  1. Well, I got this giant tree dude after me (slowly). I've got my log suit on and tried two time (once with spear and once with axe) to kill him and he just makes mince-meat out of me.What's it take to bring him down?
  2. Generally seems like a bad idea to have Chrome be your main Don't Starve platform.
  3. I've tried this both on a 64bit W7 machine and a 32bit W8 machine and it crashes on my save game: (it may be that it's a pre-insanity save, so I'll try it on a new game) UPDATE: Save Editor works fine on new game save. (Thank you!). Old saves are hinky: Can't edit them and they're the saves that make for the jerky lag that people are seeing. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.Exception: Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown. at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.JsonArray.Process() at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.JsonArray.Process() at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.JsonArray.Process() at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.JsonArray.Process() at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.Form1.LoadPlayerInfo() at Dont_Starve_Savegame_Editor.Form1.menu_open_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.RaiseEvent(Object key, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEventInteractive(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEvent(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: Win32 Version: 4.0.30319.17929 built by: FX45RTMREL CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v4.0.30319/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- Dont Starve Savegame Editor Assembly Version: Win32 Version: CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Steam/userdata/10389473/Don't%20Starve%20Save%20Editor/Dont%20Starve%20Save%20Editor.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: Win32 Version: 4.0.30319.17929 built by: FX45RTMREL CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: Win32 Version: 4.0.30319.17929 built by: FX45RTMREL CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: Win32 Version: 4.0.30319.17929 built by: FX45RTMREL CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- Ionic.Zlib Assembly Version: Win32 Version: CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Steam/userdata/10389473/Don't%20Starve%20Save%20Editor/Ionic.Zlib.DLL ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. 4. This is an ongoing debate (at least for me). I bought it on Steam but foresee wanting to play it on occasion in Chrome and later on the PC version when it's released. I'm looking at having to buy three versions of the game to do this.
  5. Not looking to 'separate'. That's the whole point. If they set up a verification server (as an example), they could tell you bought the game and off you go.
  6. Wondering if the Devs might address being able to reuse your game key (Steam in this case) in Chrome an later in the PC version. (If you had a way to verify you where the original purchaser)This will come up as you get more users who want to play, let's say, at home and at work (during lunch of course!).Right now, I'm sitting on the Chrome screen for Account Information and there's a button that says "Get Steam Key". Doesn't do anything because I don't have Steam on this PC, but wondering...
  7. Day 33 here with massive searching and NO Beefaloes anywhere...
  8. Wondering about this myself. I've bought the Steam version and would like to also play (on a different PC) in Chrome. But I have to buy another version of the game to do this. Having to also buy a PC version of the game to play outside of Steam would make THREE purchases of the game.Minecraft, by contrast, has a login server, so you can play anywhere, any time with your single purchased key, but I guess with Don't Starve, it's considered a different game platform for each version, so you're stuck buying several versions of the game.
  9. I bought the game through Steam and wish to also play in Chrome but it won't take my key. Please don't tell me I have to buy the game twice!Should perhaps be a verification question so you can use both.
  10. A lot of people's gripe is that it's made it a completely different game now. Not one they'd 'bought' into. Cripes, I've planned my entire day around jumping through wormholes and pushing the edges of night. Now, those are things to avoid.
  11. I think the roads went a little too squiggly. Kind of a pain in the arse, now, to 'run' across a map. The roads look like paint that's been stirred with a stick. I'm probably the only one that liked the roads nice and straight.
  12. I haven't tried multiple saves yet, but the old saves still copy and load over the 219740 directory and load just fine.
  13. Agree. Night is a chance to relax a bit, cook the day's food and do some research/building.
  14. I agree with almost everything the OP says. My suggestion is to leave the insanity punishment update for level 50+ when you've had a chance to establish yourself.
  15. So let me guess, not only do I spend 100% of my time trying to find food, but now I have to fight insanity too? I have to say this is just too much. This game has gotten sadistically cruel. I'm afraid I'll be moving on to something.... fun... Damn shame too.
