Telelocator Staff doesn't link with a fully equipped Telelocator Focus

I've been making experiments with all the currently available items in Don't Starve: Hamlet.
I used a Telelocator Staff alone to myself and it randomly teleports me around the map. It's normal.
Now I tried with a Telelocator Focus fully equipped with 3 Purple Gemstones. The Focus lights up showing that the structure is active.
I tried using the staff to myself and i still get teleported randomly around the map.

I went back to the Focus and see the Gems were not consumed.

 

EDIT: CORRECTION, THIS BUG HAPPENED WHEN I USED THE STAFF INSIDE  THE RUINS AND HOUSES

IT IS WORKING PROPERLY AS LONG AS I USED IT OUTSIDE.

I'm just trying out all the craftables in Don't Starve: Hamlet.

i put my telelocator Focus in the chamber with my calender and when i went to use my map it teleported me and 12 or so guards to a blank location that had a pile of items. It made noises like stepping on traps but theres nothing to see.
