Gamebreaking Transformer bug - exploitable

Transformer generates free energy exploit

To replicate:

- build a crapton of manual generators

- connect them to at least 1 transformer

- free energy!!

in my test 1 duplicant running on 1 400w manual generator causes the transformer to provide 4kw to the connected batteries, it seems having more manual generators connected to the transformer causes it to draw much more power than it should.

Good find.

Looks like this happens with all generators. Those with pipe inputs/outputs need to have a pipe there and then they start producing free power. You can mix and match generators with the bugged ones acting as more of the unbugged one.

One petroleum generator with a bunch of unmanned manual generators can produce 19.98 kW of power (333 smart compactors). This seems to get fixed after a reload but rebuilding the manual generators can bug it out again.5c1d2afec90d1_TransformerBug.thumb.jpg.ac785ae043ed1cd1c9365d20a7282465.jpg

The bug still exists. I can power 31-33 fridges constantly with a single dupe and a transformer.

I think this bug is directly connected to the following bug as well. However, the following bug suggests that an empty battery is treated the same as a generator that is not in use. Basically, the bug post (below) uses this exact same bug, but instead of using a generator to supply the power, just use the extra power generated to cycle back on itself. The bug persists after save/reload.

Might be connected to this bug.
