  1. That's the nature of the beast for EA. Additionally Steam is apparently removing the option of accessing older builds, so even if Klei tried, they probably can't.
  2. After resolving the save crash issue, all of my mods are functioning normally.
  3. FYI - I'm not sure what was causing the access denied crash upon the auto-save, but I went in and deleted the entire new folder structure then manually recreated it and manually copied in the save files. After that the crash hasn't happened again (so far at least).
  4. Appears to be an Unauthorized Access error on the PNG file, I'll try to see if I can adjust my file system security levels. UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Users\Gary\Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\save_files\Chaotic Utopia\auto_save\Chaotic Utopia Cycle 44.sav (1).png" is denied. 5. So after this update, my existing game crashes every time it tries to do the save at the beginning of the cycle. I turned off all mods and reloaded, still crashes. It's set for Local usage, I haven't tried the Cloud save yet; but Local files are causing it to crash every time. It is saving to the new structure (the colony name directory), but is is crashing upon completion of the save (or at least that's what it looks like).
  6. Considering that I'm not even sure if .Net Framework 4 will run on Vista...
  7. How much space does a Balloon Artist need? I've opened up a 4 high x 6 wide space in my rec room and it hasn't seemed to matter. Got sparkling trails and stickers everywhere, but no balloons.
  8. I've encountered what I believe to be a bug. I covered my base with paintings, using up a LOT of fiber, and then when the artist was sufficiently trained, I went to deconstruct them all to rebuild them. The paintings were deconstructed, and *appeared* to drop the fiber back (graphically). But when I went to make more paintings, the fibers didn't count as available and disappeared as soon as the dupes tried to move them into storage.
  9. At work so can't check, but I'm assuming that no sweat is the new term for sandbox
  10. Well at least you're not having a water shortage...
  11. Just a side note. I just loaded up the game I've been playing since this morning....Created new this morning, so after EU went live. I got the popup and the 5 turn morale boost. Not sure if that was intended or just an unavoidable side effect, but wanted to mention it. Doesn't really affect me at all, as I'm only on cycle 15 and morale isn't an issue yet either direction.
  12. It seems like for existing bases, you have to manually adjust the schedule once and wait for it to cycle through to a new category before it starts working. What's throwing me is I'm not sure which of the rooms is needed (for recreation rooms that is). Do I need a Great Hall for recreation and a mess hall for eating? Is the great hall just a strictly better mess hall? Do the dupes get stress relief from hanging out in the great hall or do they actually have to eat there? Info: the way I've been building my rooms (before EU) was to have a 4 dupe barracks (eventually changing to comfy beds) attached to a 4 dupe mess hall. 4 levels of those to fit the 16 dupes I use. Can I leave that in place and just put a single mess table in the Great Hall rec room (to be filled with espresso, jukebox, water cooler, etc for recreational use) or do I need to make a great hall that all 16 dupes can eat in and get rid of the mess halls?
  13. Really? 2 full coal generators (3 mouse wheels ! … guess no one is going to ever be able to enjoy it as they'll be too busy running trying to power it), and refined metal wires required just to run a single x-box? That single recreation item uses more power than the rest of my entire base put together.
  14. Yes I know. But it seems like these changes were meant to limit transformer output to the wires they are intended for. Hence getting rid of the 5x1kw/ second action. But setting it to 4kw doesn't seem to accomplish either result. Too much power still coming through.
  15. Why 4kw? Small trans = 1kw = regular wire. Large trans = 4kw = overload of conductive wire which can only handle 2kw? I'm not complaining, it just doesn't make sense to me.
  16. Wait a minute. If the transformer can ONLY supply 1KW MAX now, doesn't that mean that it is now impossible to overload a normal wire? I might have 3000 W of devices connected to it, but at most only 1000 W will be travelling through it at any point in time (just leaving some equipment powerless).?
  17. I agree that the transformer had issues, here's the thing though: if I have to build 2 transformers anyway, why bother connecting them to the same circuit with conductive wires? Just use 2 separated circuits with normal wires and save a ton (literally) of refined metal. Maybe late game when you have more refined metal than raw ores left available, then go back and rebuild with conductive; but before then it's really just a waste.
  18. Rock Granulator with a continuous request for Gold Amalgam to Gold. Works fine. Save and Reload. Request becomes inactive and says that the granulator is missing 100 Kg of Electrum. Happens every time after a reload, and has happened on more than one base world seed.
  19. Oh I was thinking of the gas pipe element sensor. Had not noticed there's a different kind of element sensor
  20. Sensors don't use power. Or is that what this change is? If so, how much power? And only element sensors or has power requirements been added to the other sensors (clock, atmosphere, liquid, etc)?
  21. The problem with the current expecting status is that it affects all critters in the room. In a full room, as soon as one egg gets laid, all egg production completely stops. I like the idea and think it makes sense to have the status, but I think the expecting status should only apply to the critter that laid the egg.
  22. I have to say, I'm loving the new more intense gas colorations. It makes the gasses much easier to distinguish apart. I am a little lost on the egg changes though. So, if I understand correctly, to hatch you either leave on the ground untouched or put in an incubator. To use for cooking you have to use an egg cracker? Or will just leaving them in a storage bin automatically make them usable in cooking? Also, is the "wallpaper" just for sealing the outer space areas or does it have a use (other than pure cosmetic) inside the base?
  23. So what effect does the fertility bonus have on shinebugs egg time? Is it enough to offset at least a good portion of the 10x reduction in egg mass? I think they needed a reduction but 1/10th is a bit much
  24. Two h2 gens can barely run a single aquatuner. Your base must be either tiny or super efficient. berries and shrooms
  25. I'm sorry but going from 3 synth units (360 watts) to 9 units (1080 watts) for a single 800 watt generator is not an example of proper balancing.
