  1. More often i read this thread, the more i like the idea of a "Dark Circus comes to town!"
  2. Highscore, definitely. Not an onlineboard, just a personal highscore. A reason, to come back and beat it.
  3. Another solution for a magical balance, may a character, which special power is to create/copy spellscrolls. And yes, magic can be far more, than just throw fireballs. Magic use could lure darker creatures from above into the world, too. As i heard of the hounds first, i thought about Lovecraft's "Hounds of Tindalos" .
  4. At least, the game is in EARLY beta. Don't forget this.
  5. Well, we are teleported by Demon in a world, where are Giant spiders, Treemens, Werepigs and (Soon) Hellhounds. Where trees can rise within days. Where you can eaten by the darkness itself. And there is a magic button in the craftmenu.I think, the game IS magicky. For sure, spells shouldn't be that powerful, like in other games/RPG's (question of balance).
  6. Well, and whats the point to have seasons then, in your opinion?
  7. My first thought in the game, when i've seen the papyrus was "Hey, you can surely make spell scrolls of it". Sadly, i can't. But why not? Put some spell scrolls into graves, crumbled temples or as a loot of an unknown magical monster. Use the scroll, and it will disappear. But if you have papyrus and charcoal (or ink and a feather), you're able to copy that spell.
  8. Yes, that's good. I hate it, to break a game, go for a wiki and "which ingredients would be need for.." , ehm, things Totally in for it. Also, the cooking book shouldn't use an inventory slot.
  9. When you receive a phone call, you can pause the game with ESC. A day in Don't Starve isn't longer than 8 min., so if you have a powercut, you lost only a couple of minutes, not a big issue imho. The map is random, so the pig village and location is always a little different. When you can't reach an item, you should rotate the map with the arrow keys.
  10. Seems like BeeGraspiMan becomes more common... Had this right of my starting location:
  11. I'm in for that, because i set ALWAYS my base camp near a beefalo herd, since we need constant manure for the fields. I thought, when i can lure 1 or 2 in my camp with grass (or a stick with a carrot on it; classy way) back to the camp, i'm more flexible to decide, where i build up my home. Another thing I'm thinking about, that we can hunt the rabbits ONLY with a spear. It's still too easy hunting rabbits with axe/pick/shovel/bare hands (which i prefer).
  12. In my last game, i questioned myself: do bees collect honey faster, when more flowers are around? At first, i thought, yes they do. But now i'm not sure. Has somebody experienced some field studies with flowers, bees and honey?
  13. No research for him? I don't know, i don't know... maybe make him slower, because he is fat and with his high Hp, he fits perfectly with the role of the classic tank (if some people can't/won't kite the monsters).
  14. Since, you can switch characters with the tent (which i don't like), i understand the demand of some players, to switch over another character in the same world. In it's actual state, the characters don't have special abilities (beside Wilson). But switching characters, when they HAVE specials, left me with mixed feelings. I think, when you start a new run with a specified char, this run should be unique with this char, with all ups and downs. Switching forth and back, to have the best opportunities in different situations could be an abusive way to play the game. So, if we really need to switch them in the same world? Or it's better to have more worlds parallel(3 saves e.g.) , if a player gets bored and want to start over with a new character, but wont delete his actual saves? The mirror thingy, to switch over, may be a bargain, if the mirror is a random "building" somewhere on the islands (definitely not a handheld version), with the fact, that a switch cause some sort of "bad luck", when you do it.
  15. At first, the tent was an item, to regain health, but some kind of useless. So with the actual build, the meatfarms are gone (which is good), and healing with food is harder now. I don't like the thing, that the tent was changed to switch over other characters; healing with a full stomach is a good revival of the healing function, in my opinion. I like the idea.
