UPDATED - Studio Note & Rhymes with Play Streams Temporarily Canceled.   03/06/2020

UPDATE (3/19/20): Just a quick note regarding the team at Klei Entertainment. As noted previously, everybody at Klei Entertainment is working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Many of us have been working especially hard to help maintain operations as we all move out of the office and into our homes and with everything being done online, extra time must be spent in organizing conversations and trying to maintain communication. As some of you may know, we have a very open office and we are almost always in contact with each other as we go about our days. Some of us work across multiple teams and that work has become a bit more challenging for everybody.   That being said, at this time the transition has not caused any major disruption in our operations, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that we won't have any delays at all. We're going to have to be especially mindful about this in the coming weeks and make sure we don't take on too much work so we can keep things running smoothly.  We will let you know as we see how these changes affect our timelines.  Thanks UPDATE (3/10/20):
The test yesterday went well. We got the whole office (mostly) to work from home without significant issue. As a result, Klei Staff that can work from home have been asked to do so until further notice.  This means that we will have to cancel the Rhymes with Play stream until we are all back in the office. This shouldn't affect anything else at least in the short term, but if things change I will update you all here.  Original Post: Hey everybody,  This Tuesday March 10th, 2020 the entire staff at Klei will be working remotely for 1 day in an effort to prepare the studio to work remotely for a little while if the need arises.  Klei is already set up pretty well to allow for working remotely, however we are going to have a one day "dry run" with the whole studio so that we can identify and avoid any issues or downtime that may arise should choose to implement a work from home policy due to COVID-19 outbreak concerns. Unfortunately this does mean that we will be canceling the “Rhymes with Play” Art stream this coming Tuesday, however unless the situation changes we expect everything at the studio to be back to normal Wednesday and we’ll continue our regular stream schedule Thursday March 12th. If the situation changes at all, we'll let you know. Thanks for your understanding.

  1. oh how i wish and pray for woodlegs to rise again and take his place as the lord of all seas, it would be a truly grandiose experience, but alas, boats are not the main focus of DST, and so he yet rests, waiting, yearning just as i. oh, yaarctopus 2: moon crab edition is pretty cool too i guess.
  2. personally i don't see the importance of it, yes it was an interesting use of game mechanics, but it was also nigh worthless considering the fact that one can do the same thing relatively easily by eating a few mushrooms or killing a few shadows, far less effort compared to killing the queen bee and getting all the flowers crafted, all just to make an already irrelevant stat for the ones that were able to make a sanity station in the first place even more irrelevant. all and all, sanity bad, sanity stations were a novelty, and killing a couple terrorbeaks is much easier than killing the queen bee. hello, sanity rework?
  3. Yes, quite a shame that abigail had to take anger management classes, her previous hatred for all life while irritating when it comes to companions was very useful when it comes to lesser creatures such as butterflies, bees, and rabbits. rest in peace, abigail based farming methods, died before they could even be realised.
  4. "REANIMATE!" -wendy, after finding some shiny instrument.
  5. i too dislike being confined to the underground for fear of burning every forest on the map down by accident.
  6. ah, the wendy rework has arrived. the announcement, not the update, but still.
  7. hello, difficulty slider? difficulty slider machine nonexistant. incomprehensible, consume beefalo manure and starve.
  8. Give me the power of the goggle man, company with a name easily relatable to a soft malleable material usually used for pottery, for i must collect more delicious lore, and the goggle man holds the highest concentration.
  9. ah yes, another symptom of DST's lackluster combat mechanics. yes hello, battlemaster pugna? yes i would like to order absolutely every weapon you have left in stock to the ruins, yes i can pay that, yes i would like better enemy AI with that, pleasure doing buisness with you.
  10. on a completely diffrent note from the storm of chaos over there, wagstaff is going to be in DST and nobody can convince me otherwise. i mean look at him, you can just feel the lore flow from him in every way.
  11. The mimes silence has paid off, after uncountable years, centuries, trapped in the confines of the constant, he has finally gained the nigh unlimited powers of the balloon dark sword, now he is not but a mime, but a GOD.
  12. finding the gingerbread fence AND the gate within minutes of eachother via winters feast chests is a mystical experience.
  13. Op items

absolutely any forge weapon, considering that they are supposed to be used on actual, complex enemies and not on enemies that only have the options "move forward" and "attack"
  14. 5 minutes of charlie sewing new cosmetics.
  15. what if, the aporkalypse, but not. i mean they took some things from shipwrecked why not take something from hamlet too
  16. ah, another argument discussion about difficulty, ah well, guess il toss in my proverbial pocket change. the games challenge, atleast from what i can see, comes mostly from lack of knowledge, not exactly a good thing considering everything. once you survive winter once, you can do it 20 more times in a row once you figure out how many hits you can get in on a treeguard they never become more than a nuisance if you can kite 5 hounds you can kite 50 hounds until it clicks, you are hopeless, but when it does, it is trivial, and that is horrendous, new players not even knowing how to use an axe properly while the fuelweaver fight boils down in essence to "hit, hit, run, use tool 1 when caged, use tool 2 when invulnerable, use tool 3 when healing" is horrendous. of course, losing is supposed to be part of the fun, but im pretty sure the new player over there was not supposed to join in the middle of summer, finally scavenge an axe together after fiddling with the controls for 2 minutes, fail to cut down a tree, overheat to death, and eventually refund the game after this happening 3 times in a row while at the same time the WX has already cleared the ruins by day 4 with almost 0 effort.
  17. >dark sword that repairs... using bone shards, a item that the character in question gets as a drop, thus making inventory management much easier, along with no sanity penalty as said character, along with life steal. the art, maybe, but the rest? seems pretty average to me.
  18. >not in the right subforum >overpowered characters >overpowered mechanics hmm, yep, seems like your average workshop mod to me.
  19. no moon quacken, mildly disappointing, still though we have the murder narwhal.
  20. i had another epiphany, i had to.
  21. i dunno, seems like this is a issue with combat in general instead of a problem with the fuelweaver, hit, run, hit, run, occasionally use a particular item/some cheese, not very intresting.
  22. considering everything? yeah probably, atleast the trading community will melt away into nothing.
