demon smiled, and waved his hand. Knowledge shot into my head like an arrow. It swirled through my mind. Designs for staffs controlling ice and fire, music to soothe the savage beast, resurrection devices that would make me immortal. All of it was mine. It was all here. "What is your name?" I asked the demon. "Maxwell. Maxwell the Black." He said with a grin. My mind smacked me in the face. The name was familiar. I realized he had said he was imprisoned. That would mean he had been imprisoned for a reason... He lifted his hands, and a blast of lightning flew towards me. The last thing I heard him say before I knocked out of consciousness by an electric bolt was "I only kidnap people who's name starts with R." and a gale of hideous laughter...CHAPTER 3Rook stood up. The Demon looked surprised. "I needed to hit you harder. I underestimated you, mage." he said.Rook nodded groggily. He searched his head for some sort of Maxwell slaying spell, but none came to him. "Now then, I guess since you're awake, I'll give you a briefing on what I'm doing..."Rook looked around. He was on an island of some sort, in a grassland. "I love playing games. The Greeks were perfect for playing games with. We played so many..."Rook grabbed some grass and twigs. "Right now I feel like chess. Chess is a game of the mind."Rook twisted the grass and the twigs together desperately. "It's all about manipulating your opponent so that they are vulnerable."Rook smiled at the irony of that statement, and attached a piece of flint to his stick-grass braid. "And you seemed like a worthy opponent." He grinned. Rook grinned back, and swung the staff he had just created at Maxwell. A blast of yellow magic flew at the ground in front of the demon. Maxwell looked surprised. The magic hit the ground, and out sprouted.. a flower. Rook looked confused, and Maxwell grinned. "Almost got me, Rook! You'll need a bit more power for that." With that statement, Maxwell swung his fist into Rook's face, and Rook blacked out again.CHAPTER 3"Say pal, you don't look so good. Better find something to eat before night comes." Maxwell laughed, snapped his fingers, and disappeared. I felt like an idiot, yet I didn't feel sad. My life's dream had just come true. I was a wizard. A true wizard, with flower conjuring staffs and words of power. I had been tricked by a demon and was now playing chess with him, but still... I had power. Maxwell's words rung in my ears. "Better find something to eat before night comes." And I noticed all the food in this place. Carrots. I loved carrots. Berries grew on trees, Rabbits just waited to be trapped... My mind whirled with possibilities. I wandered for the remainder of the day. Soon I realized night was falling. I didn't like the dark, so I gathered materials for a torch, just so I could investigate spooky noises. The moon rose. Night was upon me. I heard Maxwell's laugh in the distance. "Meet my queen" he said. I stumbled in the darkness, trying to find his voice. Something breathed on the back of my neck. I spun around, lighting my torch. All I saw was a reptilian tail spin out of the radius of light provided by my torch. "Her name is Charlie." Maxwell laughed manically, far away from where I was. I could see a pair of hateful eyes watching me in the darkness. Now I knew better than to go out at night without a light...
  4. totally agree. Game needs more bosses with individual weak point kinda things. I think that some of the bosses need to be smarter. For instance, one might wait till night then dart into your light radius, attack, and run out. Another could stalk you while hiding behind trees, such and such and so and so. I prefer smart enemies :)When I say weak point things I mean like in LoZ where the bosses need individual strategies to beat, like a flying enemy that lands and attacks the ground where you were, but then gives you 3-5 sec to attack it, then flies away and repeats. Something of the sort, makes bosses more interesting
  5. Very nice, like very much! I would like to see Maxwell and Wolfgang arm wrestling, if you're taking requests
  6. Hopefully I quoted right :\ YES I CAN THUMBS UP! I feel special
  7. nice ideas :DI like the stages, much like a real beehive. I think, possibly, we need hive beetles.
  8. meh.. my writing styles a bit drab, I just realized.... and I need to keep in character
  9. I like the ghost circus idea Trading would be neat, some sort of reverse pig king where you trade gold for things
  10. thought that the other character journals were cool. I'm just gonna post every 20 min or so of gameplay, hope this is fun.Day 1 My eyes opened to find myself lying in a grassy patch surrounded by forest. Maxwell stood there. He's so condescending... Sheesh. I really hate that guy, and now he'd really done it by sticking me onto one of his own personal realms of torture. He should probably be burned at the stake. All he did is wink, and said, being captain obvious "Say pal, you don't look so good. better find something to eat before night comes!". I groaned, and dragged myself off of the ground, thinking to break his jaw with my fist, but he snapped his fingers and disappeared with a puff of smoke. Ugg, that stuck me on a deserted island with no food, no friends, and a box full of matches in my pocket. I didn't even have my old teddy bear Alfred to keep my company. I thought about crying, but Maxwell's words ring in my ears. "Better find something to eat before night comes". I walked through some forest, and pop out into a grassland. Tall grass grew out of the ground, and some saplings and flint littered the area. I grabbed some sticks and grass, thinking I should make a torch for the night. Maxwell had told me about a few things in the realm he had prepared for me, such as his pet charlie who would love to take a bite out of me. I could probably scare him away with one of the matches in my pocket, but I really don't want to be stuck out at night. That's not good for your sanity... Just thought about that. In case I wasn't carrying enough, I fashioned an axe out of the materials on the ground and start hacking at a tree. The trunk wasn't too thick so I chopped through pretty quickly, wishing I had a chainsaw, and Alfred. I decided to stick by some sort of food source if I wanted to survive, possibly a cattle of some sort. To do that would take a bit of exploring, but would be worth it if it saved my life, so i grabbed some carrots and berries and marched into the woods again. I passed a small patch of savanna before running into a road. That's right, a paved road. Thinking about human life I ran north. Past a swamp, where I gathered some reeds and ran into some giant scary not-very easily burned tentacles, and into a village with absurdly small houses. Pig people walked about. That's right, pig people. I sighed. These where something Maxwell had told me about. At least I could have some company. I walked back onto the road, as night was starting to fall, looking for a good base camp. After about a five minute walk, I passed one of the savanna patches I had crossed getting to the pig village. There, around ten huge cow-buffalo type animals grazed. I'm embarrassed to say my mouth watered a little. It was then I realized i hadn't eaten all day. I shoved some berries into my mouth... Mmmmmm.... I grabbed my torch, as the sun set completely, and headed south. Day 2 Another pig village waited there, and in the center lay a bone with an eye on top. I picked it up, puzzled. I heard a boingy-boingy-boingy sound and looked up. A chest-shaped dog... thing.... Ran towards me, with a dog tag tied to it's neck saying "Otto Von Chesterfeild. If lost, return to grace of Warden." I laughed at the description. No way was I going to return my first pet to some dead guys grave. I stroked his horns for a little bit and headed back to the savanna.Day 3 That's where I am now, setting up a base camp. I need to get some sort of camp fire going for the long cold nights in Maxwell's realm, but other than that I'm good. I've put together some sort of science-y workbench research station that allows me to put together things to make better things. I'll be writing this journal on the papyrus that I've turned into a journal. It's nighttime now and I'll be working on it as I listen to the "beefalo"-what I've decided to call the buffalo made of beef- snore. I'm not all that great at writing, and I have no eraser here-all I'm using to write is some charcoal, mashed berries, and a twig- but hopefully I get off this island and can sell copies of this journal to become rich, though that's a little far off into the future. I shall be writing again soon, maybe even with some pictures.OK! next day done!Day 4I spent the day gathering sticks, mining rocks and picking grass. I managed to gather flint and some more carrots and berries. Midway through the day, it started raining. Most of the time I hate rain, it's a pain to light fires in, but this one was a thunderstorm. Lightning hit multiple saplings causing them to burst into glorious flame! I haven't been this happy since... yesterday when I found Chester, his fluffiness. I found that he would follow me when I carried his bone, and also, that he would store my stuff in his mouth! I'm feeling pretty confident that I'll survive longer than Maxwell thought I would. Tonight I've put together some walls and made a pitchfork to move the grass out of the way around my camp. I have a cozy little base now!Day 5I've fell into a sort of routine. Wake up, grab sticks, grab flint, grab grass, cut down tree, pick berries. It's calming, I feel a lot more sane than earlier, when i swear I was seeing eyes in the dark. Today, I ventured a different direction. Cutting down a tree, I realized something. The grass I picked four days ago had regrown. The trees grew from small to medium to large in a matter of days not weeks. Time seems to work differently here.. It's disconcerting. As I ventured further west, I saw a large flammable nest. I was tempted to go light it on fire when a very very tall bird walked into my sight, looking hostile. I decided to run. As i write this, I'm putting together a sort of "log suit" for protection against angry birds, and building more walls.Day 6Today I ran out of grass. I ventured further into the savanna and grabbed grass as I went along. I ran into a giant ebbed nest. Curious, i approached it. A giant spider the size of my head popped out. I smashed it's head in with my pitchfork. Monster meat for dinner... bleck. I prefer gobbler.Day 7Almost completed my walls!
  11. O_O this is awesome... I want ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Lol I need to tweak the color and shading a bit and mess around with some stuff.
  13. Get your wish! my friend drew up a quick (and innacurate) full body WX-78.
  14. Thanks! the eyes got a little messed up with the scanner, and I was just lazy and covered them up with the pencil tool:fatigue:, hopefully next time I come up with a better way to fix that. I'll have to get my friend to draw some more, hopefully some more interesting than just quick drawings of the character's faces.
  15. I also get the idea I'm doing something wrong cus these images are taking forever to load... I'm not sure if it's just my bad interenets or cus i uploaded them wrong.
  16. Well, I recently got don't starve, and I really like the ability to create fan-art/fiction for it. My friend Pka has been drawing a ton of manga/anime/I really don't know what he calls it anymore... So he sketched out some don't starve character portraits and I scanned and colored them. The latest doodle. I didn't spend as much time on it as I did the other ones... I'm a bit lazy... At least Pka didn't slack off on drawing it.Second try at coloring in don't starve characters. I spent maybe 20-30 minutes coloring and tweaking, turned out pretty good looking. And Pka didn't try to do anything weird with the drawing....First try, pretty decent. There's something wrong with the eyes, and I need to do some anti-aliasing.Ok, if anyone knows good tips for using photoshop to color things in please tell me, I get the feeling I'm not doing it right.Later artwork so you don't have to go through all the stuff to find it.
