PS4 parental control issue

It seems to me that parental control settings of PS4 are not taken into account in Don't Starve Together Console Edition

So I have a child's account on my PS4 and when I try to start the game it says that due to age restriction online features are turned off (which is expected)

Then I go to Settings/Parental Control and disable them entirely on the console. In other games it allows child's account to use everything as an adult (which is risky, but expected) but in DST I still see the message about age restrictions.

I've tried other settings, both on PS4 and Parental Control for PSN on the web, and it seems that currently there is no way to avoid that limitation regardless of what settings are set in parental control of PS4/PSN account.  It feels as if DST just checks the age of the user, instead of actually applying restrictions from PS4.

Steps to Reproduce

- Create child's account on PS4

- Disable age restriction on PS4 or disable Parental Control entirely

- Launch the game and try to connect online

User Feedback

I think there's still something wrong with your settings.

My daughter has a PSN child account and is able to use the the online features without any problems.

Do you mean she can do that in DST? Because I am not getting this issues under her account in other games, only in DST.

Also, it might age dependent issue. I am not sure if your daughter is older then 12ys old, but that is an age restriction for DST so she might be just old enough to pass it.

She's six and she plays DST with me in online mode.
DST doesn't do any explicit age checking, it uses the parental controls.

Okay, so it seems that it is actually some sort of a setup on my end.

Any chance you can share parental settings that you use with me?

I'm not sure if there are more settings on the console, but these are her account settings under Family Management on the Sony website:

Playtime: don't restrict

Age level for PS5: 17 years

Age level for PS4: Level 9, Age 17

Web browsing: don't restrict

Communication and User-generated content: don't restrict

Age filtering for Online content: Don't restrict

So pretty much no restrictions on the account.

But she's always supervised while she's playing :)
