  1. A tiring but true classic: A wormhole less than 5 tiles from each point. This Rose Appraiser regrets not snapping a photo.
  2. Timeline has been adjusted to better match the story. Please feel free to make suggestions to better compile the Lore.

  3. Small tweaks to the timeline have been made, labelled accordingly, and are subject to change as the beta and story progress.

      Timeline - Google Docs

  4. More and more roses are blooming throughout Her Garden... Truly a great season is ahead! Back to work then.

  5. The survivors all have quotes on the Shadow Atrium; some say it is pure evil/twisted (true), others cite how it seems immensely powerful, and a select few claim experiencing feelings of sorrow. Perhaps the reason they reanimate the skeleton is because of the heart yearning corporality. If the survivors found the Atrium, they felt the heart's connection to that tragic place. They then reassembled the skeleton and awoke the Fuelweaver. Not the best speculation this Rose Appraiser could create, but hopefully this can suffice a bit.
  6. Wilbur: the pirate monkey king. Much like Antlion, he sends out swashbuckling primates to harass and plunder the survivors. The survivors must pay tribute to make the pirates neutral or defeat Wilbur. Should he be defeated, the pirate monkeys scatter and are weakened until Wilbur finds his way back. The pirate monkeys could have small boats that shoot small non-lethal ammunition that primarily damages the boat or sails. And being monkeys, they can throw... fertilizer... at the survivors and crack open chests. This idea needs more fleshing out and likely heavy revision from this Rose Appraiser.
  7. A group of crows is called a murder, so perhaps that is who they're referring to? As for the being followed, that is certainly something... probably just paranoia though.... unless...
  8. Marvelous! A truly elegant way to celebrate the upcoming solstice! New games! New Duplicates! New skins! Now the real question, who is ready for pirate monkeys?
  9. The Gatekeepers could very well be Cyclum & Metheus (tentative names), the leaders(?) of the Ancients. This is merely speculation. A keen eye, SomebodyRandom, a keen eye indeed. A deeper discussion is in order. The Ancient Hulk could very well be a prototype for the Sentrypedes, evidenced by its pseudo-indestructible nature and use of electrical elements. Sentrypedes are impossible to destroy, only turned off. The Ancient Hulk, similarly activates upon charging with electricity. Though, again, this is speculation.
  10. This Rose Appraiser shall add/revise these lore tidbits to the timeline for future correction and speculation.
  11. Allow this Rose Appraiser to use a chessboard analogy. The Constant is, and likely has been, a chessboard for the game between Shadows and Celestials. The survivors are the pieces, biomes are tiles, etc. The reason for this board can be anything. It could be the latest and longest match over controlling a larger war. But, it can also be something as simple as the two sides are just having a chess match for the sake of it.
  12. Spring Cleaning, Ragtime, Flight of the Grumble Bee, the Cawnival, and Farmwork. Of course, the entire soundtrack is great. This Rose Appraiser enjoys listening to these tunes while working in the Garden or on an Assignment.
  13. Autumn: Explore the mainland, evaluate base locations, set up garden, nightmare fuel or blue gems, lanterns, prepare for Winter Winter: Walrus, winter gardening, possibly some fishing, realizing resources are woefully minimal, Deerclops, bones, prepare for Spring Spring: Deal with the rain, Moose/Goose, light cave exploration, same sailing perhaps, frog rain, ice flingomatic, prepare for Summer Summer: Sail for mangrove if sufficiently desperate, cave life, survive off of berries and mushrooms, MAYBE Antlion, herald the new Autumn Second Autumn: realize survival to this stage was a long shot, set up multiple projects, Bearger, repeat as necessary
  14. It could work, but it is highly unlikely Klei would even consider adding alcoholic beverages or intoxication to the game. How large of grapes are you growing that you can stuff meat into them? Do you perhaps mean, grape-stuffed meat, which is fig-stuffed trunk.
  15. Another day in the Garden, another pot of rosehip tea, and so much to do. This is shaping up to be very pleasant.

  16. This Rose Appraiser and associated acquaintances appreciate everything Klei does for their games. This Rose Appraiser learned about Klei when Shipwrecked was still in early access, but didn't play until right before Home Sea Home. DST was not added to this Rose Appraiser's collection until A New Reign was finishing up, if this Rose Appraiser recalls... or maybe it was the Forge... either way, Klei was fantastic then and still are! Of course, this Rose Appraiser will not pretend there aren't rough patches. But, that is the way it is. Game development will always have highs and lows. Whatever the case may be, Klei has always delivered a product people enjoy. Thank you, to everyone working at Klei, for all these wonderful works.
  17. What a marvelous day in the Mistresses' Rose Garden. Hopefully the weather stays this pleasant. Soon the roses will bloom and the work season will begin!

    2. RoseAppraiser

      RoseAppraiser

This Rose Appraiser is preparing for the upcoming season. The summertime in the Rose Garden is a wonderful time when many of the Garden's sectors enter their blooming periods.

Numerous Rose Appraisers typically work in the Mistresses' Rose garden year-round. This particular Rose Appraiser is one that helps take care of the Roses. Others take care of the Rhododendrons, some carry out orders, The Rose Appraiser is The Mistresses' ever reaching arm... Sincere Apologies, this Rose Appraiser is rambling.

  18. You are correct. Wortox's quote for the inactive Ancient Gateway (Atrium) implies that somehow, Krampus and Wortox had a way to jump through. Given how Constant history is functionally nonexistent when discussing just about everything outside the Ancients, this is pure speculation at best. The Pig Civilization is the spiritual successor to the Ancients. They, surface dwellers through and through, never learned of nightmare fuel. Thus they only have limited technological advancements. Hamlet likely indicates that the two "factions," if you will, have formed ages ago. The Pig King vignette itself states, "Legend has it the Pig King and his followers left their home long ago to rule freely in The Constant" (Line pulled from the DS/T wiki). So while one group (DS/RoG/DST), is limited to simple houses and very little resources, Hamlet has a Victorian design. The split apparently resulted from Pig King, or an ancestor, wishing to rule freely. Hamlet is following a human history of sorts without nightmare fuel. Unfortunately you might be mixing quotes, Wormwood's quotes to portals are all childlike and in reference to doorways but no indication as to whether or not Wormwood travelled through.
  19. Maxwell was someone who was privy to some of Their secrets. It makes sense that he learned a thing or two about the fuel and how to utilize it effectively. Wolfgang's short proved how William (unintentionally) gave Wolfgang a boost in muscle mass. Who's to say Maxwell can't do something similar, such as temporarily spawning hordes of friendly shadows to help keep him safe. His frailty, from his prolonged reign on the throne, can result in shadows doing less damage to him. He would also have a proficiency or gimmick where he can repair nightmare fuel items at a reasonable cost, say some health and sanity. He is also well-versed in Ancient history, so perhaps he can access some unique creations at a pseudoscience altar or at least prototype the basics.
  20. Voxola and Wagstaff had a peculiar naming system so it likely ties in that way. PR-76 was the radio ML-77 was the gramophone WX-78
  21. The empathy module is definitively unresponsive as of this video.
  22. This Rose Appraiser made an attempt at compiling the DS/T timeline several months ago. The post has since been archived. This attempt shall, hopefully, allow for a smoother attempt at viewing the attempt. As addressed, most of the timeline is speculation and subject to changes as more knowledge is uncovered. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iDbizfV-HpMaz8OMilqHRzAsODcygY88JxHkFLcw53M/edit?usp=sharing
  23. A human turned automaton... Fascinating... Robert Wagstaff and his partner... It is time to edit the timeline! So much Lore to be discussed! Marvelous job on the update Klei!
  24. Funny thing, this Rose Appraiser made the same prediction while compiling and speculating the DS/T timeline. But, of course, speculation is easily disproven as Klei will be the ones to call the shots.
  25. The role of Rose Appraiser is far more demanding than this. If such a thing was possible, this would be a vacation for this Rose Appraiser.
