  1. I have to be honest, my first time truly playing was in this update. I've watched other people, and strategised, but that was it. I decided to start on Wes, just because he looked interesting. I jumped 3 worlds in a total of 7 days without dropping below 50 sanity (He only has 75, if you don't know), and I only found out about the bed rolls on day 6-ish. I died because of mis-clicking, but that's beside the point. It isn't that hard to not go insane. I think of it this way. Are most people used to slaughtering animals and being warriors in fights? No, that is things that hunters, and those in the military do. I don't know if I could kill an animal, and as for fighting, I doubt I could hold off those spiders for long. These things drain your sanity though adrenaline and desperation. You have to admit these characters we're playing are not either hunters or military, though Wolfgang and the robot may have a bit on them in that category. Doing things that are more normal and things you are used to can calm you, and help you regain your sanity. I think it's pretty balanced right now. I haven't tried any worm holes, and I didn't do much hunting, but what I have viewed seems okay. You just can't only murder and destroy everything around you and expect to be completely sane. Or jump through worm holes... Because, I mean... I doubt any truly sane person would go into something that toothy and slimy willingly..
  2. I don't see the point in making it the research carry on. If you start a new pokemon game, you don't still have your badges, and this is the same. The only thing here is that you die, and do not have the option to Save your game like you do in pokemon. Even if it is tedious, it isn't that much of a pain.
  3. I think it would be a good idea to be able to toggle all the items that appear on the map. So when you're looking for say, a tallbird nest, and know you saw one, but can't find it, you could toggle off the rocks to find it. I also think trees should be marked, but that's just me. Heh. It would make for a very cluttered map... Also, being able to mark your map could be interesting...
  4. Heheh. Yes. That's what made me think of it. Well that, and the first image I saw of them. I suppose I should warn of icky gorey birdies for this. Sadly enough, I thought it was a berry at first.
  5. I drew it, and who, or what, I think it would interact with. I'm putting it in a spoiler sense I don't know the dimensions of the image and don't want to mess up the page.... I hope this works right.... I have no idea what I'm doing. Help. How do you remove the attached thumbnail? -.-'
  6. Heheh. Yes. I think they'd fit in quite well with the other little birdies. I believe I will be off to search for more interesting creatures at some point in the future.
  7. I recently heard of it. It's a bird that impales it's prey on thorns or spikes, from what I understand. I think it would fit wonderfully in the swamps, and perhaps attacks frogs and crows and such. I don't know, just a small idea. Either way, I'm going to try to sketch it in this style, as I think it would look interesting. Heh.
  8. Gah! Then I must scour the threads for more information! Heh. And thank you for the offer. I'm mostly looking for tall bird stuff, and Mandrakes, as I haven't really seen much of them. Really anything interesting. The graves also seem intriguing though, so them as well, if you can. I wasn't sure if you wanted me to pm you though.... But thank you regardless.
  9. Ah, yes. I've looked and read through all of your research previous to this post, but I'll have to stalk them as well. Heheh. I wish I could help you with your data collection, because that's always something I enjoy, but I can't yet.
  10. Oh, Thank you. I saw a mandrake once, but only a dead one... Heh. I've actually been watching quite a few videos, as well as searching up on these forums to create a strategy to play when I finally get the game, which will hopefully be Soon.
  11. I don't have the game, but this looks terribly interesting. I was curious if anyone would be willing to help me collect screen shots of various things, like graves, mandrakes, and such like that. I'm also curious on any lore ideas anyone has. I really want to try drawing some of this stuff, but I can't find examples of most items in a google image search, or looking trough the screen shots on the main site. I'm particularly curious about the mandrakes....
