I filed a bug report in-game, but only later realized it was incorrect. I linked my Hamlet world to a new Shipwrecked world. In the Shipwrecked world, I dug up meadow turf (light green). The turf seemed to disappear, but I could pick it up by pressing space. It was visible in my inventory.
