  1. When we capture a rabbit or bird in a trap, I thought it would be nice if we could keep it alive as a pet Of course this would have a survival tactique to it too: if ur starving, eat ur pets! So basically instead of automatically slaughtering our furry friends, we could decide to do it now or later/never. TEEHEE We could make pet cages with twigs and silk/rope. And when we catch a bunny/bird it appears in the cage. YAYYYY!!!!! <3
  2. Sorry if this is something that was obvious to everyone, but I've tried shift, option, control, etc. to "build" or "plant" a tree or wall, but every time I put it down it just drops the pinecone or hay stack onto the ground :(How do you do this now? It was different before and now im confused haha
  3. Hello fellow Wilsons (and Willows and Wendys and etc.)! Just thought I would share a good way to prevent your pig from doing anything creepy over the next few days (as I have been told there is Soon going to be a "creepy pig" update). This is for those of you who, like me, have built a pig house VERY close to camp and are very afraid, like me, of the upcoming mysterious creepy pig thing. Just build a pig enclosure far from your camp!! That way, when he turns into a werepig or whatever, you are sure to be safe! "I follow!" "OH NO YOU DONT."
  4. For some reason when I try to install the game on steam it says "DOn't starve is not available on your current platform" (I have a mac book pro version 10.8.1), so I just play on chrome. I was hesitating to start all over again from the beginning to get the december updates, but since I'm on day 262 I was a bit reluctant... Is there a way to get all the updates (tallbirds, bird cages, football helmets, spider queens, etc) without starting all over and making a new world? Just wondering, cus some people suggested I "download" them on my current game instead but I had no idea how. (
  5. I have a dilemma...

Yeah thats what I wanted to do but i dont know how to update! ( I'm on the chrome version because when I go on steam it says dont starve isn't available on my platform! (mac book pro) O.o
  6. I have a dilemma...

*Sniffle* Yes, Toaster Fu, I think the time has come. I shall go through the entire "Official Cooking Combos Thread" and make myself a gigantic buffet... and then I shall say goodbye to my dear Mr. Scruffles. And then leave for "another world." lol
  7. I have a dilemma...

I never really understood how to go on the steam version actually I know how to get my steam key but then i dont know what to do with it...?

  9. OMG THATS SO COOL!! It takes me 3 days to go from one end of my map to the other :PPP
  10. Hello guys, So, this is the story of my "life" (and of the dilemma). I live in a perfect little world that has taken me 262 days to make perfect. My tiny island is entirely self-sufficient. I've got 5 crates full of all possible food resources, a crate full of my collection of redbirds and crows, another of all the little things I find (hounds teeth, amulets, gold, buttons, etc.), a huge field of hay, and a beefalo named Mr. Scruffles At night, I sleep in the midst of a firefly show. Sometimes at dusk I cross the bridge to the safe marshlands (most tentacles were destroyed by my pig army in the days before the warepig update) to fish and gather weeds. My dog, Baskerville, guards the entrance to my island (as he runs forever towards the unattainable monster meat on the bridge). I have about 40 bushes which also means about 3 turkeys every 4 days. I'm never in need of anything, neither do I live in fear, because my wall of trees and bushes keep out the hounds. My days are leisurely and happy. AND YET.... I don't have the update of the daper vest, or the bird cage, or the tallbirds just because I refuse to start all over again after all this work!!! What should I do?? Eat all my resources like a grand buffet at a one-man party, free my birds, give all the carrots to the bunnies and kill myself? Sounds so grim... Please help me make a decision. ((((
  11. Umm... What is this?

    Yay! Thanks!
  12. Furthest Day

    I'm on day 267
  13. A bug saved my life.

OMG THAT IS AWESOME!!! I will do that next time the hounds attack me. I have about 5 gobbler morsels floating in the ocean on my island! w00t.
  14. I wanted to put the volume up but clicked the wrong key on my keyboard and this appeared... How do i get rid of it??? :S
  15. Fireflies

I do! Me and my evil dog love the swamps. LOL jk xD
  16. Fireflies

Omg urs is so much prettier than mine!! I did that too with 26 fireflies but i still need to make a fire at night cus i realized that when one goes out i'm in total darkness unless I run around all night And how did u make that bird cage??
  17. Krampus.

Woah, wait... There's a RIGHT WAY to kill the red hound so it doesnt actually burn down ur whole base??? OMGGGG!!! HOW???????? Please tell me. i am protecting my wall of trees!! (which itself blocks out the hounds quite efficiently!!)
  18. Oh thats nice So basically like pigs back in the day, except cuter and...and they burn when they die? What? O.O thats sad...
  19. OMG SERIOUSLY???????? So the sleep thing is not temporary?? :DD
  20. Awwwwwwwww That's nice. But they freak me out so much when they come out of the nest that I just freeze before I can even think of turning them into cute little fur balls.
  21. To excess's comment on keeping an eye on Mr Scruffles: Oh no... PLEASE NO!! Dont tell me they would--!!! Okay. Mr. Scruffles is sleeping in the camp now. No venturing outside anymore. Nope.
  22. I know It's sad... LOL
  23. OHAI GUYS!! So I just thought I would share the kind "Welcome Home" I received upon returning to my abode from 2 weeks hunting and gathering in faraway lands: So I get home, day 226, and it feels like ages (considering I hadn't logged on in ages). And I plant some bushes, eat, add cool objects to my collection and go to bed. Mr. Scruffles looks at me with the same blank eyes, but I'm sure he's happy to see me too. Dawn. Ahh, firefly show. Home sweet home, no danger. Sweet dreams. I wake up, and...TURKEYS!! 2 TURKEYS jump out of the bushes and I'm like, "Oh goodie! This is my lucky day! This time I will hunt them, even though they are adorable, because considering the surge of evil updates I am anticipating a 'winter season' in which I may starve and need to dig into my meat reserve. So I'm running around with my axe hunting the turkeys when I accidentally hit a tree and it just so happened to be my dear Old Friend, but he is NOT happy. So here I am running after turkey while the tree is running after me, and then, *cherry on top*, this cute little fluffy thing runs up to me and I'm like, "Awww! It's a doggy!! Finally a nice update! Come here, boy!! Come here you! Come--ARGHHHHHAAAAHHHHH HHUUUUUHHHHHHHH... [death rattle]" But it turned out the doggy didn't like me either. Does anything like me in the world anymore? ( I'm so lonely. At least I have my Mr. Scruffles. I won't butcher Mr. Scruffles even if I starve to death <3 TADAHHHHH!!! THE END
  24. So I thought that my island was missing one last thing: Beefalos. And I thought that if I could but bring one back from their island, I would by happy. But of course this would need a LOT of planning. So after taking 32 cooked pumpkins and 15 cooked pig meats from my resources, and heading off with a bee hat, a tentacle spike, coal, some firewood and cut grass, and a whole bunch of pine cones, I crossed all 4 islands separating my home and the beefalo heard.I had a small camp with some farm plots set up at the beefalo island, so stayed there a few days in order to burn down all the spider dens that occupied that hostile area, as well as the three bee hives that would threaten the survival of my beefalo. Then, I PUSHED (I did not harm him once) my friend the beefalo ALLLLLLLL the way from his island to where you now see us on the map. I stil have plenty of food, wood and grass, but my only concern now is to get him across the marshland. My previous pig army has killed almost all of the tentacles along the path home, but I know that if I stop pushing my beefalo even once, he will walk off through the unsafe marshlands and I will not be able to get him back without taking huge risks.SHOULD I CONTINUE PUSHING HIM OR SHOULD I ATTACK HIM ONCE WE ARE AT THE MARSHLANDS SO THAT HE FOLLOWS ME THROUGH ALONG THE GOOD PATH? ANY ADVICEI am really overdoing this but please, if you believe i can succeed in bringing him home, reply :DLAWLZ
