  1. I sincerely hope they don't go this route. Doing it with Maxwell was pretty cool, but if they did it again I don't think it would really be able to hold the same cool factor. I know in the past there were people who wanted playable Charlie (I remember there used to be a workshop mod for her), but if they wanted to do that, I feel like they would have had to have not made her the antagonist.
  2. The way I've usually seen Purgatory described is essentially it's a place where you would atone for your sins before you get into heaven. If I'm remembering correctly in Dante's Divine Comedy (Dante's Inferno is an incredible hate fic by the way), he actually gets to visit Purgatory and it's basically a mountain where people carry their sins on their back and when they make it to the summit they're free to get into Heaven as they're "cleansed". The Constant is a lot closer to Hell than Purgatory, although the Constant isn't *eternal* suffering. The survivors clearly have things they can enjoy and do for fun, heck, some of the survivors even prefer the Constant to their previous life situations.
  3. Alright folks, let's wrap it up, nothing will top this
  4. Did you take this text from an edgy Joker image macros that had a picture like this?
  5. I was going to say seasons clock, but then I realized thermal measure would be useless. I say add something that allows us to see our character's current temperature (in game units of course), we already have meters for things like wetness, so I don't think this is too big of an ask and it's not game breaking. This too.
  6. "Webber, he is dancing and moving his lips...I-is he supposed to be singing???"
  7. While I think it is pretty unlikely that we'll see a lot of these characters in DST, if they are added, it is likely they will get reworked pretty significantly. We saw that with Warly, who got a slew of new cooking wear to use. Wormwood didn't get reworked much, sure, but I have a theory that he was always meant to be a DST character, and when Klei put the kibosh on Warbucks they simply ported over Wormwood to Hamlet since he was already mostly finished. I'm not holding out any hopes for any Hamlet or Shipwrecked characters to be ported over (I agree with you that if they are Wheeler and Wagstaff have the greatest chance). But if Klei is planning on porting a character, I highly doubt they'll be ported straight over.
  8. I hardly think Mourier or Genivive will be relevant to the story. As for Lucy...Well it depends on how much Woodie lore they want to fork over, and considering how little we've gotten, I'm not hopeful. I really wish Klei would put more effort into expanding their characters, a lot of them have a good base, but have little beyond that.
  9. Yeah that's a good point, I want to support the Klei developers, not help Tencent pay their expenses.
  10. Tencent is the majority share holder in Klei now, which, to my very limited economic knowledge, means they effectively own Klei.
  11. I'm not going to write a big mushy paragraph, but I just want to say I'm worried. Don't Starve is my favorite game and I'm happy to support you Klei, but I want to support you, not a big conglomerate. I try to stay at least a little positive (we have enough jaded cynics in this world), but reading through this...Well it gives me an awful pit in my stomach. But I don't want to give up on something I love.
  12. I think this is what I'm most concerned about, I don't want Klei's creativity to be stifled. But I trust Klei will make the right decision, they haven't let me down so far.
  13. Yeah that's kinda been her thing since like, forever
  14. I was so confused as to why they didn't just send Woodie out in the first place
  15. I imagine the set pieces will just remain unchanged, the farms aren't being removed, you just won't be able to craft them anymore.
  16. "Holy crap Lois, this reminds me of that time I got turned into a fish girl on that deserted island!"
  17. I voted based on what I think of the characters lore wise, and I went with Wurt, Wormwood, and Wortox. I don't really find any of the non-human characters that aren't WX and Webber to be particularly interesting. It's not that I think they're bad characters, but they have very little baring on the actual story. They're just kinda there, only helping the other survivors just because. Admittedly, I do have a bit of a soft spot for Wortox because he was stuck in unimplemented hell for so long.
  18. I always figured it was a lotus flower, at least that's what it looked the most similar to. Edit: Users @Spindlewick and @SDragonhead also agree it's a lotus considering it has a seedpod similar to one, although no kind of lotus grows on a bush
  19. That's what the DS wiki says, but I'm skeptical. The player characters can seemingly recognize their own skeleton as well as the skeletons of others as we see in DST. But then there are skeletons that no one recognizes (the NPC skeletons that naturally spawn) so that makes me think there are probably some other unfortunate souls who were unlucky enough to get captured and we just haven't seen them yet. Obviously, that's the most important qualification!
  20. How many people have Maxwell and Charlie captured and taken to The Constant? Do they have any special criteria they use to determine if someone is worth bringing to The Constant or do they just take any Joe Schmoe who is down on his luck/unhappy with his current life?
  21. Holy cow, I didn't realize the merm transformation animation was so graphic.
