  1. For some people complaining the Celestial portal "ruins the game" for them, it's not something for you. It's a fairly expensive build early on, and provides a very minor game feature that's not even necessary for most players. It's just something that allows people to bypass using console commands to swap up their characters in Survival and Endless game modes. Whether that's because they dropped into a server with too many of one character, or they're not necessary anymore, they get bored but wanna maintain their builds, or they're solo and wanna use other characters for their perks. If it's not something you like, you don't have to use it. Especially for the amount of build time to go into it.
  2. Wurt+ One-man Band

One-man Band will not tame Merms or Mermguards, but will tame pigs whilst playing Wurt
  3. Built an entire Merm city only to be disappointed I couldn't run through the place gathering merms using the one-man band on either the merms or or the guards. Dunno if it's intentional that one-man band doesn't work on them or a bug. Just somewhat disappointed. Also on that note: One-man band does allow Wurt to befriend pigs..sooo...merm-pig army?
  4. I would have to echo that a lot of my problems with Wurt boil down to either niche, useless or clunky mechanics. -I don't like the Merm King rewards you trinkets you cannot use (I understand the game's about multiplay, but not everyone plays multiplay, or even plays a variety team in case of multiwurts) -I don't like that while maintaining that fish are still the merms' currency, in winter your primary method of obtaining it is through murder -Tentacle visual indicators just vanish in winter since it matches the coloration of snow -It's a little frustrating that the mermking buff applies only an HP buff to Wurt, I'd like to see at least a minor damage buff for the setup time and cost of it. As well as to remain consistent to the buff's application to all the other merms. -Bunnymen are still the best minions, even as Wurt. They're easy to amass, have really strong dps, run away when low to heal, and attack virtually anything as a monster or carrying meat, meaning you only have to kite through their village. Merms are still not particularly good for much for the Kiting AI. (Maybe have the MermGuards have an AI more similar to bunnymen or rock lobsters to make them seem more of an incentive). -It's still better to base near classic base locations than the swamp, just making or moving turf to those locations. Tentacles are still "fleeting" as an area protection, swamps are located far away from other resources, etc. Maybe if craftsmerms could collect reeds or player be able to build fishermerm huts like SW that can still capitalize off the location. Otherwise the primary benefit of a swamp base is you could build next to mermhouses which have a cap of 4 merms instead of the 1. -Be neat to have more merm "aesthetics" available. More buildings, turfs, or walls, even if just cosmetics like skins
  5. Is garlic too rare?

Well you could go the Warly route for one free garlic, or go the Wormwood route and plant 200 seeds, you're bound to get at least one of everything. Tho seriously yeah, Wormwood is the best at working to build/establish a seed collection.
  6. I think one considerable way to convert teeth into bones would be have teeth be used as a resource to gather something that can drop bones: Such as using hounds teeth to make deep sea fishing rod, and some of the fish you catch can be left out to die/rot and become bones, kinda like on the lunar island or like SW.
  7. I would say I'd love to convert houndsteeth into bones in some way, I have no idea what to do with the metric ton of them I've collected over my time surviving on a server. I at least can find more use out of bones than houndsteeth, (especially as Warly or Wormwood). P.S. Even without this conversion, anyone have an idea how to dispose of a large amount of houndsteeth in a relatively small amount of time?
  8. Wurt's diet guide

Bruh, chill, it's a joke. "It's meat AND veg?!" Without any release, the only "real" thing we can do is speculate, otherwise there's no real expectations. Can't be even certain what items will be flagged as what regarding Wurt's "diet" as the devs could always write exceptions on both sides of the isle. And even still as with any of the other new releases or reworks, there's no guarantee that details won't be changed but a week later. Just relax and enjoy stupid speculation, jokes, and memes.
  9. Why do you play as your main?

Currently: Wormwood and Warly, tho definitely looking forward to Wurt for aesthetic reasons (I'm a huge sucker for fishmonsters) Wormwood:Interesting engaging with a character that doesn't use food to heal, actually encouraging me to look towards alternative mechanics I've never used (healing items and sleeping), also is excellent early game for building up a seed/crop rotation, dung and rot farms, mushroom planters, nasty trap fields, but doesn't have much going on once you have your resource game covered aside from being an easy source of living logs. (Also is great for getting yo damn beefalos tamed) Warly: Just fun in the effect that you basically become the game's chef and your focus shifts to crock pot recipes and their niches/usefulness. Still haven't memorized them all, but definitely have a quick and easy cheat-sheet for DST recipes. Also one of the best supports in the game between his exclusive recipes and spices. And between the two, excellent synergy. Let the foodlords reign supreme.
  10. Wurt's diet guide

For as much of a discussion about all kinds of various minutiae of what's ok in Wurt's diet or not, I'm curious how "leafy meat" is going to factor into her diet. I mean, it is in one way technically meat....also it is technically vegetable...
  11. Wurt's diet guide

I don't see Wurt having difficulty surviving in winter aside from limited crock pot recipes early on, otherwise they do list her as "vegetarian" and not "vegan" or "herbivorous". Eggs, milk, honey are all not against a vegetarian diet, and those along with foraged food, cactus, and stone fruit are fairly regularly available in winter. You can also grab cave bananas as well as mushroom farms from the underground (which still grow in winter). What I would more want to see is some more recipes involved with materials like these for your crock pot. There isn't a lot of variety when using non-farm foods (which are limited in winter if any at all), and without meat in your recipes, there isn't really anything "hefty" you can eat to fill you up. So while not too stressful for winter, I would hope klei can add more crockpot recipes that involve winter foraged foods, eggs, and/or mushrooms. (And more recipe variety is always fun for Warly)
  12. Currently main Wormwood and Warly. So I guess small nitpick for both... Wormwood: You can heal using "fertilize" but you still "eat" rot and glommer goop. Warly: The whole not eating crockpot food's a single line of code and his SW debuffs for non-crockpot food is still in the files. So it's just functionally the same (encouraging you to eat mainly crockpot foods), just more inconvenient. Especially as I will often do stuff like eating minor items to remove them from my inventory rather than stop my stride to drop them.
  13. I build a bunch of mushroom planters using Wormwood or Woodie (for the living log income) and fill them with red mushrooms or spores. They have a lot more use imo than green or blue mushrooms. In addition to being crockpot filler like other mushrooms you can: -Leave a few laying around berry farms to attract and kill gobblers -4 monster meats+27 red caps= 27 manure, 2 meat, and 1 pigskin -Wormwood can eat them without penalty -drop a few large stacks to get rid of Bearger (I prefer to drop them to clean up bearger after deerclops fight) -fed to anything in your inventory to "murder" them without naughtiness (like if you don't want to attract Krampus while saving for your gossamer saddle) -If you don't find a use for them before they expire, well you can still use them for rot or ash
  14. So funfact towards this: Woodie still has his increased duration of followers passive from pre-rework, so chopping w/pigs might be a thing you still do
