  1. Thanks! He was meant to look like he'd eat you, but I failed at that.
  2. First off, I'm very new to art and this is one of my first attempts at digital art.Have a red bird. It's riddled with mistakes (body is out of proportion, colours are a bit wrong etc.)I'll probably improve it later. Here's the image(Forum glitch doesn't let me upload)Critiques are appreciated.
  3. It's excellent except when you use 'freakish'. That spoils the quality.
  4. Bug Submission Please choose a category [Gameplay] Platform Chrome Version Number 69338 Issue title Rabbits pop up at night Steps to reproduce Camp near a bunch of rabbit holes whose inhabitants aren't killed. Describe your issue Rabbits pop out of the holes at night and disappear in a split second as long as you aren't too close to them. If you are quick enough, running towards the rabbit will produce the 'alarm call'. This can be exploited to trap rabbits at night.
  5. Believe me, it is very irritating.
  6. Upon my travels, I have uncovered many befuddling species of my prison. It is indeed strange how these creatures manage to live without throwing the ecosystem of balance, yet they manage to do it. There are a great many secrets I am not able to discover. More to come!
  7. The reason for which an assortment of stuff appear when pigs die is because you fed them that. Any thing you feed the pig except raw meat and honey will appear after the pigs dead. So, you can use the pig as a portable food source. Kill it when you want to by getting it to attack beefalo.
  8. Looking forward to all of this. Any chances of rainforest in the distant future?
  9. The only thing that are aggressive towards you in this game at the moment are wild bees and spiders. Coincidencially, they are the only arthropods here. It would be nice if we could have more, like stingless bees that produce less honey and can't attack. Or scorpions and such. Maybe have a giant praying mantis. Maybe even cockroaches and crickets that can be kept as pets . About larger wildlife- The only large hunt-able non-sentient animal here at the moment are beefalo, if you don't include pigs. I wonder what the megafauna update is about, but does it have elephants or gaur? Maybe even domesticate some of them. Or have animals that should be hunted using stealth. Probably animals who can hunt you such as tigers. That would be something to be wary of. Plants- PLEASE add variety to the game's forest. I have never seen a forest that has only one kind of tree. Also, tall grass could give us an advantage when hunting for rabbits, as it allows us to stalk our prey... There should be more forageable fruit. No one could be a vegetarian like myself only eating carrots and berries. A jungle section and a desert section would be nice.
  10. Megafauna could mean ANY particularly large animal, it does not need to be a part of a specific country.
  11. Seasons doesn't make much sense to me, but, there aren't many seasons where I live. It would be nice if we have an ice-filled island, though.
  12. Sorry, there's another thread on this .
  13. I don't think the island has coverage...
  14. I was cutting down trees with my pigs when one pig stopped and started dancing. It was saying all the normal pig dialogs like "I kill tree", "I punch tree", "I smash mean tree". Yet, it was dancing while the others were doing all the hard work.
  15. You can read my mind! You're right about the multitool, the knife should be used for ALL tasks that don't require a tool even making a fire or building a pig house. Also, now that you have mentioned skinning rabbits, it can be made compulsory to skin them after killing them, though it should be possible to do it with the swirly-hand thing, since it doesn't make any sense for the meat to fly out of the rabbit after killing them.
  16. I feel that the game is a brilliant concept and is executed beautifully. Even at this early stage, it is a lot of fun to play. I just thought of some ideas- Tools- [*]A knife. In the real world, that is the first tool usually built. It can reduce time for tasks that don't require any tool such as cutting grass, foraging for berries, starting a fire and making tools or other items. [*]A multitool, it can reduce the amount of inventory slots tools require. [*] Islands- I feel that since the game itself seems to be on an island, why not have different isolated islands that can only be accessed by boat. They can have different geographical conditions, some islands can be tropical, while others can be arid and so on. Each island can also have different native sentient beings that can be moved from island to island, like the pig men. I would prefer the pigmen to look less like european pigs and look more wild, like a wild boar.Islands could have elephant men, peccary-men, just to name a few. They can help gather other resources than wood, such as stone or grass. Also, they need different fauna, like tigers and scorpions. The sea- If you need to access the islands, you need to cross the ocean, that could be done by boat. It can start off with canoes or kayaks and become more advanced up to ships. There can be fishing in the boats to subsist the boat could have fishing methods, even the land needs fishing. About, small, low-leveled boats, pigs should have seperate boats. There should be sea animals that may attack you, such as sharks or killer whales. Fauna- I am excited about a megafauna update, but I would like to give a few suggestions. At the moment there is only one type of large game- the beefalo. There could be deer or antelope, that are too fast for the player to casually kill and require cunning to hunt. They might need to be stalked and surprised. Perhaps have a bow? An elephant could be a very difficult creature to kill on other islands, these animals might need the cooperation of pigmen. Also, there should be some predators to compete with you, such as tigers (Oops, this is a temperate game). Bears or pumas can compete with you and steal yor food, or even attack you directly. I think this has been mentioned several times, but domestication might add something more to the game. There are bees already, why not domesticate beefalo for meat and milk? Maybe even have pets. There is also a serious lack of reptiles, you could add geckos or snakes. Music- I feel the trumpet does not go with the theme of Don't Starve. Maybe have flute music instead? Of course, this is my opinion only. Farm graphics- I feel that having the same graphic for all farmed plants is king of strange. Carrots can have the same graphic as the wild carrots, berries can look like the bush, meat can be a horrendous, alien-looking plant.
  17. Forgive me for not posting about this, but it fixed itself after the first post. he second time, the problem went away after logging out and logging back in, though it did not work the first time. However, some people like ben135 seem to have the problem consistently. So, can you please look into it?
