  1. just a note that since dst uses lua5.1, it has no "goto" statement like in the first answer in the link above
  2. @shadowDigga why did you bring up shipwrecked
  3. your SSD will naturally be faster than your HDD by magnitudes which is normal, and if you want even more speed, you can try using a ramdisk, which can be several times faster than your SSD (how much faster it'll be will be limited by your cpu speed) a HDD is normally slower because it uses phyical discs to store data which have to be constantly rotated to access information, and you'd have to deal with fragmentation under the ntfs filesystem (which windows uses) a SSD has zero moving parts, and data access is random (this means no fragmentation) though i've noticed that the game's loading times have become much longer recently, but i'm not sure why
  4. super nitpick: the stuff you see in-game like items, structures, mobs, etc are called "entities", not "prefabs" a prefab is like a blueprint to a house, while an entity is a finished house for example, an Egg's prefab name is "bird_egg": the Egg itself is not a bird_egg prefab, merely it's an entity built from the bird_egg prefab anyway, i just wanted to dispel this common misconception since it peeves me
  5. there's no difference between storing them in your inventory or in a backpack
  6. birds have a 0% chance of leaving behind seeds when you spook them while you have seeds in your inventory drop your seeds at least two tiles away from a bird before spooking it if you want a lot of seeds for whatever reason a use for this would be for crafting a good bunch of woodie's goose idol very early (this applies for flint, twigs, and grass too when birds are able to drop those for you)
  7. i know it's possible to adjust for this when kiting, but it's still stupidly deceptive
  8. nice profile photo

  9. here's everything inside wurt.fsb: wurtflac.7z (note that there's a bunch of non-wurt sounds inside)
  10. i've assumed that they've left because of the last thread they've participated in (so i thought of this as a strange overreaction), but it seems that was just the last straw on the camel's back i don't think anybody wanted them to leave, hopefully the progress for their project isn't over especially with what appears to be a lot of people waiting for a release
  11. iirc webp images should display correctly for the latest versions of firefox, edge, and opera too (idk why you'd even use anything else) and by those running on chromium, i'm sure webp is supported for even non-browsers like electron apps (such as skype and discord), android webview, chromium-embedded apps (such as steam and minecraft's launcher), etc basically: why are we still using gifs?
  12. please put heavy images inside spoilers, that one's 21.9 MiB, which is ridiculously large for slow connections such as mine you can try using webp's combined lossy + lossless compression to minimise the size of an animated image this one is 4.3 MiB:
  13. this is a very common unity bug on linux this is especially bad for unity games where you have to play a video to progress, making the game unplayable you can still play the video by finding it within the game's install directory, if your media player can recognise it (try mpv)
  14. this crash is caused by a mod that's not being maintained by klei, so it belongs here: https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/forum/79-dont-starve-together-mods-and-tools/ regardless, what's causing the crash is line 96 of prefabs/mrdevil.lua inst.components.inventoryitem.onputininventoryfn = function(inst, player) if player.prefab ~= "bibi" then inst:DoTaskInTime(0.01, function() player.components.inventory:DropItem(inst) player.components.talker:Say("I don't like its face.") end) end end change it to this: inst.components.inventoryitem.onputininventoryfn = function(inst, player) if player.prefab == "bibi" then return end inst:DoTaskInTime(0.01, function(inst) if inst and player.components.inventory then player.components.inventory:DropItem(inst) end if player.components.talker then player.components.talker:Say("I don't like its face.") end end) end
  15. spriter's gif export feature seems to be unstable in general i think it's better to export them into a sequence of png images then just use imagick/ffmpeg/whatever to turn them into a gif or video you can use ezgif.com if you don't want to install anything edit: apparently batch export is a spriter pro feature, but iirc it's not too hard to unlock spriter's pro features
  16. they use krane + spriter krane is part of nsimplex's ktools, which isn't a perfect decompiler, but it's the only one out there krane produces spriter projects (assets + scml file), which spriter can view, edit, or extract into png sequences or gif animations when i say krane isn't perfect, this is what i mean: edit: here's a download for ktools, here's how to use krane, and here's a download for spriter
  17. Don't Starve Together: 371739 LINUX_STEAM behaviour in a server generated without caves from the host game menu (client and server are in the same process): when you Cook a rabbit on a campfire or firepit, you will be able to hear a scream this is intentional according to line 189 of prefabs/rabbit.lua 189: inst.components.cookable:SetOnCookedFn(OnCookedFn) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 125:local function OnCookedFn(inst) 126: inst.SoundEmitter:PlaySound("dontstarve/rabbit/scream_short") 127: 128:end behaviour as a client: when you Cook a rabbit on a campfire or firepit, you will not hear the scream
