I am not sure if this is intended or a bug.
Start with a SW world, find sandy piles on a beach biome and prepare a shovel.
if you dig the sandy pile by continuously fast clicking on the right button of your mouse (Space Key won't work). Click as fast as you can.
There's a chance that you would harvest 4 sand. (depending on the frequency you pressed the right button)
On my computer the chance is around 50 50 to yield 2 or 4 sand.
