UPDATED - Studio Note & Rhymes with Play Streams Temporarily Canceled.   03/06/2020

UPDATE (3/19/20): Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online, extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.   That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.  We will let you know as we see how these changes affect our timelines.  Thanks UPDATE (3/10/20):
The test yesterday went well. We got the whole office (mostly) to work from home without significant issue. As a result, Klei Staff that can work from home have been asked to do so until further notice.  This means that we will have to cancel the Rhymes with Play stream until we are all back in the office. This shouldn't affect anything else at least in the short term, but if things change I will update you all here.  Original Post: Hey everybody,  This Tuesday March 10th, 2020 the entire staff at Klei will be working remotely for 1 day in an effort to prepare the studio to work remotely for a little while if the need arises.  Klei is already set up pretty well to allow for working remotely, however we are going to have a one day "dry run" with the whole studio so that we can identify and avoid any issues or downtime that may arise should choose to implement a work from home policy due to COVID-19 outbreak concerns. Unfortunately this does mean that we will be canceling the “Rhymes with Play” Art stream this coming Tuesday, however unless the situation changes we expect everything at the studio to be back to normal Wednesday and we’ll continue our regular stream schedule Thursday March 12th. If the situation changes at all, we'll let you know. Thanks for your understanding.

  1. Placing mod in Dev folder (as for testing during mod implementation) results in an endless "Content changed"/"reload required" message loop. If I reload, no amount of reloads removes this message. I can enable the mod in the mod list and ignore the messages, but the mod won't work in game like this. I have tested this on two Ubuntu PCs, 18.04 and 16.04 and the behavior is exactly the same. I have tested exactly the same mod on Windows, and it works without loop - I restart the game once, and then the mod works for me. The issue only happens with Dev and Local mods, Steam mods work fine. This mod enables bigger camera zoom out, so you can easily test if it is working by scrolling out with mouse wheel in normal game mode. If mod works, you can scroll the whole map into your screen. Big thanks to @Cairath for helping me and providing the mod. Here is the log snippet that happens on Ubuntu each time the game is started (and looping with reload-required), please note I've edited out user names etc: [18:41:04.617] [1] [INFO] Initializing at 2019-08-08 18:41:04.616 [18:41:04.617] [1] [INFO] Save path: /home/<USER>/.config/unity3d/Klei/Oxygen Not Included [18:41:04.798] [1] [INFO] Load mod database [18:41:04.850] [1] [INFO] Latent reinstall of mod biggercamerazoomout [18:41:04.852] [1] [INFO] ModLoader.dll failed to load. 2. I confirm that renaming the mod folder to all lowercase fixes the loop. The mod loads correctly now. Thanks a lot for your help!
  3. Convenience of replacing ladders with tiles to me is worth watching my hand more closely to not break stuff. Really nice feature to have. But heavy wire behind ladders is so much a pattern already that I really hope it's an omission rather than intention. Smileys being unambiguous in these notes is so nice (: The bug fix is great (can only imagine what it took if it arrives among the last patches), but the smileys are that spirit that makes your games your games (: Congrats and thanks to devs, to @mathmanican and to @FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX .
  4. For a hidden geyser, I can set it's priority to !! - yellow alert - and then when I click on it I can see the geyser info with the type listed. This seems like a minor but really since I know how it works (from the forums) I just can't keep myself from doing it, although I really think that the game would be more interesting if I had to actually dig the thing up to know what it is.
  5. Well, given that anyone can already play the beta anyway, which is now new changes almost every weekday, there's no pressing for the release date for players that much. Although at times something breaks to a point where the game is not really playable (I wanted to play this evening but seems I won't), most of the time the game is playable. Plus we get to say our opinions on the forums, plus they are heard and addressed (the geysers, the wheat, the lights, yay). I hope that the planned release date is not that pressing for the development team and they can get the game to the state at which they are happy with it.
  6. What a shame, I thought head entombment was the thing that made most of dupes special character and charm.. In all seriousness, it really made them stand out from generic game heroes. So silly it's brilliant, if I can express that properly.
  7. Playing on Arboria after exos fix was all fun until I got into turbine + refinery setup and realized that there seem to be no clay on the map. Is deodorizers->clay->ceramic farming route intended for this map? Or am I missing something here?
  8. Different maps are awesome, but Parks are so cool I can't find words to express that (: I was always keeping wild areas around, it's so nice to have this as a feature. Adding wild critters to the nature reserve would be great too, if there were a way to set egg-related buildings to domesticated eggs only.
  9. Started a new map (that's what I mostly do in ONI tbh) yet again in the newest update (I have started maybe two during preview as well), and I feel like Skills change made things much more dynamic during the very-early-game. Rancher comes faster and at a lower morale cost (previously I remember waiting and waiting for the first one), all other stuff is also more accessible. Same impression as with Research changes some patches earlier. Also to my impression the shrinking of a starter zone combined with Disease changes lead to more dynamic gameplay as well. I wonder however how little a starter zone will there be left at the time of the release Or is it just me who feels like it's shrinking?
  10. Learning attribute tooltip says "Determines how quickly a Duplicant conducts research and gains skills", and then "+X% skill leveling" . If it still affects old skills that were renamed to attributes, then the tooltip needs to be changed as well.
