  1. I made the assumption that they were disabled as a result of them having been broken in some way. I don't mod in this game but this has, in my experience, been the case for mods being disabled in other games I have played. My apologies.
  2. For sure, but as someone that has played a number of games where modding was significant, updates almost always mean some mods breaking. As I said, it's not the developer's job to look at changes they make and go "Is this going to break any mod that has been written for the game?". It's just not their job and shouldn't be expected to be because that's simply not practical. It is the job of the mod writers to ensure their stuff stays compatible and working.
  3. Mods not working are not the responsibility of the developers in any way.
  4. That's not what happened with this update so why are you choosing that example. A BUNCH of stuff got changed, if the mod coding in any way relies on the stuff that got changed it's going to break. That's always going to be the reality of modding in games. You can expect to wait after every patch for the mod authors to update their ****. It's not the base game programmer's job to make sure they don't break third party game additions.
  5. This is often what happens when modding a game and is part of the reason a lot of people don't use them. Happened with Minecraft, happened with Wow, etc.
  6. Just in case you didn't know, there is already a shift modifier to help you build in straight lines! Your idea is still a very good one, however =)
  7. I guess it's a difference of playstyles too. I usually alternate between "pause and build", "oversee and prevent stupid deaths", and "think about wtf I'm doing next". Leaves fewer chances for things like that to happen.
  8. Same thing happens if you put a wire through a natural tile forgetting they'll dig the tile out and ruining your natural water tanks. We can't expect to have our hands held that much, imo.
  9. One of those is user error, the other 3 are indeed frustrating.
